A verified lawsuit filed in New York Supreme Court alleges retaliation at the highest levels of the NYPD. In this episode of Finest Unfiltered, retired NYPD Lieutenants John D. Macari Jr. and Eric S. A global minimum tax deal that exempts American companies from key provisions is a better outcome for European business than the alternative of US retaliatory taxes, the co-chair of the OECD's business committee said. The package agreed to this month by more than 145 countries at the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development headed off a threat of steep US taxes on foreign companies if global concessions weren't made. In this episode of Talking Tax, Christian Kaeser, global head of tax at Siemens AG, told Bloomberg Tax reporter Ryan Hogg that some of his European counterparts regarded the deal as “lopsided” but welcomed new permanent safe harbors that were created with input from Business at OECD, known as BIAC. Kaeser is co-chair of BIAC's tax committee. “I'm pretty happy with the outcome,” he said. Competitive disparities created by the deal can be remedied by simplification of the EU's own rules, including scrapping of the bloc's controlled foreign companies anti-tax avoidance regime, he said. As for Pillar One, the other main part of a 2021 OECD-led tax agreement, Kaeser saw little hope. Further talks on the pillar, which would reallocate taxing rights to countries where big companies make their profits, have stalled for years. On this episode of Everyday Injustice, host David Greenwald speaks with Tracy Miller, a veteran prosecutor whose career inside one of the nation's largest district attorney's offices ended not with honors, but with retaliation, isolation, and a landmark lawsuit. Miller spent 25 years at the Orange County District Attorney's Office, rising to senior leadership and building one of the country's largest gang prevention programs, before becoming one of several employees who reported sexual harassment by a politically powerful insider. What followed, Miller explains, was not institutional self-correction but institutional protection. Despite multiple reports, a county investigation, and widespread internal knowledge of the misconduct, the alleged harasser was promoted while those who spoke out faced marginalization. Miller recounts being stripped of her office, pushed into a conference room during the final days of her career, and denied the basic dignity routinely afforded to departing senior staff. The experience, she says, revealed how easily stated commitments to justice collapse when power is threatened. Miller ultimately filed suit against Orange County, a decision she describes as deeply painful and disorienting, akin to “suing herself” after a lifetime of public service. When the case finally went to trial in 2025, the sitting district attorney spent days on the witness stand, an extraordinary public reckoning for an office tasked with enforcing the law. For Miller, the trial was not just about damages, but about forcing the truth into the open in a system accustomed to silence and deference. In the conversation, Miller reflects on vulnerability, courage, and the double standard prosecutors impose on victims while often failing to protect their own. She frames her case as part of a larger struggle over accountability inside the criminal legal system, where misconduct persists not only because of bad actors, but because too many others look away. Now working as an executive coach and consultant, Miller sees truth-telling as both a professional obligation and a form of resistance—and hopes her story helps others understand they are not alone.

    Slam The Gavel welcomes new guest, Latesha Howard to the podcast. Latesha is a mother in San Bernardino CA. She is an advocate for Special Education and has three children of her own. She also has three adopted nieces and nephews that were taken away by CFS (CPS). Latesha is being retaliated on for being an advocate for the children regarding Special Education services. The school staff were annoyed with Latesha for advocating for services for the children and called Children and Family services on her for this reason. With all the stress Latesha has had to endure, she now suffers from Vitiligo.    Latesha has filed a law suit encompassing all individuals involved in the mistreatment of her nieces and nephews. Several Democratic lawmakers recently released a video reminding members of the U.S. military that they can refuse illegal orders. An angry President Trump called the lawmakers traitors and accused them of sedition on Truth Social. After Trump's post, the Pentagon announced it's looking into allegations of “misconduct” by one of the lawmakers, Sen. Mark Kelly, a former Navy combat pilot, and the FBI appears to be investigating the others. We also hear about military investigations that have reportedly revealed that Hamas spent years collecting sensitive intelligence on IDF bases and equipment, especially tanks and their operations, from soldiers’ social media activity, allowing the terror group to disable tanks and raid army bases during its October 7, 2023, onslaught in southern Israel. As Zamir begins a round of official dismissals of high-ranking staff for their roles leading up to the October 7, 2023, failures, Defense Minister Israel Katz continues to clash with the IDF Chief of Staff, saying that he has ordered the defense establishment comptroller to re-evaluate the findings made by an external panel of former senior officers that looked into the IDF's October 7 investigations. Today's Headlines: The internet is still digging through the 20,000 Epstein estate documents, but the big takeaways so far: Trump and Epstein were apparently still in contact during Trump's first term, Epstein seemed to know Trump's flight schedule, and he even told journalist Michael Wolff he had the dirt to “take Trump down,” including alleged details about Trump's finances and money laundering for a Russian oligarch. Meanwhile, new NYT reporting revisits the Matt Gaetz scandal, centering on the 17-year-old girl he paid for sex. She describes how she was homeless, trying to afford braces, and ended up connected to Gaetz through his associate Joel Greenberg. She later became the key witness in the DOJ's trafficking investigation—which ultimately went nowhere. On the political-retaliation tour, the Trump administration just referred Democrat Eric Swalwell to the DOJ for possible mortgage and tax fraud, courtesy of Trump ally Bill Pulte (the 50-year-mortgage guy). And the DOJ is also probing former CIA Director John Brennan under a theory that he and Obama were part of a long-running “deep state” plot against Trump.
