SERIES 3 EPISODE 37: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:44) SPECIAL COMMENT: I am only reading tea leaves here but Trump's panicked post yesterday about how HE did everything right on January 6th but the "deep state" let him down, followed by his afternoon lie about how Nancy Pelosi ignored his offers of troops MAY imply that he's gotten some sense of the evidentiary brief Jack Smith filed to Judge Chutkan before yesterday's deadline. I'm guessing that Smith is going to try to start by proving that long before January 6th Trump knew damn well that he had lost the election and thus no act he took to get a recount or challenge it was an "official act" and thus immune but simply a personal one for which he'll have to face charges. Smith's filing remains under seal. MEANWHILE BACK AT THE RANCH: So New York Mayor Eric Adams allegedly sold himself to Turkey's dictator for only about $17,000 a year? Adams is a messianic idiot and his "I'm not resigning" press conference began with him being shouted down by a critic with a bullhorn, and his defense seems to have been damaged by his niece telling everybody to stop criticizing the Mayor because Jesus put him there. AND LIKE I SAID: They published the "Iran Trump Hack" yesterday and it wasn't a big deal but the newspapers all made a big show over martyring themselves for supposed journalistic principles when in fact they weren't even sacrificing one good story. ALSO: Brian Ray has done a new version of the theme! We'll premiere it Monday but there's a quick tease here, just for you. B-Block (28:00) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: NYC Mayor doubleheader! Adams indicted, Giuliani disbarred. Media management suck up Dylan Byers accuses me of "rushing" to reveal something I actually stayed quiet about for more than a decade. And Clay Higgins managed to both try to walk back his racist, stochastic terror comments about Haitians AND double down on them at the same time! C-Block (35:13) FRIDAYS WITH THURBER: Muggs isn't the sweetest dog Thurber ever wrote about. But he may be the most memorable: "The Dog That Bit People."See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

SEASON 2 EPISODE 161: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:44) SPECIAL COMMENT: Justice Juan Merchan MUST put Trump's ass in jail for violating the gag order - even if it's only one hour at Rikers Island. Trump is determined to break Merchan, break the New York Court, break the Criminal Justice System. He is a cornered and wounded animal and this is life-or-death for him. Think of a cockroach - only with thumbs. So it's him or us that gets broken, and Merchan has to make sure it isn't us. Trump tried to finesse the gag order by quoting somebody else – this worm Watters from Fox – denigrating the jurors and the judge and adding to the pile of stochastic inducements to violence against anyone who thwarts Trump. And by morning one of the jurors – the silhouette of their name and the vague depiction of their home – was quitting out of fear. Because what Trump sought by denigrating the jury WORKS. Because Trump's intimidation WORKS. Because Trump's terrorism WORKS. Prosecutors began Day 3 of the trial yesterday noting he had violated the gag order SEVEN times just since jury selection started and they actually UNDER-SOLD the most egregious of the violations, with Joshua Steinglass saying “the defendant reposted about liberals lying to try to get on the jury, a post by Jesse Watters.” That was NOT a re-post. Trump does dozens of re-posts a day. You hit a re-post icon, a couple of rounded arrows. Maybe you add a comment. Trump KNOWS what a re-post IS. That is NOT what Trump – or someone in control of the social media account bearing his name – DID. What Trump did was to make a NEW post, QUOTING Watters. It redd – and still reads:“They are catching undercover Liberal Activists lying to the Judge in order to get on the Trump Jury - Jesse Watters.” It is in Trump's own electronic hand. It is not a re-post. It is not ‘technically ok within the gag order' because Trump ISN'T lying about the judge and the jurors and endangering them all, he's just QUOTING Jesse Watters lying about the judge and the jurors and endangering them all. RUNNING THE HEADLINES: Derrick Van Orden, a walking PTSD demonstration, calls Matt Gaetz "tubby" and Marjorie Taylor Greene demands anybody who votes for Ukraine aid be conscripting into its military as the House Republican caucus comes apart at the seems. Happily Jared Moskowitz is there with the big yucks and a Rick Perry protege has the best idea yet: four Republicans should resign from the House to own the liberals. FOUR? How about FIVE? FIFTY? Think big be big my friend! And why on earth did Kari Lake devote a disturbingly large part of a campaign speech to repeatedly saying "strap-on?" B-Block (31:18) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Clay Travis goes from being the knight in shining armor defending the sanctity of women's sports from destruction by trans athletes, to insisting that Caitlin Clark isn't actually popular and nobody CARES about women's sports. The Charlotte GOP still hasn't realized it insulted Trump online and he'll see it eventually. And Twain was wrong: history DOES sometimes repeat itself. In 2005 I watched on in astonishment as Bo Dietl began his new MSNBC show by calling a gay reporter a "fudge-packer" and get fired within two weeks. Now, he's been fired for ANOTHER homophobic rant directed at ANOTHER reporter. Did you know Dietl's specialty in the NYPD was to serve as the mugging decoy? So he was mugged 500 times? Does it show? C-Block (48:00) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: Snowie is fine - now - but her family could use a little help plowing through the bills for the medical wizardry that saved her life. (49:30) FRIDAYS WITH THURBER: Appropriately enough, Thurber takes a dog who was alive when Teddy Roosevelt was president and makes him seem as new as the youngest pup. The Donald Trump mug shot has become the hottest selling item in the country. At $47 a pop, people be snapping up the mug of the Donald, including friar Rod-erick. The mug shot has the boys wondering where does all of this end up? With a new vaccine coming (along with its own mandate!) is Dave's latest insane conspiracy theory really all that out there? Why does Friar Rod-erick look like Donald Trump? Does gender identity effect tipping? What about Motel 6? Why do people bet on practice football? All these questions, and more, this week on “What The Frock?”

