The Titanic was steaming along, making great time on its maiden voyage, when suddenly everything went catastrophically wrong. That sounds a lot like the Wests Tigers in 2026!On the back of one of the club's darkest nights, the Wests Tigers Podcast is here to have our say on what is going wrong with the team and the club.Frankly, being in this position again is not only extremely frustrating but also a sad indictment of some important aspects of this organisation (primarily the people who pull the strings).Joel and Nick deliver a raw assessment of where things are going wrong, and try to reflect the opinions of fellow fans that what we have witnessed in recent times is absolutely unacceptable.Naturally, as we do on every post-game edition, we share a whole bunch of 'One Word' submissions from the Wests Tigers Podcast Forum, and invite you to have your say as well. It's a dark place the club finds itself in at present; we can only hope that the changes so desperately needed to help this organisation and team flourish (at long last) grow from the mess that has been created. Thanks for being there and listening to or watching our pod; it is greatly appreciated.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/wests-tigers-podcast--6660380/support.

The 2004 Sumatra earthquake and tsunami may feel like a distant memory, but new research suggests its impact is still unfolding right here in Singapore. On The Big Story, Hongbin Jeong speaks with Dr Grace Ng, Research Fellow at NTU's Earth Observatory of Singapore, about a new study showing that the earthquake caused Singapore's land to slowly sink for years afterwards. What does this mean for a country that's already preparing for rising sea levels? Should Singaporeans be worried, or is this simply another factor scientists and policymakers need to account for? And could distant earthquakes reshape how Singapore plans for climate change and coastal resilience in the decades ahead?See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
A few weeks ago I received a link to an article about Scentsy selling one of their large commercial warehouses as well as Mr. F seeing it for sale on a real estate website. At first glance the article looks like a company selling off assets it's no longer using, but coupled with the issues they've had in the last year; multiple corporate layoffs, comp plan changes, reps jumping ship, and sales tanking since it's COVID height... To the trained Anti-MLM Advocate eye, it looks like much, much more. Thanks to our partners Promotive, WickedFile, Maverick Shop Owners, and OverdryveDo you actually know how much money your shop made last month? If 90% of new clients walking through Hunt's door don't, what are the odds you do?In this episode, Hunt Demarest, CPA, goes solo to call out the four most common ways shop owners are unknowingly sabotaging their own profit and loss statements — and the pain points he sees over and over again with new clients. He opens with a timely PSA on a scam email making the rounds targeting EIDL loan holders, then dives into why 90% of the shops Paar Melis brings on board are working off P&Ls that are materially misstated. From overly complicated financials to sales tracked without their matching costs to the owner's own cash and parts habits quietly wrecking the numbers, Hunt breaks down exactly where things go wrong — and how to fix it. Whether you've got a two-bay shop or a twenty-bay operation, this episode is a gut-check on whether the numbers you're using to run your business are actually telling you the truth. What You'll Learn...(02:59) Why this episode — a follow-up to the summer webinar series on P&Ls(03:24) PSA — the EIDL loan forgiveness scam targeting shop owners' inboxes(06:45) Mistake #1 — Why your P&L is flat-out wrong, and the 90% stat that proves it(09:23) Mistake #2 — Your P&L is way too complicated(13:31) The one-page rule — collapsed P&L vs. the four-page mess(15:31) The subaccount fix, using utilities as the easy win(16:26) Mistake #3 — Tracking sales without tracking the cost behind it(18:18) The tire sales trap — how "improving" your P&L can wreck your margins(20:12) Mistake #4 — You're the reason your financials don't add up(22:31) The parts cost leak nobody's stealing — it's just untrackedIf you've ever wondered whether your financials are actually telling you the truth, why a "good" P&L should fit on one page, and why tracking more sales categories can make your numbers worse instead of better — this episode is essential listening.Summer Webinar Series: Understanding Your Shop's Numbers Webinar: Replay Link and Passcode: .#TWUc81 Thanks to our partner, PromotivePromotive has over 40 years of recruiting and automotive experience. What happens when your relationship looks perfectly fine on paper, but something doesn't quite feel right? In this episode, we chat about the growing trend of the "Luddite boyfriend" and why having less of a social media presence is suddenly being seen as one of the biggest green flags in dating. Is being more present with your partner becoming more attractive than being permanently online? We also explore a powerful relationship analogy: Is your boat slowly sinking? Most relationships don't fall apart overnight. More often, it's the tiny leaks that go unnoticed until the damage feels overwhelming. We discuss how to spot those early warning signs and why awareness is one of the greatest gifts you can give your relationship. Finally, we answer a listener's question that's