Recorded at the CROMA festival. Tony Holmquist on fiddle, John Walkenbush on guitar and Richard (?)
A fiddle tune often played by fiddler James Bryan. This multitrack recording is a "skeleton" version of the tune [just can't hit all the fiddle 8th notes anymore] and features melody banjo and fiddle in the first round and throughout, guitar starting with latter part of round one, and bass and lightly played clawhammer rhythm starting in the second round. Earbuds improve audibility of all the parts.
A nice tune I've been learning, playing it on the cigar box fiddle's 9th birthday.

I've owned my Antonio Giuliani Primo from Kennedy Violin for 2 1/2 months. My first fiddle. I put Fiddlerman strings on it (Perlon core). I've been able to pick out some tunes that I know on the banjo that I took up 7 years ago and this is one of them. I'm using the Giuliani wood bow (72 ounces) that came with the outfit.

About a month ago, I uploaded a first recording. Since then, I literally took a week off work to work on my fiddling. My aim was to reach a basic level of comfort and familiarity with the instrument. I'm satisfied with my progress so far.

A multitrack recording of my slow and simple version of this Lynn Morris tune, where I'm playing clawhammer banjo (Enoch 12" Tradesman with Rickard Dobson tone ring, Double D), fiddle (low G tuned up to A), guitar, and bass. This version is more Old Time. Mostly banjo in this one, though fiddle is audible in the third round. As always, the bass will sound better with better headphones / earbuds / speakers.

A quick recording made on the 4th of July, triple-tracked on a Zoom H4n. I learned this version mostly from the playing of the Canote brothers.

A syrupy twin fiddle version of Blackberry Waltz, a tune I got from Fred Stoneking. Apparently it was written and recorded in the 30's by Nonnie Presson and the Perry County Music Makers. Pretty tune! Twin fiddles by Nick Bachman.

Multitrack recording with fiddle (AEAE), banjo, guitar, and bass.
AEAE on the fiddle, playing up in second postion mostly. G modal tuning on banjo with a capo on two and the fifth string tuned up to A. Guitar and fiddle sticks.
Played in AEAE. Messed up here and there, but... well that's the way it goes.
