So Ace's birthday is April 27th, and we decided to have a celebration with our new friend Space Frehley!  His Ace Tribute Show has been the talk of KISS fans all over and we wanted to take the opportunity to talk with him not only to see how his show came about but also to talk about our love for the Space Man Ace Frehley!

What a thrill to meet the one and only Peter Criss! I'd never met or interviewed him before, and I found him great to talk with! His new solo album is out, and it's fantastic. The music covers the gamut of old rock n' roll, to the blues, to 50's rock, and much more. It's honestly one of the most diverse albums I've heard in a long time. Peter talked to me about the album and the many players on it. This record has been in the works for some time, so it's great that it's out. We also discussed coming back to Detroit Rock City. He's been in town for a few days, taking in everything the city has to offer, including museums and more. I can't say enough about how cool it was of Peter to come by the station. A special thank you to his wife GiGi, and my friends Photo Joe and Nick from Rock City Record Company, where Peter will be signing albums and more on April 24th/25th. Spencer Charnas from Ice Nine Kills was also kind enough to come by the station a week ago. He was in town for Astronomicon and swung by to talk about that and lots more. Being a huge horror movie fan, we did talk about that genre. One of their songs, Twisting the KNife is used in Scream 7. We also talked about his dad's 80s band, Grave Diggler. You need to hear about that, then punch them up on the internet. Spencer told me about opening for Metallica, a possible paranormal sighting in Seattle, and more. This week Tom & Zeus review the 2025 solo album from former KISS founding member and drummer Peter Criss, called "Peter Criss!" Peter's highly anticipated solo album was released on December 19, 2025. The self-titled album is Peter's 6th solo album It features guests, like John 5, Paul Shaffer, Billy Sheehan, Piggy D and more. The album was produced by Peter Criss and Barry Pointer. All lyrics were written by Peter and the music was composed by Peter and Mike McLaughlin who played lead and rhythm guitar on the album, with the exception of the 3 songs that John 5 played on. The album was filled with a variety of songs and styles. However, it is probably the most rock record ever done by Peter Criss. This is the 9th album by KISS members outside of KISS that SIOL has reviewed. As usual they rank the songs and then rank the album and covers against the eight previous KISS member albums outside of KISS. Make sure you hear BOTH opinions because they are NOT the same! Today on the show I speak with author/drummer/musician - Joey Cassata.Joey Cassata is an American based author/drummer/musician who gained notoriety as a player in the early 2000's with his Rock band 'ZO2', the band even becoming the subject of a television series called 'Z-Rock' and exposed him to a large audience worldwide. From there, he continued to climb the ladder of success and became a member of the 'Trans Siberian Orchestra' for 13 years, recorded drums on the late/great Ace Frehley's record '10000 Volts', has an amazing KISS tribute band called 'The Handsome Devils' and was most recently even announced as the new drummer for the latest 'Twisted Sister' tour. Additionally, Joey has a 'KISS' related podcast (Podcast Rock City Live), had an amazing career as an author with his books 'Kiss Drummers', 'The Order Of The Rose' and 'Wrestling With Joeylicious' - to name just a few... So much happened to KISS between the years 1979 and 1981. Dynasty in 79, Unmasked in 80 and Music from the Elder and Killers in 81. Then there is lineup changes. Peter Criss is out Eric Carr is in. Ace Frehley is getting ready to leave. You could right a paper on the music changes, and even the way the band looked went through a huge change. MUSICThe three surviving founding members of KISS -- Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley and Peter Criss -- paid a visit to The White House on Saturday where President Trump recognized them as one of this year's five recipients of the Kennedy Center Honors, which is presented to those in the performing arts for their lifetime of contributions to American culture.
