She was supposed to be traveling to Kenya with the The Global Autism Project, a 501(c) 3 nonprofit organization dedicated to bridging the global gap in the resources and understanding of autism. Millions of people with autism are stigmatized, isolated, abused, and even killed because there is no understanding of autism in their communities. Their mission is to empower communities worldwide to address the needs of individuals affected by autism through education, outreach, training, and the promotion of acceptance and compassion.
