The reviewer is Geoff Barton. “First spins revealed that Gene Simmons' solo LP sounded almost exactly like a Kiss platter, that Ace Frehley's independent attempt sounded well night indistinguishable from a Kiss original, that […]
The boys peel off their filthy lab coats, put down their timeworn scalpels, and take a break from their usual autopsy table shenanigans to review Gene Simmons' dubious ‘78 solo album. It's episode two of a four-part deep-dive into KISS' unprecedented simultaneous solo releases.

„Valerie“ und „While you see a chance“ wurden Hits, Steve Winwood hatte sich neu und verändert präsentiert. John Corabi is a powerhouse rock vocalist and guitarist whose career has spanned more than four decades. Known for his gravelly voice, heartfelt lyrics, and gritty authenticity, Corabi has carved a unique niche in rock and metal history. He first gained attention in the late 1980s with The Scream, a hard rock band that blended bluesy swagger with heavy riffs. Their 1991 debut Let It Scream earned a cult following and showcased Corabi's range and charisma, even as the grunge movement was starting to dominate the airwaves. His biggest break came in 1994, when he was tapped to replace Vince Neil as the lead singer of Mötley Crüe. The resulting self-titled album, Mötley Crüe (1994), marked a radical departure from the band's glam metal roots. With Corabi on vocals and rhythm guitar, the album was darker, heavier, and more musically ambitious. Though it received critical praise and remains a fan favorite, it didn't achieve the commercial success Elektra Records had hoped for, and Corabi left the band in 1997 when Neil returned.Unfazed, Corabi continued to explore new musical paths. He played guitar for Ratt for several years and worked with various artists in projects that allowed him to flex his creative muscles. One notable collaboration was with Union, the band he formed with former KISS guitarist Bruce Kulick. Union released two studio albums that blended classic rock with modern tones, again proving Corabi's versatility and songwriting chops. In the 2010s, Corabi joined The Dead Daisies, a revolving supergroup of rock veterans. With Corabi on vocals, the band released multiple albums, including Revolución (2015) and Burn It Down (2018), which received acclaim for their retro-hard rock sound and powerful performances. His work with the Daisies helped reintroduce him to a new generation of fans, thanks to extensive touring and a polished yet passionate delivery.Corabi is also known for his solo work, where he strips things down to an acoustic, story-driven format. His live shows often include personal anecdotes, behind-the-scenes stories from his time in Mötley Crüe and beyond, and intimate versions of songs spanning his entire career. In 2022, he released John Corabi: Horseshoes and Hand Grenades, an autobiography that pulls no punches in telling his story in his own words.John Corabi is keeping the blues alive and well in 2025, with not one but two major projects lighting up the rock world. First, he's fronting The Dead Daisies on their upcoming blues-drenched album Lookin' For Trouble, and second, he's signed a new solo record deal, marking a fresh chapter in his storied careerSet for release on May 30, 2025, Lookin' For Trouble is The Dead Daisies' first full-length blues album. Born from late-night jam sessions during the recording of their rock album Light 'Em Up, the band—featuring Corabi, Doug Aldrich, David Lowy, Michael Devin, and drummer Sarah Tomek—found themselves immersed in the soulful legacy of the blues. Recording at the iconic FAME Studios in Muscle Shoals, Alabama, they reimagined classics like Robert Johnson's “Crossroads,” John Lee Hooker's “Boom Boom,” and B.B. King's “The Thrill Is Gone” with their signature hard rock flairYou can follow him on social media or check out his latest news at johncorabi.com.

What up Fellas! Also checkt gerne die neue Folge ab!