likely to resonate with many long-term couples:"Do I miss my partner… or do I just miss being in a relationship?"It's an honest conversation about comfort, security, fear of change and how to tell the difference between loving the life you've built and truly feeling connected to the person you're sharing it with.In This Episode• Why "Luddite boyfriends" are becoming the latest dating green flag• How social media can quietly become the third person in your relationship• Why relationships rarely end suddenly, and what the early warning signs often look like• A simple daily exercise to help you notice how your relationship is really feeling• The hidden cost of tolerating little frustrations for too long• How to know whether you're staying because of love or because leaving feels too frighteningQuote of the Week"Strong marriages aren't built by avoiding storms. They're built by two people who decide the boat isn't allowed to sink."Reflection QuestionIf you rated your relationship every day for the next week, what patterns would you notice, and what are you currently tolerating that deserves your attention? We'd Love to Hear From YouHave you ever caught yourself wondering whether you were holding onto the relationship or the person? A seawater flood deep under the Indian Ocean has crippled the Royal Australian Navy submarine HMAS Dechaineux. It cannot rise to the surface because it has taken on too much water. The 60 men and women on board are fighting to save the submarine and themselves from sinking to the ocean floor. They stabilise the boat briefly, but then, to their horror, it begins to sink further. Some think of their families, others put their arms around each other. In Episode 3 we reveal how the crew confront their mortality while they fight to survive. Your heart is racing, your head feels foggy, and you can't tell if this is the summer heat or if this is a panic attack starting. In this episode of Calming Anxiety, Martin—clinical hypnotherapist and former frontline paramedic—explains the biological overlap between heat waves and panic. The US Navy is lost at sea and in the thrall of exquisite platform that be the maritime tombs of tens of thousands of sailors in the coming wars of the 21st century. The acquisition system is broken beyond repair, burn it down. The aircraft carrier has been a signature component of US naval power and prestige for more than a century. The utility has continued to diminish since the end of WWII. The tremendous disadvantage of putting so much manpower and treasure into these single use leviathan systems in the modern world of distributed missile and PGM systems, emerging near-peer & peer adversaries and concentration of power in vulnerable systems is a recipe for future disaster. The US Navy surface fleet is in tatters and shattered by readiness, maintenance and armament issues that are critical indicators of a navy totally unprepared. There’s no sugarcoating it. The big-name free agent signed to a five-year, $175 million contract hasn’t lived up to expectations, and his underperformance is dragging down the entire team. Bregman’s offense isn’t the only issue for the Cubs right now, but the All-Star third baseman stood at his Wrigley Field locker late Sunday night and blamed himself for the team-wide slump that could ruin the entire season. Andy and Brendan! went LIVE on YouTube for this Friday morning recording covering the latest in college golf results, LIV golf rumors, and a hot start for Tom Kim at an outdoor golf venue. The two recap Stanford's win at the NCAA Women's Golf Championship and wonder why college golf has not taken off like other non-revenue sports like baseball and softball in recent years. Brendan shares some intel from LIV Korea, where it seems like tensions are high heading into next week's stop in Spain. Talor Gooch has the early lead there, perhaps as a tribute to his beloved Thunder's deep run into the Western Conference Finals. LIV also discontinued its "Any Shot, Any Time" feed on the app, making Andy wonder just how many app viewers are now left in the dark due to this unannounced change. A beefy Flashback Friday on the PGA Tour's history at Colonial Country Club makes for the bulk of this episode. Brendan did some digging and found articles written by one of Lee Harvey Oswald's pallbearers that go into detail about the hijinks about the early days of the PGA Tour's time in Fort Worth. As we come to find out, some articles even quoted a player as naming Colonial “the premier girl-watching stop on Tour." SGS Golf Advice rounds out the week, with Andy, Brendan, and PJ tackling submissions about playing golf with randoms, a late WD from a buddies' tournament, and what to do if someone skins a squirrel they kept in a cart cooler. Today's episode features Madison Burke, a trained interventionist and recovery professional whose journey through addiction, chronic illness, mental health struggles, and recovery reshaped her understanding of identity and success. Despite appearing highly functional on the outside, Madison spent years battling substance use, unmanaged diabetes, depression, and survival mode behind the scenes. Madison shares with Joanna and listeners what it was like to experience her body breaking down before her mind was ready to fully confront her addiction. She also discusses the pressure to “keep it together,” the hidden reality of high functioning addiction, and how recovery forced her to rediscover who she was outside of achievement and crisis.
