And in the NIL and transfer portal era, do championship contenders even have enough roster depth to survive an elite schedule and a playoff run? Plus, we break down the latest in Alabama athletics:

The Alabama Crimson Tide's recruiting machine hits a rare snag—can Kalen DeBoer's staff fix critical gaps in the trenches before the May 29 visit bonanza? Star prospects like Mitchell Turner and John Meredith headline a must-win weekend as Alabama battles concerns over the lack of offensive tackle and defensive line recruiting dominance, shaking the foundation that powered past championship runs. Elijah Havens and Trent Seaborn lead a quality six-man commitment list, with high-upside defensive lineman Avrian Pauley deserving more attention, and versatile athletes like Colt Lumpus and Kenneth Simon II adding upside. Is this enough to offset glaring concerns at offensive line and defensive tackle? With top prospects like Monshun Sales, Hayden Step, and Malik Howard set to visit, all eyes are on whether Alabama can restore its recruiting edge—or risk falling behind SEC rivals in the race for future national titles. Lance joins the show from his European River Cruise! The 2026 NFL Draft Round One is in the books and the Alabama Crimson Tide has extended an impressive streak. The Miami Dolphins selected Alabama offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor with pick 12 extending an Alabama Football streak of first round selections to 18 consecutive years and the streak of multiple first round selections to ten consecutive years. That second streak continued because the Los Angeles Rams selected Alabama Football QB Ty Simpson with pick 13, a surprise to many that Simpson went that high. Simpson had been a large focus of the night as the presumed second QB off the board but many analysts thought he'd go lower than 13. How does Lance feel about Ty Simpson joining his LA Rams roster? PLUS, LIVE coverage of the annual Flora-Bama Mullet Toss with Mick Gillispie! The Auburn Tigers are back in the first round. Edge Keldric Faulk was picked by the Tennessee Titans who traded back into the first round to select the Auburn Football pass rusher. Faulk is Auburn's first first round pick since Derrick Brown was selected by the Carolina Panthers in 2020. PLUS, Tyler's Viewing Menu presented by Michelson Laser Vision! Alabama high school football recruiting faces a seismic shift as elite recruits like Jabarrius Garror and Ai'King Hall opt for out-of-state programs, lured by lucrative NIL deals from schools like Oregon, Texas A&M, and Miami. Brian Smith questions whether the Alabama Crimson Tide and Auburn Tigers should keep paying top dollar to keep local talent home, or if business decisions demand more strategic investments—especially when players may not play early. Key insights include analysis of the top 10 Alabama prospects, Auburn and Alabama's evolving NIL strategies, and how winning on the field impacts recruiting. Brian Smith explores the politics of recruiting relationships, the critical need to land in-state linemen, and whether the new approach will boost or cripple Auburn and Alabama's SEC ambitions. How much does it really cost to keep Alabama Football competing at the highest level in the NIL era? In this video, we break down the growing NIL arms race in college football and what it means for the Alabama Crimson Tide. Courtney Morgan and Greg Byrne have made it clear that the financial pressure is real, with estimates suggesting it could take around $40 million to build and maintain a true championship-caliber roster. If Alabama already has one of the top athletic budgets in the country, why are other programs still pulling ahead? We also dive into the debate over a freshman NIL salary cap and why that idea is gaining support. Is it smart to pay unproven high school players more than $1 million before they ever take a meaningful snap, or is college football creating a dangerous market that rewards hype over production? On top of that, we discuss player retention, transfer portal frustration, and why losing proven veterans stings even more when they take shots at Alabama on the way out. From Tim Smith's departure to bigger concerns about roster management, this conversation gets into the real challenges of keeping talent in Tuscaloosa. And finally, we look at the Alabama quarterback competition between Austin Mack and Keelon Russell. Who has the edge, how do offensive coaches usually handle these battles, and why does picking a starter early matter so much for locker room chemistry and offensive stability? If you follow Alabama Football, college football NIL, the transfer portal, or the future of roster building in the SEC, this is a discussion you do not want to miss. #AlabamaFootball #RollTide #KeelonRussell #AustinMack #NIL #CollegeFootball #SECFootball #TransferPortal #GregByrne #CourtneyMorgan Learn more about your ad choices.
