Die Songs: The Go-Betweens - My Rock´n´Roll Friend The Go-Betweens - Too Much of One Thing The Go-Betweens - Cattle and Cane The Go-Betweens - The House Jack Kerouac Built The Go-Betweens - Draining the Pool The Go-Betweens - Spirit The Go-Betweens - Finding You Robert Forster - Demon Days Robert Forster - Strawberries

Stop, slow down, take a deep breath, pop fans! Before you go Out of Your Mind, we can confirm that what you see is what you get. We are finally doing a whole episode dedicated to Victoria Beckham's solo debut era, which launched 25 years ago this year. Your not-so-innocent pop explorers Joel and David are kicking off in the summer of 2000 with the monumental cultural shift that was Vicky B's UK Garage collab with Truesteppers and Dane Bowers, 'Out of Your Mind'. The whirlwind media saga, a nail-biting chart battle with Sophie Ellis-Bextor and Spiller ('Groovejet'), and a string of outstanding live performances from Party In The Park in Hyde Park to MTV in Mallorca... this set the bar extremely high for Posh Spice's solo debut in a midst of duelling Solo Spice releases and an actual Spice Girls comeback on the horizon! The episode also dives into the underrated 2001 "Victoria Beckham" album. A classy pop and R&B body of work made with some of the world's best songwriters and producers; the album gave us the Top 10 singles 'Not Such An Innocent Girl' and 'A Mind of Its Own'. We revisit the album tracks, music videos, visuals, live performances (hello, G-A-Y), photo shoot and b-sides! We look back at this incredibly intense period in David and Victoria Beckham's public lives - with TV documentaries, Victoria's memoir "Learning To Fly" and more keeping the public, media and pop fans fed. Dare we say, this is the most thorough and celebratory podcast episode dedicated to VB's solo career!Follow Right Back At Ya!https://www.instagram.com/rightbackpod/https://twitter.com/rightbackpodhttps://www.facebook.com/rightbackpodFollow Joelhttps://www.instagram.com/dr_joelb/https://twitter.com/DR_JoelBFollow Davidhttps://www.instagram.com/lovelimmy/https://twitter.com/lovelimmyEmail us rightbackpod@gmail.comSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

#244. Editors' Tom Smith on Debut Solo Album ‘There Is Nothing In The Dark That Isn't There In The Light'

In Episode #244 of the XS Noize Podcast, host Mark Millar chats with Tom Smith — frontman of Editors — about his debut solo album There Is Nothing In The Dark That Isn't There In The Light, released 5 December on Play It Again Sam. After two decades leading Editors through seven acclaimed albums and two records with Smith & Burrows, Tom is stepping into solo territory for the first time. Motivated by a desire to reconnect with the raw, acoustic beginnings of his songwriting, he set out to create something more intimate and personal — a world away from the collaborative nature of his band projects. Produced with Iain Archer, the album blends stripped-back honesty with cinematic flourishes, moving from the nostalgic ache of Lights Of New York City to the soaring drama of Life Is For Living. Along the way, Tom explores themes of memory, resilience, and connection, balancing melancholy with hope. In this episode, Tom talks about finding his voice as a solo artist, the stories and emotions behind these songs, and we also revisit the Editors' back catalogue that made him one of the UK's most distinctive frontmen. Whether you've followed Tom's journey from the very first Editors record or are meeting him here for the first time, this is an intimate and revealing look at an artist entering a bold new chapter. Jamie James is a songwriter and musician who has been making music his whole life, and this Spring, he released his debut solo album, Straight Up, recorded with some longtime bandmates. James has always been into the blues and blues rock, and he's known for his work with Dennis Quaid & The Sharks, longtime collaborations with the late Harry Dean Stanton, and as the frontman of the '80s rockabilly trio The Kingbees. Rejoined with friends Tom Walsh (drums), Ken Stange (organ), and Tom Mancillas (bass), James took a group of songs that he wrote during the pandemic while recovering from open heart surgery to Kitten Robot Studio in Los Angeles. They recorded the ten songs on Straight Up live in the studio in one day only, capturing their years of experience playing together for the album. As an artist now in his 70s, James has a lifetime of perspective to bring not only to his songwriting, but to how he makes and records music, and the big lessons seem to be: Stay creative, stick to what you love, and make music with the people who bring you energy to do more. I spoke to Jamie James about his approach to Straight Up and his love for the blues. The Less We Cared" auftauchen.

