If you made your First Communion at age seven or eight, then you have St. Pius X to thank! Born into poverty in Italy, St. Pius X became Pope and used his position to do something extraordinary for children: lowering the age for First Communion to around seven years old. Moved by the story of a dying four-year-old named Little Nellie who longed for Jesus in the Eucharist, Pius opened the doors of Holy Communion to children everywhere in 1910. "If you have made your First Communion, you have St. Pius X to thank." ⭐Today's challenge is just the start. The coming revival won't happen in stadiums. Pastor Mattie makes the case from Luke 24 that Jesus is most clearly seen not in spectacle or noise, but in the regular, simple act of sitting down to eat together… and that the dinner table may be the most revolutionary place in the Kingdom right now.Support the show

What happens at a PATH retreat? Let's pull back the curtain…In this special mini episode, your hosts share an inside look at the upcoming PATH retreat at Campovida in Hopland, California—and more importantly, the heart behind these experiences. If you've ever wondered, “Is a retreat for me?” or “What actually happens there?”, this episode is your invitation to explore, reflect, and maybe even say yes. What This Episode Is AboutThis conversation isn't just about logistics—it's about the why behind PATH retreats. At its core, a PATH retreat is a real-life extension of the podcast: Not just food, movement, or self-care But the intersection of all of it A living, breathing space to pause, reset, reconnect, and REMIND yourself what matters most The retreat is less about checking boxes and more about creating a menu of experiences—you choose what nourishes you. What to Expect (and What NOT to Expect)Let's demystify it: What it IS: A choose-your-own-adventure weekend A blend of: Gentle movement (like yoga or walking the vineyards) Food + cooking experiences rooted in PATH conversations Breathwork, reflection, and workshops Community, connection and meaningful conversation A space where you can fully be yourself—no expectations What it is NOT: Not a rigid schedule Not a forced participation environment Not a one-size-fits-all wellness experience Not about perfection (this is a “beautiful mess,” just like the podcast!) You can participate in everything… or nothing. You can come energized… or exhausted. You can give… receive… or both. The Deeper InvitationAt its heart, this retreat is about the verb “to retreat”: Step away from the noise Reflect inward Reconnect with what you need Return to your life with renewed perspective It's about creating space to restore, reset, reclaim, reconnect, reMIND yourself. Even a short intentional pause can shift your perspective in powerful ways. It's Okay to Feel Hesitant. Many past attendees felt unsure, nervous, maybe questioning if they'd “fit”. And what happened/// They found their way - They chose what felt right. They left with greater ease, confidence, and connection.Sometimes the biggest growth starts by simply walking through the door. A Glimpse of the ExperienceCampovida, Hopland, California November 13–15Expect: A welcoming Friday evening connection A full Saturday of optional experiences and exploration A grounding Sunday close Alcohol is completely optional, even in a winery setting. The focus is always well-being, not pressure. If something in this episode resonated with you, lean into that feeling. You don't have to “have it all figured out.” You don't have to be ready. Just be willing. Because sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do… is create space to come back to ourselves.Ready? You can apply here. Need more inspo? See the Magical Campovida

What if the place you've been hiding is the very place grace wants to find you? In this powerful message, we explore the story of Mephibosheth in 2 Samuel 9 — a man wounded by life, hidden in Lo-debar, and convinced he was forgotten. Yet while he was hiding, the king was searching for him. This message speaks to anyone carrying pain, shame, rejection, fear, or emotional wounds that shaped how they see themselves. Through the Gospel, we discover that Jesus still invites broken people to the table — not because they earned it, but because covenant made a way. In this teaching, we talk about: • How wounds shape identity • Why the enemy attacks identity first • The healing power of grace • What “Lo-debar” looks like today • Jesus healing the brokenhearted • The invitation to leave isolation and come to the King's table No matter how far you feel from purpose, hope, or belonging — God has not forgotten your name. Key Scriptures: 2 Samuel 9:1–13 Psalm 34:18 Isaiah 61:1 Romans 8:15 2 Corinthians 12:9 Matthew 11:28 John 10:10 If this message encouraged you, be sure to like, subscribe, and share it with someone who needs hope today. #Faith #Jesus #Grace #Healing #ChristianMessage #BibleTeaching #Gospel #Brokenhearted

I had the wonderful opportunity to lead candlelight at a local revival. We spent the evening reflect on the history of communion and Paul's words to the church of Corinth.
In this episode of When the Scriptures Become Real, inspired by my weekend at Lads2Leaders, we talk about the invitation God gives that most people feel disqualified or frustrated to accept. This isn't a table for the perfect. It's for the hungry. The weary. The ones who feel like they've messed up too much or drifted too far. sometime we get tired of coming to God in a broken world Through Scripture, we'll see how God has always invited broken people to sit with Him — not after they fix themselves, but while they're still in need.If you've ever felt like you don't belong in God's presence… this episode is for you.Pull up a chair. There's a seat with your name on it.
Resurrection Sunday is about more than celebrating an event…it's about helping us reconnect with what the resurrection means for our lives right now. Jesus didn't just give us a moment to remember once a year…He gave us a rhythm through communion to continually return to what matters most.Follow Coach Dan Holland:Facebook ➡️ https://www.facebook.com/CoachDanHollandYouTube ➡️ @CoachDanHollandVisit us online
