What God is doing through the exciting lives and adventures of the kids at Calvary Church of Pacific Palisades!
Amy Pendergraft, James Browning
At Awana we recently learned a little lesson in Joy with help from some of our friends (and a muppet with a song)...
Special guest, "Justin Bieber" joins the news team as they recap the recent events involving Joshua and the nation of Israel...
In this week's episode, James receives a great gift from Pickles the Porcupine... himself! Pickles shares Jesus in his own life with James showing him love in the process!
Today, our host (me!) takes us through a reenactment of the time Elijah stood up to King Ahab and Queen Jezebel and was willing to deliver God's message. We learned that a prophet is willing to deliver God's message whether it's good or bad news. Also we learned from James chapter 5 that Elijah was a regular guy just like you and me, but he prayed in faith and it didn't rain for 3 and 1/2 years! That means that the power comes from God and not us, it also means that God can answer our prayers too!
There is a big ruckus in the forest today as Ben the Bear challenges everyone to a rock throwing contest. He even challenges God! Well Daniel the Rabbit isn't about to stand for that. This episode was written and filmed by Nicholas Falk
Late one night Penny and Stephen are coming home. The night is dark, its late, and there are all sorts of scary creatures about. At first everyone is scared but then Stephen remembers what the Bible has to say about trusting in God and then they start to see things in a different way...
Trust and NintendoToday the kids learn that God doesn't always answer prayers the way you think that he will but he is always trustworthy...
Today the forest friends learn that not only is it a blessing to serve others, but sometimes its good to let others serve you, even when you don't deserve it.
Class is in session...In John 13 we see Jesus washing the feet of the disciples. This action, like the parables that we have been talking about is meant to teach his followers a lesson. In this case, the lesson is that the servant is not greater than the master. And if our Lord and master can humble himself to the point of serving others through washing their feet, and even humbling himself to the point of dying on the cross for their sins then we also ought to serve others.Today the kids try real hard to show off in class until they realize just who the teacher was and who the students were...
Part 1In part 1 we find two different people with the same birthday. I'm pretty sure that most of the details about the parties are made up. But we'll have to see what happens in the next episode...
Just for anyone who has ever wanted to know what it looks like inside the cabin, Chippy the Chipmunk gives us a tour of what it looks like inside! So come on in and stay awhile
Luke 14:15-24 tells the parable of the banquet. A lot of people were invited but many were thought that they were too good to accept the invitation. And so it went out to everyone. Its the same way with us and God's invitation to salvation. Some people think that they are good enough to get to heaven. So good that they don't need to accept Jesus Christ as their savior, as their invitation to heaven. And so only the poor and needy, only the people who realize that they need Jesus really get to go.Even though Slither wasn't as cool as Rocky, he is the one who gets to go to the party. That's one lucky snake.
This week we have another special guest... Susie! And it's a good thing because the forest friends needed a little bit of a reminder of the story of the prodigal son in Luke 15. God loves it when those who were lost are found. He never makes them come home, but he always welcomes them with a big party when they are willing to come. No matter how far away you've gone, the Father is watching for you and ready to forgive you. He loves you that much!
In Luke 15 we hear about the Pharisees grumbling about the people that Jesus was hanging out with. So Jesus teaches these 3 parables. See if you can find out why he is teaching them, the main character is in each one, and what the point of the parable is. In today's adventure we find a similar story. This time the main character is Chloe, and we learn (hopefully) that Chloe doesn't want to start the party with anyone missing.
Cammy the Camel certainly learned the lesson of being thankful for God's grace from the story of the 10 lepers in the Bible. And the rest of us learned that Firedog might have fleas.
In Numbers 22 we find the story of Balaam and the talking donkey. In this episode the kids decide to make a movie about this story. They just can't decide who the main character is...
The last video in our series on prayer gets a little extreme...In the lesson we learned the story from Daniel 10. God gave Daniel a vision that really bothered him and confused him. So he started to pray about it. He prayed and fasted for 3 whole weeks and finally an angel showed up saying that God had sent him from the moment that Daniel first started praying (3 weeks earlier) but he had been fighting with "the prince of persia" the entire time and had only now escaped to deliver the message. When we pray in extreme ways, God answers in extreme ways, sometimes in ways we least expect...
It's almost Christmas time and everyone is getting ready for their pageants, plays, or concerts. The kids in Ecuador are no exception...
It is tim the Crocodile's birthday but somebody stole his candy! We learn that confession must be made for forgiveness. And we learn that we need to forgive others just like Jesus Christ forgave us.Written by and starring Chloe and Eli
Some of the kids in Misahualli Ecuador are praying and this is what they pray about!
When Jesus prayed, he called God "Father." And then he says that we can too!
The Palisades Prayer Club Prayer Warriors meeting is in session. Today they discuss why they pray. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask anything in my name I will do it.John 14:13, 14
The kids in Ecuador describe what they think heaven will be like. We know that since God is spiritual that Heaven is a spiritual place. Not the same as physical places like Mars, Canada, Outer Space, or even Disneyland. But one day there will be a new heaven and a new earth where we will have our physical bodies made perfect again.I John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
