When you get in the habit of asking God how he sees the situation, rather than how you perceive it, it will lead you to reflect on how your perspective changes and on the love and compassion you have for others. Reflect on Ephesians 6:12-13 today and put on the Armor of God "so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” Highlights: Our real battle is spiritual, not against people, and the enemy seeks to divide, deceive, and distract us. Christians are called to put on the full armor of God daily: belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, shoes of peace, shield of faith, and helmet of salvation. Daily Scripture reading, prayer, and reflection equip us to resist the devil’s schemes and strengthen our walk with God. Seeking God’s perspective over our own helps us grow in compassion, grace, and Christlikeness. Equipping ourselves with God’s armor allows us to stand firm, resist temptation, and remain close to Him in every situation. This episode is sponsored by Trinity Debt Management. Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” - Ephesians 6:12-13 Churches can have their share of problems. In twenty-five years of ministry, we've seen many churches that constantly have conflict. The weekly drama can become too much for leadership to bear. The spiritual battle that Christians face can become the strongest in church settings. People who think they know better about how to run a church can drive leadership to the point of breakdown, leaving them feeling isolated and alone. In these situations, it can be easy for a leader to see that the problem lies with the people. However, the people are not the problem. The problem is with the enemy. The enemy divides, deceives, and is against any vision for possible success or movement toward the Holy Spirit. The above verse reminds us that this is to be expected. Christians, no matter how healthy their church is, have a battle they must fight—their battle is against the enemy. Daily, we are instructed to put on the full armor of God, which consists of the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of peace, the shield of faith, and the helmet of salvation. When we choose to arm ourselves with these elements, we are better prepared to thwart the enemy than when our minds are cluttered with thoughts that do not align with Scripture. Take a moment to analyze your life. Do you equip yourself with the full armor of God every day? Do you start your day by reading the Word, praying, and asking God to help you in every situation throughout the day? Do you shorten your devotional time so you can get done what's on your to-do list, forsaking the very person who can help you get through that list in the first place? If you find you are not fully equipping yourself with God, there's hope. Start your day with half an hour in the Word of God. Read a couple of chapters each day. Journal about your thoughts on the matter. Take notes on what you read and use commentaries to study what you read. Don't just read it to check it off your to-do list. Rather, apply it to your lives, and then no area of your life will become vulnerable to Satan’s schemes. Pray without ceasing. Every time you come into a situation you don't know how to handle, pray to God. Ask him when he would have you do that in that situation. Help him illuminate the situation with his eyes, rather than yours. When you get in the habit of asking God how he sees the situation, rather than how you perceive it, it will lead you to reflect on how your perspective changes and on the love and compassion you have for others. When you shift your perspective from one of selfishness to treating others as if they bear the image of God, you'll become more like Christ. It will also help you grow in grace and mercy with everyone in your life. Not only is it important to equip yourself with the armor of God every day to fight the devil’s schemes, but it is also so you can withstand the devil's plan to get you to move away from God. Satan is relentless and wants you to worship him and not God. He'll do anything to get your attention and approval. Be someone who can see right through the devil and call him to flee. When you can do this, you can not only withstand Satan's schemes, but also stand on your own two feet, planted firmly on the word of God. Father, let us be people who equip ourselves with the armor of God so that we can be protected from the devil. Let us enter this spiritual battle with ease. Let us be equipped with the helmet of salvation and the word of God. Let us fight the greatest battles on our knees so that we can be closer to you and further away from the enemy. Amen. In our exploration of Matthew's Sermon on the Mount, we encounter a challenging truth: knowing Scripture and living it are vastly different things. The passage challenges us to move beyond religious performance toward genuine heart transformation. We're confronted with the reality that our relationships are the proving ground of our faith. Every conflict, every difficult conversation, every moment of judgment reveals whether we truly understand the greater righteousness Jesus calls us to. The central question becomes: How do we navigate the messy complexity of human relationships while maintaining Kingdom values? Jesus points us to prayer as the essential fuel for this journey. Not ritualistic prayer, but persistent, childlike asking, seeking, and knocking. The beautiful imagery of a good father who delights in giving good gifts to his children reshapes our understanding of God. He's not waiting to punish us, but eager to provide wisdom when we lack it. This wisdom isn't mere information but the discernment to know when to speak and when to remain silent, when to confront and when to extend grace. The Golden Rule emerges not as a simple platitude but as a radical way of life that requires us to put ourselves in others' shoes, to desire for them what we would want for ourselves. This narrow path demands we break allegiance with our idols of success, tribalism, and self-protection, choosing instead the counterintuitive way of open-handed generosity toward all.

