Pastor Ethan continues our series in Colossians with a message about learning to live in the freedom in Christ.
In Acts 13, the Holy Spirit ignites the church in Antioch to send out its best for the sake of the gospel—because when Jesus transforms your life, you can't stay still. In this sermon, “We Gotta Go,” God calls us to recover that same sending mindset: empowered by the Spirit, proclaiming Jesus, and willing to be uprooted for the nations. And for every Christian, true mission doesn't begin when you cross an ocean—it begins when you cross the street, right where God has placed them.__The Bridge Church exists to join God in multiplying his kingdom in Wilmington and the world. For more information on The Bridge Church, please visit https://thebridgeilm.com/Next Steps: https://thebridgeilm.churchcenter.com/people/forms/302918If you feel led, give online by clicking here: https://www.thebridgeilm.com/giveSTAY CONNECTEDInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/thebridgeilm/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheBridgeILMEvents Page: https://thebridgeilm.churchcenter.com/registrations/events

Pastor Ethan continues our series in Colossians with a message reminding us to hold fast to Jesus alone.
In Romans 2, Paul turns the spotlight from the rebellious world to the religious heart, revealing that self-righteousness and the religion of moralism is every bit as deadly as open sin. God isn't after outward religion but inward renewal—a circumcision of the heart by his Spirit. The good news is that where our morality fails, Jesus was “cut off” in our place, so that through him we might be made whole, forgiven, and truly righteous from the inside out.__The Bridge Church exists to join God in multiplying his kingdom in Wilmington and the world. For more information on The Bridge Church, please visit https://thebridgeilm.com/Next Steps: https://thebridgeilm.churchcenter.com/people/forms/302918If you feel led, give online by clicking here: https://www.thebridgeilm.com/giveSTAY CONNECTEDInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/thebridgeilm/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheBridgeILMEvents Page: https://thebridgeilm.churchcenter.com/registrations/events
In Romans 1, Paul describes the sobering reality of God's wrath: when we continually reject Him, He “gives us up” to the very desires we've chosen. That's what happens “When God Lets Go.” Sin is not only punished in the future—it enslaves us in the present. Yet the good news of the gospel is that while we were handed over to sin, Christ willingly handed Himself over to the cross for our rescue. He took our place so we could take his place. This sermon calls us to see both the seriousness of sin and the greater power of God's grace in Christ.__The Bridge Church exists to join God in multiplying his kingdom in Wilmington and the world. For more information on The Bridge Church, please visit https://thebridgeilm.com/Next Steps: https://thebridgeilm.churchcenter.com/people/forms/302918If you feel led, give online by clicking here: https://www.thebridgeilm.com/giveSTAY CONNECTEDInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/thebridgeilm/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheBridgeILMEvents Page: https://thebridgeilm.churchcenter.com/registrations/events

Life With Open Hands | 1 Samuel 30 | Pastor Ethan Henderson
We continue our series in Colossians with a message about what it took for us to go from being estranged enemies to loved and reconciled men and women standing established and firm in Christ.
In Romans 1:18–23, Paul reveals a sobering truth: God's wrath is not random but is His holy and loving response to humanity's sin. Though God has clearly made Himself known in creation, we suppress the truth, exchange His glory for idols, and stand without excuse. Yet into this hopeless condition, the gospel breaks in—God not only revealed His righteousness but entered the story Himself, not as Judge alone but as Redeemer. This passage calls us to face our sin honestly and to turn in worship to the only One worthy of it: the Creator who saves.__The Bridge Church exists to join God in multiplying his kingdom in Wilmington and the world. For more information on The Bridge Church, please visit https://thebridgeilm.com/Next Steps: https://thebridgeilm.churchcenter.com/people/forms/302918If you feel led, give online by clicking here: https://www.thebridgeilm.com/giveSTAY CONNECTEDInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/thebridgeilm/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheBridgeILMEvents Page: https://thebridgeilm.churchcenter.com/registrations/events

The gospel is not just good advice or inspirational words—it is the very power of God to save. InRomans 1:16–17, Paul declares that he is “not ashamed of the gospel,” even though it offendedthe pride, dignity, and comfort of his culture. The same is true today: the gospel still confrontsour self-reliance and challenges the values of the world, yet it offers the only way to true life andrighteousness before God. The gospel may offend, but it is always worth our unashamedconfidence and trust. __The Bridge Church exists to join God in multiplying his kingdom in Wilmington and the world. For more information on The Bridge Church, please visit https://thebridgeilm.com/Next Steps: https://thebridgeilm.churchcenter.com/people/forms/302918If you feel led, give online by clicking here: https://www.thebridgeilm.com/giveSTAY CONNECTEDInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/thebridgeilm/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TheBridgeILMEvents Page: https://thebridgeilm.churchcenter.com/registrations/events

Life doesn't stop handing out trials—but James invites us to see them differently. He begins his letter with four surprising words: “Count it all joy.” Not because suffering feels good, but because endurance through trials produces something lasting: a deeper, steadier faith. Joy, James says, isn't tied to circumstances—it's rooted in the confidence that God is at work in every situation, shaping us into who we were meant to be. In this episode, Pastors Whit George and Ethan Vanse unpack James 1:2–12 and the true meaning of faith, doubt, and joy through endurance. From our vantage point within a culture steeped in pessimism and cynicism, we may be surprised to find that Colossians 3:5–11, a passage containing a list of sins, is not ultimately about our sin—but rather our renewal and new identity in Christ. Listen as RUF at Illinois campus minister Ethan Brown preaches on this passage, showing us that to live as people of hope we need to be honest about sin and honest about grace. Pastor Ethan looks at this text in two sections: The Old Morality and The New Humanity.