Mark Morton Talks Chester Bennington, Solo Album Without The Pain & Lamb Of God's Future On The Loaded Radio Podcast TL;DR: Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton joins the Loaded Radio Podcast to talk about his soulful new solo album Without The Pain, collaborating with late Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, the creative process in Lamb Of God, and his honest thoughts on both current and former bandmates. Mark Morton Unleashes His Blues-Driven Side With Without The Pain Mark Morton isn't just the riff-slinging guitar beast from Lamb Of God. On this week's episode of the Loaded Radio Podcast, the guitarist pulls back the curtain on his newest solo release Without The Pain, a record steeped in blues, southern rock, and emotional depth. Released via Rise Records, Without The Pain features a diverse lineup of guests, including Cody Jinks, Neil Fallon (Clutch), Grace Bowers, Jason Isbell, Charlie Starr (Blackberry Smoke), and Jaren Johnston (The Cadillac Three). It's a sharp turn from the punishing rhythms of Lamb Of God, yet unmistakably Mark Morton. During the podcast, Morton explains how the album was years in the making, allowing him to fully explore the stylistic roots that shaped his musical identity long before he ever set foot on a metal stage.  Collaborating With Chester Bennington: The Story Behind “Cross Off” One of the most emotionally resonant points of the podcast is Morton's reflection on working with late Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington. The two teamed up on “Cross Off,” a standout track from Morton's 2019 debut solo album Anesthetic. Morton opens up about the power of that collaboration — how Bennington brought a raw intensity to the track, and how the session still resonates with him today. Lamb Of God, Sobriety, And Looking Forward Of course, no conversation with Mark Morton is complete without diving into Lamb Of God. In this episode, he shares honest reflections on the band's internal dynamics — both past and present. Morton touches on his long journey with sobriety, how it's impacted his creative process, and how the band's chemistry continues to evolve after more than two decades of making heavy music together. Morton also hints at what's ahead for Lamb Of God, suggesting that while his solo work is a vital creative outlet, there's plenty of fuel left in the fire when it comes to the band's future output. Listen To The Full Interview Want to hear Mark Morton discuss songwriting secrets, guest collaborations, Lamb Of God's legacy, and his love of southern blues? Hit play on the podcast episode below and get the full story straight from the man himself. FAQ Q: What is Without The Pain by Mark Morton? A: It's Mark Morton's second solo album, exploring blues and southern rock influences with a range of guest musicians. Q: Who features on Without The Pain? A: The album includes appearances by Cody Jinks, Neil Fallon, Grace Bowers, Jason Isbell, Jaren Johnston, and more. Q: Did Mark Morton work with Chester Bennington? A: Yes, on the track “Cross Off” from his first solo album Anesthetic in 2019. Q: Is Mark Morton still in Lamb Of God? A: Absolutely. Morton continues to be a key creative force in Lamb Of God while exploring other musical avenues through solo work. Q: What did he say about Chris Adler? A: Morton remains reluctant to discuss the former Lamb Of God drummer and the reasons behind his departure. Mark Morton Bio Mark Morton is the longtime lead guitarist for the Grammy-nominated groove metal band Lamb Of God. Known for his tight, aggressive riffing and technical solos, Morton has been a core part of the band since its early days as Burn the Priest. Outside of Lamb Of God, Mark has carved out a distinct solo identity that explores blues, southern rock, and deeply personal themes. His 2019 debut solo album Anesthetic featured collaborations with artists like Chester Bennington and Jacoby Shaddix, while his 2025 release Without The Pain leans further into heartfelt, roots-driven territory. Morton is also open about his sobriety and personal growth, often using music as a vehicle for emotional expression. He remains one of heavy metal's most versatile and thoughtful guitarists.