Sometimes the most profound lessons about faith are found in the simplest parts of creation. Jesus pointed to wildflowers—small, fragile, and easily overlooked—to teach a powerful truth about trust and provision. In Luke 12:27, Jesus tells us to “consider how the wildflowers grow.” They do not work endlessly to secure their future. They do not worry about appearance or provision. Yet God clothes them with beauty that surpasses even the splendor of King Solomon. This invitation is more than poetic imagery—it is a challenge to our anxious hearts. So much of our energy is spent striving: trying to secure financial stability, maintain control over our circumstances, or ensure everything unfolds according to our plans. Worry can quietly dominate our thoughts, convincing us that everything depends on our effort. But the wildflowers tell another story. They grow in quiet dependence. They trust the sun to rise and the rain to fall. Without striving, they flourish exactly as God designed them. Their beauty reflects the care of the Creator who sustains them. Jesus used this image to remind His listeners that if God cares for something as small and temporary as a flower, how much more does He care for His children? Worry often pulls our attention toward what we lack or what might go wrong. But when we shift our focus to God’s provision—seen throughout creation—we remember that He is attentive, present, and faithful. Considering the wildflowers is not about ignoring real concerns. It is about remembering who ultimately holds our lives in His hands. As we seek God first, He promises to provide what we truly need. Main Takeaways Jesus used the wildflowers as a reminder of God’s faithful provision. Worry often distracts us from trusting God’s care. Creation reflects God’s attention to detail and beauty. Faith involves releasing control and trusting God’s provision. Seeking God first brings peace that replaces anxiety. Today’s Bible Verse Consider how the wild flowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. — Luke 12:27 (NIV) Your Daily Prayer Prayer excerpt for listeners: “Help me trust Your provision and release the worries I’ve been carrying.” Listen to the full prayer here. Mama, there are many traditions that expose our children to God's Word in fun ways! Let's dive in and explore some great ways to bring Jesus into this season. “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.” Deuteronomy 6:6-7✨ A Sweet Invitation for You, Mama ✨ Sweet sister, in 2026 the Lord is inviting us into something more: deeper connection, more growth, loving heart-to-heart community. Come go deeper with us inside the Radiant Mom Sisterhood.
There are moments when God's face feels hidden and faith itself seems beyond reach. Rabbi Cosgrove teaches that even when we cannot see the face of God directly, we may still encounter the divine in the face of another.
Exploring what it truly means to seek God diligently. Using Isaiah 55:6-9, we'll delve into practical ways to pursue Him with all our heart, understand His thoughts, and align our lives with His perfect ways.
The Bible instructs us to seek God first and foremost, putting aside any other distraction from our minds and hearts. Once we are in that kind of relationship with Him where He is all we want, He will put things on our hearts to ask for and has told us to ask Him with boldness and persistence.
Sometimes it feels like God is hiding from us when really we're the ones trying to hide from Him. Instead of continuing in our sin, we need to seek after Him with our whole hearts and find that His promise is true that He will be found.
Instead of being content with a ticket to Heaven, we need to seek God to give us more and more of Himself on this earth. He offers us so much more than the gift of salvation, but we must seek Him, putting Him first above all things, and let Him deepen our wisdom and understanding to fuel our passion and purpose in living for Him.
