A lot of weird things can happen when you work in a retail store. You can ask anyone who's worked retail for a while, and they will have some stories. My daughter worked at a popular clothing store for a while here in Florida. She worked mostly around the fitting rooms. And she was constantly amazed – and annoyed – at the things people would do in those little rooms where you try on clothes. Oh yeah, some people would just leave the place a big mess. But there were other customers who took it a step further – and whatever you're imagining right now, you're probably correct. But what if you're working in a retail environment, just a regular day, and you turn around and see a man with a gun pointed at you? How do you think you would react? Jen knows exactly what she would do, because that's exactly what happened to her one day at work. Jen told this story on the podcast more than 3 years ago, which means this is a Flashback episode. After you hear her story, I'll play a brief conversation I had with Jen just recently about what's going on with her these days.

Start your Halloweekend with some listener-submitted costumes! Brendan kicks off this episode by sharing a few "Feedback Friday" emails with Andy, including one about getting caught playing behind a "golf influencer shooting content at a Bay Area course" this week. Andy comes to the defense of this anonymous content creator, providing some reasons for why said creator was perhaps playing slowly. Gary Player made headlines after declaring himself the third-best golfer ever and Andy believes this can-do attitude is what made the Black Knight so great in the first place. PJ then joins in to help Brendan run through the listener submissions for this year's Halloween costume contest. Highlights include someone actually dressing up as PJ, and hypothetical costumes such as "Collin Morikawa's dog," "Championship Rain," "PGA Tour Comms," "Tony Jacklin looking for equity," and much more. In this special edition of Atlanta Soccer Flashback, Jason Longshore traces Maradona's life through its triumphs and turmoil — the boy who played barefoot in Buenos Aires, the man who lifted Argentina and Napoli to immortality, and the legend who reminded us all that “La pelota no se mancha” — the ball does not get stained. ORIGINAL AIR DATE: OCT 26, 2018“Samhain” (pronounced "sow-in," with the "ow" like in "cow," or “sow-een,” with “ow” as in “glow”) is an Irish Gaelic term for the time of "summer's end,” as well as a festival to mark the end of the harvest season and the onset of winter which, in the Gaelic / Celtic calendar, marked the beginning of the year. Because the Celtic day began and ended at sunset, not sunrise, the festival was traditionally celebrated from October 31 to November 1. Sanhaim is the ancient backdrop to Halloween, not only in terms of the calendar, but also in terms of basically all the modern elements of that holiday. This episode investigates the history of Samhain and its curious links to the ancient biblical worldview of demons, giants, and the realm of the dead.Articles for this episode:In public domain, via archive.org, from Hastings' Encyclopædia of Religion and Ethics (ed.
