Mel welcomes back her favorite fearless documentary film maker and ultimate dot connector Joel Gilbert to discuss the communist Marxist underbelly hiding in plain site for years, who Obama really us and what happened under his regime, and where we are going from here. Joel's shocking deep dive into the Trayvon Martin case and the egregious persecution of George Zimmerman is even more revealing now as it proves a pattern he clearly exposed years back that has become the go to model for the corrupt legal system that has been hijacked by race baiters and social justice warriors uninterested in truth or justice. Please go to Joel's website www.highway61ent.com or Vimeo NOW to be blown away by Joel's incredible journeys to reveal truth and seek justice outside the corrupt system. Let's also get out and meet each other at Mel's upcoming live in person speaking events: Phoenix AZ - January 14-15 (Reawaken America Tour) Oklahoma City, OK January 22 (Sherwood For Governor - Make Oklahoma Free Rally) Canton, OH February 18-19 (Reawaken America Tour) San Diego, CA March 11-12 (Reawaken America Tour) Redmond, OR - April 1-2 (Reawaken America Tour) See our website events page and follow the link to the events. In this latest episode of Across The Margin: The Podcast, host Michael Shields interviews director Mark Hayes and producer Gabriele Hayes, the filmmakers behind the recently released documentary Skid Row Marathon. Skid Row Marathon tells the tale of a criminal court judge who starts a running club on L.A.’s notorious skid row and begins training a motley group of addicts and criminals to run marathons, and soon lives begin to change. The deeply affecting documentary follows four runners as they rise from the mean streets of L.A. to run marathons around the world, fighting the pull of homelessness and addiction at every turn. Their story is one of hope, friendship, and dignity. In this episode, Michael, Mark, and Gabriele discuss at length the benevolent, inspiring judge at the heart of the film (Judge Craig Mitchell), the many challenges it took to bring the documentary to life (particularly in gaining the trust of the subjects from skid row), the many moving and encouraging life lessons one can learn from the documentary, and much, much more. Skid Row Marathon is available now! At Amazon Prime, Apple TV, Google Play, Fandango Now, and Vimeo Now! More information at SkidRowMarathon.com. Episode 010: A Tale of Two Lightrooms Subscribe via iTunes, Google Play, email or RSS! Thank you for listening to the No Name Photo Show! Connect with Brian Matiash and Sharky James on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook (all @NoNamePhotoShow). Did we mention SUBSCRIBE?!!! Please? ;) Alas, double digits and it feels so good! We've got something special in store for this milestone: our first guest host! From the get go, our goal has been to introduce guests because... guests are cool and cool guests are even cooler. But unlike many other shows that make the episode about the guest, our goal is to bring on guests who become part of the show. So with that, we're thrilled to introduce wedding photographer and the Storm Whisperer himself, Mike Olbinski, to join us for this episode! Fortunately, Adobe made some seriously big announcements with their Lightroom road map last week that provided more than enough fodder for our trio to discuss. Finally, each of our hosts share some pivotal moments from their lives that fundamentally changed their professional directions and led them to become full time, working photographers. All that plus a triple dose of "What's On Your Gear Shelf?" make up Episode 10! Show Notes • Brian and Sharky are thrilled to announce the show's very first guest host, Mike Olbinski. Aside from being a helluva wedding photographer, Mike is also one of the best storm chasers out there and has created some of the most visually stunning time lapse videos that your eyes have ever seen. Seriously, clean your floor because your jaws are about to be hitting them pretty hard. [Vimeo] • Now that you've had a chance to lift your jaws back up and wipe the mess you made on the ground, we can move onto the lil' bit of news coming out of Adobe's camp. In addition to a slew of major updates to their Creative Cloud ecosystem, the company announced a "new" version of Lightroom dubbed "Lightroom CC" with the existing implementation renamed with the lovely moniker, "Lightroom Classic." As you can imagine, this caused a lot of confusion and even more ire with the legion of photographers hoping for a more substantial update. [via the always wonderful Julieanne Kost on the Adobe Blog] • Mike and Sharky weigh in on these changes and lament about how much they wish Lightroom's initial culling experience was faster, similar to what Photo Mechanic provides. [Camera Bits] • After much hullabaloo, the hosts shift gears by recalling some of their more pivotal experiences that led them to leave their existing careers to pursue photography as a primary profession