I. Welcome and Mission of Victory Church Podcast welcome and explanation: messages from pastoral staff and guest speakers from Sunday worship services. Statement of Victory's mission: reaching the lost, restoring the broken, and reviving believers. Brief personal remark from the speaker about still feeling new when coming up to preach. II. Introduction to Psalm 27 and Context Request for Psalm 27 to be put on the screen; announcement that this will be the main text. Expression of gratitude to volunteers who cleared snow in the parking lot and reminder about tight parking conditions. Mood set: “We're here to worship the Lord” despite inconveniences with snow and parking. Personal memory of an elderly woman at the former Admiral Street location who would quote Psalm 27:1 with conviction. Pivot from original planned message to God's redirection toward Psalm 27 and the theme of light. III. Theme Stated: The Light of the World Working sermon title given: “The Light of the World,” referring to Jesus. Explanation that light in the Bible symbolizes God, His holiness, and the only true light for the world. Connection of light and salvation as inseparable in Psalm 27:1. Reference to Jesus' “I Am” statements in John, especially “I am the light of the world” (John 8:12), and other Johannine references to Jesus as light. Reference to Matthew 4:16: those who sat in darkness have seen a great light. IV. Exposition of Psalm 27:1–3 – My Light and My Salvation Reading Psalm 27:1–3 and identifying it as a psalm of David. Explanation: David expresses jubilant confidence and courageous trust in the Lord despite many enemies and constant threats. Clarification that courage is not human toughness but trust in God's strength in our weakness. Application: believers also face struggles, conflicts, curveballs, and unexpected changes in life. Definitions: Light dispels darkness, brings understanding, joy, and life. Salvation moves us from a bad place to a good place, is a stronghold—a fortified place where harm cannot ultimately penetrate. Rhetorical question: If God provides light and salvation as a stronghold, whom shall we fear? Encouragement not to be moved by what we see, hear, or feel, but to rest in the Lord as our light and salvation. V. We Are Also Called Light Jesus is the light of the world, but believers are also called the light of the world. Exhortation not to hide our light “under a bushel,” alluding to the children's song “This Little Light of Mine.” Emphasis that this is not only about outward evangelism but about the inner personal light Christ places within each believer. Warning against living in a semi-dead or dim spiritual state; God wants His light to permeate and shine through our lives. VI. Example of persevering faith: The Elderly Woman Return to the story of the elderly woman who quoted Psalm 27:1 every week with conviction. She did not allow age, aches, or pains to diminish her confidence that the Lord was her light and salvation. Personal connection: the preacher knew her family's challenges, including a wayward grandson he once chased as a police officer. Point: her declaration flowed from real experience of God's faithfulness, and she repeated it to impress the same mindset on others. Application: adopt that same resolute mindset when life throws curveballs and when darkness tries to extinguish our light. VII. Light Versus Darkness in Everyday Life Illustration: physical darkness in a room and how even a small light (like an alarm clock display) helps navigate. Spiritual point: darkness cannot snuff out light; light forces darkness to flee when switched on. Observation that sinful and harmful acts often take place under cover of darkness, but God's light exposes and displaces them. Encouragement that if a believer's light feels dim, turning to Scripture (God's Word as lamp and light) brightens the path. VIII. God's Presence in Our Circumstances – He Never Leaves Us (Psalm 27:8–10) Reading Psalm 27:8–10: call to seek God's face and plea that God not hide His face or forsake His servant. Explanation: David felt circumstances getting the best of him—delays, disappointment, and possible abandonment even by parents. Emphasis that God never leaves or forsakes His people even when others do or when we are imperfect. Illustration: the “hound of heaven” image for the Holy Spirit persistently pursuing believers. Personal story: driving past the soccer coach's broken-down car and joking that he did not make the team—contrast with God never passing us by on the roadside. Teaching that God is already present in our troubles before we arrive there; He walks on the storms and invites us, like Peter, to trust Him. IX. Seeking God's Perspective and Fullness David's turning point: he inquired of the Lord and let God's presence enter his doubts and struggles. Call to put God's will first rather than our own, as Jesus prayed “not my will but yours.” Encouragement to seek God's fullness—fullness of faith, joy, and strength—rather than settling for half measures. Analogy: we often try to clean ourselves up before coming to God, but that is why we got into a mess; God wants us to come as we are. X. God's Faithfulness Across Scripture and Time Affirmation that God's promise to never leave or forsake His people runs from Deuteronomy through the New Testament. Reference to Jesus' promise in Matthew 28: He will be with His disciples to the very end. Explanation of “forever and ever”: God doubles the language to emphasize that His faithfulness truly does not end. Reminder that creation