The Family attorney, Ben Crump, will be here tonight to explain how the walk home for Kadarius Smith ended up in his death.  Florida's Supreme Court will allow a 6-week abortion ban to take effect, for now, as it ruled voters can vote on a proposed state constitution amendment about abortion rights in November. Winnipeg's Real Estate Podcast (Audio versions)

Hello…this is Bo Kauffmann of Remax in Winnipeg, with your real estate news for…  Celebrity Sunday, April 2nd, 2023…   Today is World Autism Day, National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day, and National Reconcilliation Day.   Whenever a huge event, like a Super Bowl comes to a city, rental rates go thru the roof for that week or month.  But this is ridiculous   Turns out the owner of a 6,000 sq ft home in Paradise Valley  , an affluent area in Phoenix, had no intention of renting his home out, let alone rent it during super bowl. But then the agent for Rhianna came calling with a sweetheart offer.  As you recall, Rhianna performed at the Super Bowl this year and needed a pad to crash between rehearsals.  The offer:  $500,000 for ONE WEEK.    Singer Avril Lavigne has put her 3500 sq ft Malibu Home on the market for a cool 12 million.  The home was built in 1968 and sits on just over half an acre.   Over the past 2 decades, actor Brad Pitt had purchased several adjoining properties amounting to just under 2 acres.  This week he sold the whole thing to an unidentified buyer for 40 million dollars.   Closer to home, a 3500 sq ft Tuxedo home sold for just shy of 2 Million dollars.  Noteworthy:  The wine cooler in the basement was specifically excluded..

Cheryl is Tax Leader in our Talent Alignment Group and the mother of two boys ages 11 and 8. Her 8-year-old was diagnosed with autism when he was five. Debbie is Manager in State and Local Tax group and the mother of two boys ages 8 and 5, both diagnosed with autism. Through conversations at work, the founding PAC members realized they had a commonality of having atypical children and immediately hopped on a call to establish PAC as a support and resource group – many members saying they wished they had a resource group available when they were going through the diagnosis process. Both Debbie and Cheryl acknowledged that connecting with other parents who are on the same journey is extremely valuable. Although a newly formed group, PAC has quite a few upcoming initiatives including virtual walks to support autism awareness, creating resources for sensory friendly activities, driving awareness for National Disability Month in October and tools for financial planning. Listen to the latest Life at DHG podcast to hear Cheryl and Debbie share their experiences raising children with autism, how they advocate for their children and myths they want to dispel about autism. A monthly roundup of films and events coming soon to the historic Metro Cinema in Edmonton, Alberta. As well as an overall look at the calendar for April with some of our regular contributors - Owen Armstrong, Heather Noel, Talicia Dutchin - this episode also features interviews with Panorama: Latin American Cinema curator Andrea Barragán, and Sally Poulsen, who brings Seeing The Unseen in acknowledgment of World Autism Day. NOTE: Due to developments regarding COVID-19 following the recording of this episode, we understand that many of the films discussed, if not all, will not be screened in the month of April. Instead, we urge our listeners to find these films and watch them in the midst of our current social isolation, if at all possible. Many streaming services can be accessed with a free 14-day trial, including criterionchannel.com, which is currently streaming both Safe, and Come and See, and First Reformed can also be found on Crave. Otherwise, we hope that we are at least able to provide informative discussion and opinion in light of circumstances beyond our control. Throughout the episode, you'll also hear music from local artists Mark Templeton, Soft Ions, excerpts from Leonard J. Paul's excellent procedural film score to Beep - A Documentary History Of Game Sound, and also Brighton's Mighty Lord Deathman.
