This week, Sonia and Jessica start by discussing color analysis because Jess looks good in mostly everything, then they recap one very full week of making summer memories with their kids; including beach days, Toy Story 5, Story Land, whale watching, campfires, and restaurant chaos that only happens when every child suddenly has to use the bathroom the second your food arrives. Then things take a turn and the conversation spirals into bizarre women's health discoveries, celebrity moms over 50, childbirth history that sounds like a horror movie, and the internet rabbit holes they probably shouldn't have clicked on, but definitely did. For decades, designers were told to “shrink it and pink it” when it comes to products for women, ignoring their different needs and leading to missed opportunities, discomfort or even injury. On this episode, we meet two women exposing gender bias in product design and who are working to eliminate it from our world – from the office to the soccer pitch and even in space.

How a teenage girl's waking dream birthed what is (probably) the first science fiction novel – and in the process gave the world its most enduring image of technology gone wrong. This time we're coming for the myth, the curse, the cliche that is Frankenstein. John Helmer and Ezri Carlebach climb up the tower, point the lightning conductor to the heart of the storm, and attach electrical cables to the neck-bolts of that fearful thing on the slab. Yes, it may be 200-years old but ... it's alive! They walk through the original 1818 plot — stranger and bleaker than the films — weigh the long-running argument over whether it really counts as science fiction, and trace the monster's afterlife from the 1910 Edison short and James Whale's 1931 classic to Boris Karloff, Mel Brooks, Eddie Van Halen's "Frankenstrat", Guillermo del Toro ... and beyond. In this episode: What really happened at the Villa Diodati in 1816? The radical parents and a childhood shadowed by death that made Mary Shelley Born in the age of revolutions: Enlightenment values battles alchemy and the occult How two Brits, James Whale and Boris Karloff, created a look for the creature in their famous 1931 film that resonated through a thousand sequels, rip-offs and pisstakes Did Mary Shelley predict the death of God? There's no greater joy to see your kids walking in the truth; no greater sorrow to see them abandon it. Yet 66% of 20 year olds will abandon the churches of their teen years. What contributes to this? What can dads do to prevent it? What are the safety nets we can put in place…how can we cultivate openness in our kids…how can we set boundaries and avoid bad influences…how do we effectively nurture and disciple?

Man Made Language by Dale Spender discussed by Dorothea Annison, 21 June 2026
Send us Fan MailIn this video, Dr. R. L. Solberg carefully examines Tom Bradford's teaching on the Trinity and compares it to the teaching of Scripture. Bradford argues that the traditional doctrine of the Trinity developed later in church history and does not accurately reflect the biblical picture of God. But is that claim supported by the Bible? We'll examine key passages from both the Old and New Testaments, explore what Christians have historically meant by the doctrine of the Trinity, and test Bradford's claims against the biblical text itself. Along the way, we'll discuss the deity of Christ, the eternal Sonship of Jesus, the incarnation, adoptionism, modalism, and why precise theological language matters. This study is not about attacking people. It's about following the Berean principle of testing every teaching against Scripture.LinksMr. Bradford's Full TeachingIs the Trinity taught in the Bible and why does it matter? Have you ever felt frustrated when the scale goes up — even though you're eating healthy and trying to honor God with your body? Have you wondered why your body isn't responding the way it used to, despite your best efforts? In this episode of Strong. Confident. His., I'm sharing what I learned during a busy season when subtle shifts in awareness, portions, and protein affected my health. Not because I stopped caring, but because life got full — and I lost awareness in ways many Christian women do. We talk about the difference between God-made food and man-made processed food, how processed foods affect hunger and cravings, and why protein and awareness play a critical role in restoring alignment. This episode will help you understand what's happening in your body so you can stop feeling stuck, stop blaming yourself, and return to simple, faith-centered stewardship. Because this isn't just about losing weight. It's about becoming healthy, strong, and confident in Jesus — and having the energy, clarity, and strength to live out your calling. What You'll Learn Why weight gain can happen even when eating healthy The difference between God-made food and man-made processed food How processed foods increase hunger, cravings, and overeating Why protein supports metabolism, hormones, and fat loss How awareness restores alignment without extremes How to stop tying your worth to your weight Scripture Mentioned Philippians 4:13 Proverbs 4:26 Galatians 5:22–23 2 Timothy 1:7 Next Steps Ready to go all in with God on your fitness?