itself groans and anticipates His coming, and that we are made in God's image and likeness. XI. Do Not Lose Heart – Waiting with Faith (Psalm 27:13–14) Reading Psalm 27:13–14: “I would have lost heart unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.” Description of the human heart as fickle and deceitful, prone to discouragement and self-pity (“I'm the only one”). Encouragement to “let God arise” so that fears and doubts are scattered, echoing older worship songs. Clarification that God's goodness is not just future but is seen “in the land of the living,” in our present lives and situations. Exhortation to wait on the Lord—not passively, but in faith, expectation, and confidence that God will strengthen our hearts and align our desires and will with His. XII. From Psalm 27 to Psalm 28 – From Pleading to Praise Brief look ahead to Psalm 28 as a psalm of rejoicing for answered prayer. Reading Psalm 28:6–7 to show David's transition from trouble to praise: the Lord heard his supplications, became his strength and shield, and filled his heart with rejoicing and song. Application: as we trust God as light and salvation, He turns prayers into testimonies and darkness into worship. XIII. Corporate Communion and Response Instruction for the congregation to come out of their seats, fill the aisles, and gather together for communion as an act of koinonia (fellowship). Emphasis that believers are building relationships with those they will be with in eternity; encouragement to love one another now. Communion teaching: The bread represents Christ's body broken so ours need not be ultimately broken by sin's effects; He provides wholeness of mind, body, and spirit. The cup represents Christ's blood shed for forgiveness of sins so we can spend eternity with Him rather than separated. Note that no one is “worthy” in themselves; Jesus did this for us while we were ungodly. Congregational declaration: “The Lord is my light and my salvation; of whom shall I be afraid? The Lord is the strength of my life; whom shall I fear?” XIV. Final Blessing and Dismissal Pastoral prayer: asking God to bless and keep the people, cause His face to shine on them, give peace, strength, and joy of salvation. Reminder that the Lord is their light, strength, and provider today, tomorrow, and for eternity. Practical closing: caution to be careful in the parking lot and invitation to midweek service. Closing thanks to listeners of the sermon and mention of Victory's location at 321 Veazie Street.
God, if you're in it, I want it – If you're not, I don't. Seek God's hand. Moses said to God in Exodus 33:15, “Lord, if you don't personally go with us, don't make us leave this place.” MSG – Lord, if your presence doesn't take the lead here, call this trip off right now.” […]

The Blessedness of Seeking God by David Antwi
How can you be in such a condition that the troubles and sufferings of life don't crush you but actually hone and refine you? Peter tells us that to be that kind of person, you have to be holy. In these verses, Peter says to “gird up the loins of your mind.” It's a picturesque statement of preparing for action, of tucking your robes into your belt. And Peter applies this to the mind, meaning you have to focus totally and get ready for action. Seeking God is not a hobby. But it's not just about seeking God. What you need is in verse 16: “Be ye holy; for I am holy.” This teaches us three things: 1) it teaches us that God is holy, 2) it teaches us that we must be holy, and 3) it teaches us that we can be holy because God is holy. Today we talk about a question many people wrestle with: Is God ever really silent?Josh and Caitlin explore how their understanding of God's communication has developed over time. We share how becoming parents changed the way we view Heavenly Father's love and patience. What once sounded like simple textbook phrases became deeply meaningful after going through real-life trials and disappointments. We discuss how it's easy to expect constant answers delivered quickly and easily, like an online order. But God doesn't usually work that way. Instead, He often guides us through small moments, quiet impressions, scriptures, prayer, and the everyday experiences of life.Caitlin shares personal stories about grief, recovery from a C-section, and seeing meaningful signs like butterflies and the number 711 as reminders of God's individualized care. Remember the wondrous works that he has done, his miracles and the judgments he uttered.” - 1 Chronicles 16:11-12, ESV The 2026 Winter Olympics (Milano Cortina 2026) shine a spotlight on some of the strongest athletes in the world. No matter what sport they compete in, Olympic athletes are constantly seeking strength. Many of them pray for God’s help to be the best they can be, both physically and mentally. That includes help from God for the discipline and endurance they need to practice and compete well. But you don’t have to be a downhill skier or a figure skater to understand why it’s important to be strong. Whether you’re launching a new project at work, dealing with a challenging health situation, trying to resolve a family conflict, or facing any other stressful situation in this fallen world, you know how much God’s strength can empower you. God’s help is vital to succeeding with whatever you’re trying to do, whether or not you’ll get a gold medal when you win. In 1 Chronicles 16:11-12, the Bible encourages you to look beyond your own limited power to seek God’s strength, which can empower you without limits. These