EPISODE 161: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (1:41) If I told you Donald Trump was an "animal" who "should be removed immediately;" If I told you Trump was "doing...the work of the devil;" If I told you Trump was destroying our country "as they tell US to be peaceful;" If I showed you two pictures, one of Trump and - next to it - one of me holding a baseball bat, about to swing it, posed exactly as was Robert DeNiro portraying Al Capone in "The Untouchables" just before he beat another character to death WITH a baseball bat; If I showed you 30 other social media posts I had made in just 24 hours, each of them filled with threatening and violent and hateful language about Trump, what would you think I was TELLING you? What would you THINK I was hoping you would DO? Donald Trump is a stochastic terrorist. He used stochastic terrorism to get somebody to attack the FBI after the Mar-a-Lago search and within days a man breached a local FBI headquarters to try to kill FBI agents. He used stochastic terrorism to get others to commit the insurrection of January 6. He used stochastic terrorism to inspire somebody to attack Democrats in 2018 and Cesar Sayoc sent out 12 liberals and he had a second list in his computer and I know because I was on it. Trump is not just committing stochastic terrorism, he knows he is doing it, because it has worked for him, so well, and so often. Arrest him, today. And he has openly threatened four prosecutors and countless journalists and witnesses. He must not only be arrested - he must NOT be granted bail. B-Block (17:00) POSTSCRIPTS TO THE NEWS: The judge may order Rupert Murdoch to testify in the Fox/Dominion defamation case; a NEW defamation case may be filed against Tucker Carlson; Ron DeSantis comes out in favor of immediately eliminating The New York Post and all of conservative media (20:01) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: You're going to CHARGE for Apple TV Baseball? After what it sounded like LAST year? A dishonest media attack on Alvin Bragg. And the Congressman who wants to stop The Biden Student Debt Relief program insisting "debt can not be forgiven" - after he filed for bankruptcy FIVE TIMES. C-Block (25:30) EVERY DOG HAS ITS DAY: Lace, on death row in New York (26:30) FRIDAYS WITH THURBER: Please meet Muggs - "The Dog That Bit People."See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Anna and Mark discuss the tragic end of the Jim Jones and his Jonestown experiment in South America. Anna breaks down daily life in Guyana with White Nights, a pet monkey named Mr. Muggs, and the ultimate sign of allegiance to the leader that lead to the largest cult suicide event in history. Mark is stunned the entire episode and shocked to find out the real meaning of the expression "Don't drink the kool-aid" while Anna was able to obtain information from an interview with one of the group member's family. Brooke is wearing the Shock Collar this morning! Today's question: The Today show started in 1952 with extremely poor ratings, so a year later, the President of the Network brought in a young upcoming, fresh faced personality named J. Fred Muggs...and immediately the show became a huge success! Despite never having a previous hosting job, experts say that because of Muggs’ unique style and the public’s adoration, the entertainer brought in over $100 million in revenue to the network.Muggs even had his own merchandise line and made several appearances.... opening supermarkets to packed fans and commissioning navy ships. You need to tell me..... Who really was J. Fred Muggs?
Wir grüßen Rosco P. Coldchain und den Cast von Soulplane. Anybody say that money didn't change them; they just didn't make enough. Cleanse our hands in holy water. Sincerely Ado... *** FOR DJ USE ONLY *** This is a mash of my reconstructed House of Pain - Jump Around to include Kris Kross - Jump, as I would more often than not mix them together anyway. The result has been dancefloor tested and it's a guaranteed heater. DJ Muggs from Cypress Hill made the beat for “Jump Around” and played it for a few of his friends, like Ice Cube, who passed on it . Everlast wrote the rhymes and it became a House Of Pain demo, famously dismissed by Joe “The Butcher” Nicolo, whose own Ruffhouse Records later “coincidentally” released the song “Jump” by the group Kris Kross (also produced by Muggs). This earned the record exec the nickname “Joe The Biter,” as heard at the end of the album version of “Jump Around”.

Meyhem Lauren is extended family to Take It Personal. He was one of our first supporters dating back to episode 1, when we were podcast rookies shaking off decade old rust from when we last did radio. Meyhem and DJ Muggs just dropped one of the best albums of the year titled “Gems From The Equinox.” They all have been busy doing promo and we were fortunate to catch up with Meyhem while he was on tour with Action Bronson. We talk music, Muggs, pizza, watches, Viceland, Macho Man vs. Ric Flair, Kelly Kapowski vs. Lisa Turtle and we even managed to sneak on stage with him as he performed Hot Pepper. Meyhem is always honest, always witty and 100% good peoples. We strongly encourage you to listen to Episode 18 in its entirety, but for those who want to hear just the interview, here you go!
Just my favorite jams from Funkdoobie. You know the flavor, ill baselines and drums with the Porno king nasal flow and T-Funk on the assist. Shout to Ralph M, nice on the cuts and Muggs and T-Ray with the ill loops, breaks and samples.
