Went to BRLN. Red lights. I wanted this to happen. So I made it happen.
2014 remix I never put up for some reason. It's epic. Fans can download

Another year, another take on Take on Me. I've been using this track as a barometer for how far my mixing and mastering skills improve each year. Each year I create a better version of this track from its original RAW studio takes to hope to at least equal or better the original mix whilst also make it more DJ friendly and add some subtle twists. This year my benchmark was the 2015 video mix remaster - which I consider the gold standard for this track. A/Bing this was a hoot - I've finally matched the snaps and general sonic signature whilst making it more saturated and modern - in line with the 80s new wave revival from The Weekend (whose A-ha cribbing Blinding Lights beats I've subtly repurposed in this mix - as the only non-original element). I think it's a vast step up from my previous efforts and I hope I make it even better next year.
The night I ruined Cloudland by making too many people happy. Yet they wanted me back :o (for parties only)
Quick two hour set of house so was able to experiment and mash on the fly.
A rare fully original remix. Wasn't sure about it until I saw the dancefloors going nuts when I played it.

Giving this track the EPIC rework it deserves.

*** FOR DJ USE ONLY *** This is a mash of my reconstructed House of Pain - Jump Around to include Kris Kross - Jump, as I would more often than not mix them together anyway. The result has been dancefloor tested and it's a guaranteed heater. DJ Muggs from Cypress Hill made the beat for “Jump Around” and played it for a few of his friends, like Ice Cube, who passed on it . Everlast wrote the rhymes and it became a House Of Pain demo, famously dismissed by Joe “The Butcher” Nicolo, whose own Ruffhouse Records later “coincidentally” released the song “Jump” by the group Kris Kross (also produced by Muggs). This earned the record exec the nickname “Joe The Biter,” as heard at the end of the album version of “Jump Around”.

Fourth time revisiting this remix I originally did in 2005 in GarageBand. It still slaps.