Mark Morton Talks Chester Bennington, Solo Album Without The Pain & Lamb Of God's Future On The Loaded Radio Podcast TL;DR: Lamb Of God guitarist Mark Morton joins the Loaded Radio Podcast to talk about his soulful new solo album Without The Pain, collaborating with late Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington, the creative process in Lamb Of God, and his honest thoughts on both current and former bandmates. Mark Morton Unleashes His Blues-Driven Side With Without The Pain Mark Morton isn't just the riff-slinging guitar beast from Lamb Of God. On this week's episode of the Loaded Radio Podcast, the guitarist pulls back the curtain on his newest solo release Without The Pain, a record steeped in blues, southern rock, and emotional depth. Released via Rise Records, Without The Pain features a diverse lineup of guests, including Cody Jinks, Neil Fallon (Clutch), Grace Bowers, Jason Isbell, Charlie Starr (Blackberry Smoke), and Jaren Johnston (The Cadillac Three). It's a sharp turn from the punishing rhythms of Lamb Of God, yet unmistakably Mark Morton. During the podcast, Morton explains how the album was years in the making, allowing him to fully explore the stylistic roots that shaped his musical identity long before he ever set foot on a metal stage. Collaborating With Chester Bennington: The Story Behind “Cross Off” One of the most emotionally resonant points of the podcast is Morton's reflection on working with late Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington. The two teamed up on “Cross Off,” a standout track from Morton's 2019 debut solo album Anesthetic. Morton opens up about the power of that collaboration — how Bennington brought a raw intensity to the track, and how the session still resonates with him today. Lamb Of God, Sobriety, And Looking Forward Of course, no conversation with Mark Morton is complete without diving into Lamb Of God. In this episode, he shares honest reflections on the band's internal dynamics — both past and present. Morton touches on his long journey with sobriety, how it's impacted his creative process, and how the band's chemistry continues to evolve after more than two decades of making heavy music together. Morton also hints at what's ahead for Lamb Of God, suggesting that while his solo work is a vital creative outlet, there's plenty of fuel left in the fire when it comes to the band's future output. Listen To The Full Interview Want to hear Mark Morton discuss songwriting secrets, guest collaborations, Lamb Of God's legacy, and his love of southern blues? Hit play on the podcast episode below and get the full story straight from the man himself. FAQ Q: What is Without The Pain by Mark Morton? A: It's Mark Morton's second solo album, exploring blues and southern rock influences with a range of guest musicians. Q: Who features on Without The Pain? A: The album includes appearances by Cody Jinks, Neil Fallon, Grace Bowers, Jason Isbell, Jaren Johnston, and more. Q: Did Mark Morton work with Chester Bennington? A: Yes, on the track “Cross Off” from his first solo album Anesthetic in 2019. Q: Is Mark Morton still in Lamb Of God? A: Absolutely. Morton continues to be a key creative force in Lamb Of God while exploring other musical avenues through solo work. Q: What did he say about Chris Adler? A: Morton remains reluctant to discuss the former Lamb Of God drummer and the reasons behind his departure. Mark Morton Bio Mark Morton is the longtime lead guitarist for the Grammy-nominated groove metal band Lamb Of God. Known for his tight, aggressive riffing and technical solos, Morton has been a core part of the band since its early days as Burn the Priest. Outside of Lamb Of God, Mark has carved out a distinct solo identity that explores blues, southern rock, and deeply personal themes. His 2019 debut solo album Anesthetic featured collaborations with artists like Chester Bennington and Jacoby Shaddix, while his 2025 release Without The Pain leans further into heartfelt, roots-driven territory. Morton is also open about his sobriety and personal growth, often using music as a vehicle for emotional expression. He remains one of heavy metal's most versatile and thoughtful guitarists.

