What did God make us for?
Man-made religion puts self above others and rules above relationships. It makes us blind to our sin and deaf to God.
Jesus shows us the way back to how things are supposed to be.
We tend to limit our love to those who are like us and those who like us, but Jesus shows us the kind of love that we long for.
We are often quick to judge harshly and slow to show mercy because we have a vision problem that must be corrected by seeing God as merciful and loving toward us.
Greed always wants more, and worry never has enough, but trusting God brings satisfaction and security.
The things we pray for are a reflection of what we think the good life looks like.
When we base our sense of self-worth on the approval of those around us, we settle for a lesser, temporary reward.
We pretend that we're better than we actually are, but the good news is that God is committed to loving us anyway.