verses call you to seek God’s presence continually. Instead of just saying a one-time prayer during a crisis, you should notice God’s presence with you throughout your day and check in with God regularly through prayer. When you make a habit of seeking God’s strength, you’ll find the power you need to help you with any kind of situation – even the most challenging situations that seem like they would be impossible to overcome. These Bible verses also encourage you to remember the wondrous works God has done, like his miracles and judgments. Olympic commentators love to talk about an athlete’s “track record.” They look back at each athlete’s past competition results and other information from the past (like injuries and recoveries) to predict future success. You can do the same with your faith. When you feel overwhelmed by a challenge you’re facing right now, look back on how God has helped you in the past. Think of the times when you’ve already experienced the wonder of God’s work in your life – like when God provided exactly what you needed, or when God empowered you to do something you couldn’t do on your own. The more you remember God’s past faithfulness, the more that will fuel your faith to look for the wonder of God’s work in your life every day and let that evidence inspire you to trust God now. In this year’s winter Olympics, thousands of athletes will chase gold, silver, and bronze medals. But those prizes are temporary. God’s presence with you is something you can enjoy both now and forever. As you work toward your own goals and pursue your own adventures this year, don’t get so caught up in trying to achieve temporary results that you miss your wonderful Creator and Heavenly Father walking right beside you. Whether you reach the podium of success or make mistakes that hurt like falling on ice, God will be there with you, empowering you with his strength. You can afford to bravely take big risks to keep learning and growing, just like Olympic athletes do. Your worth doesn’t come from your performance; it comes from your relationship with God as one of his beloved children. So, whatever challenge you’re facing today, seek God and his strength. God is with you, and he’s ready to give you everything you need for the journey ahead. Intersecting Faith & Life: As you consider why it’s important to seek God and his strength, reflect on these questions: If you were training for your current life season like an Olympian, what’s the one area where you most need God’s strength right now? How can you seek God’s presence “continually” rather than just when you’re facing a challenge? What will help you remember to ask God for more strength on a regular basis? Think of one “wondrous work” or miracle God has done in your past. How does remembering that help you face a fear you have today? What’s one way you can celebrate this week to thank God for answering a prayer you prayed in the past? Can you plan to look at old photos that remind you of God’s answer, post about it on social media, or share the story with a friend? In this sermon, Fr. Matthias Shehad explores the concept of "The Favor of God" by examining the Annunciation to the Virgin Mary and Scripture passages that reveal how believers can obtain God's favor. He explains that God's favor is not random but earned through prayer, obedience to God's commandments, seeking God wholeheartedly, living righteously, offering our first fruits, and embracing humility. Fr. Matthias emphasizes that prayer maintains our connection with God, while keeping His commandments requires trust beyond our understanding. Seeking God and living humbly help believers submit to God's will. The sermon also highlights the benefits of God's favor, including joy, mercy, protection, and victory over enemies. Through biblical examples such as Mary and Abel, Fr. Matthias encourages cultivating a life aligned with God's will to experience His blessing and favor. Are our churches actually making disciples, or are we just barely passing? Brian Upshaw and Drew Dabbs dive into the latest LifeWay Research findings and discuss how pastors can move their congregations from a ‘D' average to vibrant, Great Commission impact. The latest State of Discipleship study reveals a startling disconnect in the pews: while churchgoers score high on “seeking God,” they are failing in Bible engagement and sharing Christ. Drew Dabbs, discipleship ministry strategist, points out that while “Ds get degrees” in college, a “D” average in discipleship suggests that many believers lack the practical tools to study the Word for themselves or engage their culture with the gospel. The conversation highlights that the desire to follow God is present, but the systems for equipping and reproducing disciples are often missing. To address these gaps, Dabbs and Brian Upshaw highlight the upcoming Disciple-Making Conference on Feb. 24 at Hickory Grove Baptist Church. This event is designed to move beyond theory by featuring local practitioners who are effectively building cultures of evangelism and leadership development in diverse contexts. Whether it's understanding new Gen Z trends or learning how to turn volunteers into leaders, North Carolina Baptists have the resources available to help their churches “raise their grades” and thrive on mission. Memphis is still iced over, so we are online only again - but we are continuing our "Seeking God's Light" series, digging into what the Bible says about religious questions. Today's question: Does being undenominational matter to God?