Stephen Pearcy & RATT: Still Biting BackStephen Pearcy, the unmistakable voice of RATT, has never stopped flying the flag for 80s hard rock. As the founding frontman of the Sunset Strip legends, Pearcy helped define the sound of an era with hits like “Round and Round,” “Lay It Down,” and “Back for More.” Even as RATT's lineup shifted over the decades, Pearcy has kept the legacy alive through solo records, reunion shows, and that signature snarl fans can't get enough of.Back with Warren DeMartiniIn a move that has RATT fans buzzing, Pearcy is back on stage with iconic RATT guitarist Warren DeMartini. While a full RATT reunion with the original classic lineup seems unlikely, this pairing alone brings a ton of excitement. Warren's slick, melodic leads were always a core part of the band's signature sound, and seeing him jam with Pearcy again is a nostalgic thrill—and maybe a hint at more to come.6th Solo Album in the WorksStephen Pearcy is currently working on his 6th solo album, and it's shaping up to be something special. Not only is Warren DeMartini involved, but there's also talk of Jake E. Lee (Ozzy Osbourne, Badlands) potentially contributing. Pearcy has hinted that the record will blend new material with some unreleased tracks from the vault, giving fans both fresh fire and classic vibes. No official release date yet, but it's clear he's crafting something fans will want to crank loud.Golden Robot Records Legacy UpdatePreviously, Pearcy signed with Golden Robot Records for a legacy album, expected to be a retrospective mix of past RATT tracks, live cuts, and rarities. While that project has seen some delays, it's reportedly still on the table. Pearcy has shifted focus to the new solo album first, suggesting the legacy release may follow later. For fans waiting to relive the glory days, it'll be worth the wait. Why Just Warren? Some fans are wondering—where's Bobby Blotzer or Juan Croucier? According to Pearcy, there are no plans to reunite the full classic lineup. Personal and legal conflicts, particularly surrounding the RATT name and branding, have made that reunion complicated. But Pearcy says he's focused on moving forward with musicians he gels with—and for now, that means jamming with Warren, someone he shares deep musical chemistry and history with.Stay ConnectedWant the latest from Stephen Pearcy? Joey McIntyre of New Kids on the Block talks about the release of his new solo album “FREEDOM” live with Billy Costa of Kiss 108 in front of a live audience of hometown fans at Newbury Comics in Boston's historical Faneuil Hall Marketplace. The singer discusses his motivation to make music autonomously, balancing his solo career with his time with the New Kids, making an album with no collabs, being a dad to his musically-gifted son Griffin McIntyre, his next phase of touring solo, and planning the New Kids' Vegas Residency.
The pianist Samson Tsoy makes his solo debut on record with an album for Linn, 'Inmost Heart'. Built around Brahms's Variations and Fugue on a Theme by Handel, the programme explores Brahms's fascination with the Baroque, but also how his music was later transcribed by Reger and Busoni. This Gramophone Podcast is given in association with Wigmore Hall James Jolly visited Samson at his North London home to talk about the new album, his journey from Kazakhstan to London via Moscow, and how he plans to incorporate music from the album into his concert programmes.
Dick Valentine stands as an icon among modern rock frontmen, recognized for his flamboyant stage presence, witty lyricism, and audacious creative spirit. As lead vocalist of Electric Six, he guides the band's explosive blend of rock, new wave, and disco influences with a flair that both entertains and provokes. Valentine's distinctive voice and charismatic performances reflect a boundary-pushing approach to songwriting, full of biting satire and over-the-top theatrics. Offstage, he channels his relentless imagination into solo albums, delivering stripped-down, intimate tracks showcasing his vocal versatility. Beyond the music, Valentine's creativity expands into fiction writing, where his narrative style captures the same off-kilter energy that resonates within his stage persona. The juxtaposition of his comedic charm and poignant social commentary gives his art a unique, refreshing edge. Forever evolving yet consistently surprising, Dick Valentine remains an influential figure, commanding attention with his fearless experimentation and unwavering dedication to showmanship and innovation. We were lucky enough to have Dick stop by Thunderlove Studio recently to discuss his illustrious career and his new album, The Final Musician. Here is our conversation with Dick Valentine. Way back in Episode 67, I had the pleasure of speaking with Maiah Wynne about her involvement with Envy of None, a project featuring Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson, on which she sang lead vocals. Maiah is back with her debut solo album, and the talented singer-songwriter has made an exquisite first solo impression with Out of the Dark, a heartbreakingly beautiful collection of songs that span 10 years of her life. In addition to discussing the album's songs track by track, Maiah was kind enough to talk about what's next for Envy of None, some of her struggles that led to the new album's themes, Lifeson's involvement on some of the songs on her album, learning about making videos, and more.
