Former Alabama quarterback Andrew Zow joins Joe Lisi on THE WEEKLY BLITZ to discuss his great career in Tuscaloosa. Andrew Zow played for the Alabama Crimson Tide from 1998-2001 and threw for 5,983 yards and 35 touchdowns. Zow had a big arm and led the Crimson Tide back in some of the most memorable victories in Alabama history. Zow had great pocket awareness and was able to fit the ball through tight windows in locating his receivers. Zow was a mobile quarterback who was dangerous when he broke contain outside the pocket. Some of Andrew's victories include: In 1998, Zow led the Crimson Tide back in a memorable 4th quarter against LSU in Death Valley as Alabama won 22-17. In 1999, Zow engineered the victory in the Swamp against the top ranked Florida Gators 40-39 in overtime. In the 2001 Independence Bowl against Iowa State, Andrew connecteed with Terry Jones Jr. on a late touchdown pass to give the Crimson Tide the victory 14-13 in the bowl game. Andrew showed great composure in big games and played his best against superior competition. Currently, Zow is the head football coach at Montevallo High School located in Montevallo, Alabama.