Jesus Followers' Personal Relationship with Jesus Comes from Humility as Sinners Through Seeking God's Mercy in Prayer MESSAGE SUMMARY: We do not deserve it; but we able to come to God, in a Personal Relationship with Him, because of His Mercy. We are all sinners. As Paul tells us in Romans 9:18: “So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills.". With God's Justice without His Mercy and His resulting Grace, you would face only eternal death as Justice for your sins. We can never enter God's presence for prayer when we are in our pride with our focus on ourselves. Also, Paul reminds us, in 1 Corinthians 1:30-31, that, in your Salvation through God's Grace, Jesus makes us “boast” only in the Grace provided us by God: “And because of him you are in Christ Jesus, who became to us wisdom from God, righteousness and sanctification and redemption, so that, as it is written, ‘Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.'”. We can only enter God's presence when we humble ourselves in Jesus. Humility and penitence before God invite His presence – here I am, Lord; just as I am; have mercy on me a sinner. TODAY'S PRAYER: Lord, everything in me resists following you into the garden of Gethsemane to fall on my face to the ground before you. Grant me the courage to follow you all the way to the cross, whatever that might mean for my life. And then, by your grace, lead me to resurrection life and power. In Jesus' name, amen. Scazzero, Peter. Emotionally Healthy Spirituality Day by Day (p. 100). Zondervan. Kindle Edition. TODAY'S AFFIRMATION: Today, because I am filled with the Holy Spirit, I will not be controlled by my Insensitivity. Rather, I will walk in the Spirit's fruit of Gentleness. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” (Galatians 5:22f). When Jesus teaches on prayer in Luke 11, He describes three progressive movements in prayer: asking, seeking, and knocking. Each step takes us into an ever-deepening relationship with God.Asking in prayer is likened to entering the Outer Court of the tabernacle. Seeking God is entering the Holy Place. Knocking is coming into the Holy of Holies—coming into union with God.Pastor Kong Hee encourages us to stay long enough to have long, unhurried discussions with the Holy Spirit. Only then will our lives be truly transformed.
Chronicles ends by encouraging God's people to look at their past as the source of hope for the future. Israel often forgot they were God's chosen people and to remember how God had worked in them. Do WE see how God has worked in our lives, and does this inform how we relate to God? Do we seek God consistently or only in times of crisis? 1 Chronicles 16:11 tells us that God wants relationship with us; He chose us; and He wants us to seek Him first.
In this inaugural roundtable discussion, I dive headfirst into one of the most contentious topics at the intersection of faith and science: psychedelics and Christianity. As a relatively new Christian myself, I've been wrestling with what believers should think about these powerful substances—especially after interviewing guests whose lives were transformed by psychedelic experiences, including detransitioners who credit these substances with helping them see through lies they'd built their lives upon.I've gathered four fascinating voices for this conversation, each bringing unique expertise and perspectives. Louie Locke, a pastor of 26 years from Reno, Nevada, rates himself a one out of ten—firmly opposed to psychedelic use from a Christian perspective. He explains his concerns about entering the "second heaven" or spirit realm through means other than Jesus, warning of spiritual doors that may be opened through such substances.Cameron English, a science journalist and director of biosciences at the American Council on Science and Health, brings skepticism from both scientific and theological angles, noting the poor quality of research and drawing parallels to problematic harm reduction movements.Daniel Elliot, an Air Force veteran and counselor who has conducted research on psilocybin and spiritual wellbeing, offers a cautious middle ground as a five, distinguishing between natural substances like psilocybin and synthetic ones like MDMA.Dr. Liza Lockwood, an emergency medicine physician and medical toxicologist, presents the highest rating at seven, explaining her interest in the therapeutic potential for treating refractory depression while sharing the fascinating history of ergot poisoning from the Salem Witch Trials to the discovery of LSD.Together we explore the Greek concept of pharmakeia, whether psychedelics might be connected to the tree of knowledge of good and evil, what harm reduction really means in practice, and whether Christians should be involved in psychedelic-assisted therapy settings. This is just the first in a series exploring these questions—questions that don't have easy answers but deserve thoughtful Christian engagement.Books mentioned:-Imagine Heaven and Imagine The God of Heaven by John Burke-The Great Divorce by C.S. What do you do when life feels unfair and