Skip the banter: 00:05:50 (depends on ads in beginning) It started with a young woman left for dead on the side of a road in Oklahoma, her blue high heel abandoned in the street. But the investigation into her so-called hit-and-run revealed a far more disturbing truth—this woman wasn't who anyone thought she was. What followed was a years-long unraveling of stolen identities, a child kidnapped from school at gunpoint, and a predator who used aliases the way most people use passwords. The woman known as Tonya Hughes had been kidnapped as a child and held captive for fifteen years by the man who later claimed to be her husband. Allison tells us the rest of this story, one with a dark twist buried somewhere near the Texas border. Support us and become a Patron! Skip the banter: 00:04:48 When Kari Baker was found dead in her bed, her husband, a respected Baptist preacher, told police it was a suicide. A typed note, a bottle of sleeping pills, and a tragic history of loss all seemed to confirm his story. But Kari's mother couldn't shake the feeling that something was deeply wrong, and when she started digging, things didn't add up. What began as quiet suspicion turned into a full investigation that uncovered a disturbing past, a hidden relationship, and a plan far more sinister than anyone imagined. In this first installment of The Rescue, Captain Jason Shaw and Sergeant Vincent C-Benoit of 435 Transport and Rescue Squadron take us inside the world of Canadian search and rescue operations. From their early days in the Canadian Army and Air Force - including deployments to Afghanistan and Bosnia - to the rigorous training pipeline for pilots and SAR Techs, Jason and Vince share how they became leaders in one of the most demanding trades in the RCAF.They walk us through the skills, mindset, and teamwork required to fly the CC-130H Hercules into some of the harshest environments in Canada. Along the way, they recount intense training experiences, mountain rescues, operational jumps, and life-or-death missions that prepared them for one of the most dramatic rescues of recent years: the Air Tindi crash in the Northwest Territories. This episode is Part 1 of their story, focusing on careers, training, and earlier rescues that set the stage for the high-stakes mission at the heart of this two-part series.

Skip the banter: 00:07:00 (give or take ~30 seconds depending on ads) In 1998, Tom and Eileen Lonergan boarded a dive boat in Australia expecting a day exploring the coral-covered depths of the Great Barrier Reef. Instead, they surfaced to find the ocean empty—no boat, no crew, no one. What followed was a string of errors, oversights, and assumptions that left the couple stranded at sea, invisible to the very people who were supposed to ensure their safety. Theories about what happened in those final hours have never stopped swirling: were they victims of incompetence, a murder-suicide, or something they planned all along? Allison tells us the rest of this story that hinges on one fatal miscount and a message that might've been written just in time. Skip the banter: 00:04:34 (give or take a minute depending on ads) This case is especially close to us as Mike's sister was originally scheduled to work on the day of this massacre. We'll tell you all the details. On a freezing February morning in 2008, five women were executed in the back room of a Lane Bryant store in Tinley Park, Illinois. A sixth survived by pretending to be dead. The man responsible walked in without a mask, stayed for nearly an hour, and left behind duct tape, trauma, and almost no evidence. Seventeen years later, despite a witness and a police response within minutes, he's still unidentified. Allison tells us the rest of the story that changed one Chicago suburb forever—and how a twist of fate saved someone very close to our family. Support us and become a Patron! In this episode of The Living Artist podcast, Preston talks about the importance of upgrading our "filters" as artists. In order to function as our best selves, artistic and otherwise, we need to learn what elements and information are not serving us well and then eradicate them from our lives. Preston uses the analogy of a bucket filling up, similar to the one used to describe chronic illness. We need to constantly be emptying our bucket, so we can function at our absolute best. Otherwise, toxicity of all sorts can take control of the wheel, leading us down a path that could be detrimental to our health and artistic careers. Listen in and learn how to empty your bucket, as well as upgrade your filter. Enjoy! For more information on Preston M. Skip the banter: 00:05:11 (depending on ads) Ted Ammon built a fortune in private equity and a life most people only dream about. But one weekend, in the quiet luxury of his East Hampton mansion, that life ended violently. The timing couldn't have been worse. He was finalizing a messy divorce, and someone close to him had just gained access to every corner of his home.