you're carrying consequences you didn't create? In this episode, I walk through the powerful story of the widow's oil in 2 Kings 4 and share what God showed me about provision, obedience, and justice when faithful people find themselves in impossible circumstances. This message is for you if you've been obedient, yet you're still dealing with lingering debt, emotional carryover from past seasons, or situations that feel deeply unfair. I talk about why God often asks the question, “What do you have in your house?” and how that question is an invitation to partner with Him, even when what you have feels small. We'll look at how obedience unlocks supernatural provision and how God honors faithfulness, even when the cost feels heavy. I also share how we can stand confidently on the righteousness of Jesus Christ and put a demand on God's promises when we need breakthrough, direction, or justice. In this episode, I cover: Why obedience is often the doorway to God's provisionHow to respond when you're affected by circumstances you didn't causeWhat the widow's oil teaches us about partnership with GodHow to trust God when you don't have clear answers yetWhy God's provision often overflows beyond the immediate need

A new year brings fresh goals and expectations, but lasting growth happens when God shapes our plans from the very beginning. Full Transcript Below: How to Let the Word of God Shape Your YearBy Aaron D’Anthony Brown Bible Reading:“Teach us to number our days carefully so that we may develop wisdom in our hearts.” (Psalm 90:12, CSB) With the new year comes new hopes, expectations, and disappointments. Whatever we face, everything is always better when we face it with God. Sadly, however, we often start our year without focusing on Him. We have our goals and plans for achieving them. Yet, the Lord doesn’t always factor into that process. Perhaps that explains at least part of the reason so many resolutions fade away by the end of January. We make commitments, but none stick. What sticks are the excuses. Here’s an alternative. What if we made plans, but factor God into the process? What if we sought Him for wisdom on what goals to set and how best to accomplish those goals? As a believer, that may sound self-evident, but we make many decisions every day without consulting God. We enter disputes with loved ones, take on responsibilities, and more, all without spending sufficient time in prayer. Sometimes we have to make split-second decisions. However, if we’re being honest, there are times we could pray and simply don’t. We think we know what’s best, but then we feel foolish when things don’t exactly work out. Let’s do something different this new year. Before we make any plans, let’s figure out how we can allow God to shape this new year. Intersecting Faith & Life: Entering into the new year is undoubtedly an exciting time. If we’re going to make the most of this newness, we should strive to put the Lord first. Here are a few ways you can let the word of God shape your year: With Action Some of us set unrealistic goals, some of us set too many goals, and some of us set no goals at all. The solution to all of this is to pray for wisdom, which God gives freely (James 1:5). He knows our heart’s desires and also knows what’s best for us. Seek Him and ask Him for the best approach. Doing so will help us find the wisdom we need not just to make good decisions, but the best decisions. The new year is a great time for action because we enter it with a fresh mindset. However, keep in mind that we don’t have to wait for the new year to change. We should seek God on a daily basis to become more like Christ, rather than waiting for special occasions. With Gratitude When God is at the center of our plans, we experience greater gratitude. That’s the natural result of living a life with a view of the Creator. We know that what we have is not given freely, and not our own, and not to be taken for granted. What we have are gifts from God. Our plans, the success of the plans, and the result, whatever that may be. With Trust When life goes our way, and even when it doesn’t, knowing that God has brought us through before helps us trust Him for the next time. That applies to specific circumstances, such as familial disputes or loss, but also applies to how we approach the new year. Some years are better than others for a myriad of reasons - financial, relational. Whatever the case, God has seen us through the difficult times, which reminds us we ought to trust Him for whatever comes next year. There is no good reason to fear the future. With Hope Faith in God grants us a hope for the future that people can’t find when they don’t believe in a higher power. Such individuals are forced to find hope in people and circumstances, and that hope can just as quickly falter. However, when we have our eyes trained on God, we set our feet on solid ground. We find many reasons to hope. And those reasons never change because God never changes (Hebrews 13:8). Let that be an encouragement as you set yourself to grow, not just this new year, but day by day.
