** WEEKLY SCRIPTURE READINGOur current sermon series is walking through the Gospel of Mark. In preparation for worship as a church family this weekend, we invite you to read and meditate on Mark 16:1-8.Scripture Outline (Mark 16:1-8)1. The Resurrection of Jesus. a. The women's arrival at the tomb. The women are planning to anoint Jesus' body. They find the stone has been rolled away. 2. The angel's announcement. a. Jesus has been raised.3. Scripture Outline (Mark 15:21-41)1. The Crucifixion (vs. 21-32) Simon carries Jesus' cross to Golgotha. Jesus is crucified. i. Soldiers divide Jesus' clothes. ii. Jesus hangs between two robbers.iii. Those who pass by, chief priests, and scribes mock Jesus.2. The Death of Jesus (vs. 33-39) Darkness falls over the land for 3 hours. Jesus cries out to God and then breathes his last breath. i. Scripture Outline (Mark 15:1-20) Jesus delivered to Pilate. Pilate questions Jesus. The chief priests accuse Jesus of many things. Pilate questions Jesus again. Jesus remains silent. Jesus delivered to be crucified. Pilate tries to release Jesus. The crowd calls for him to release Barabbas. The crowd calls for Jesus to be crucified. Pilate gives in to the crowd and has Jesus scourged. Jesus is mocked. The Roman soldiers clothe Jesus as a parody of a king. They mockingly salute and pay homage to Him. They lead Him out to be crucified.
Scripture Outline (Mark 14:66-72)Peter Follows Jesus into the High Priest's Courtyard. (vs. 66-72) a. a Servant girl accuses Peter of being connected to Jesus. i. Peter makes his first denial. ii. The rooster crows the first time. b. The servant girl points Peter out to the crowd. i. Peter makes his second denial. c. The crowd recognizes Peter is a Galilean, like Jesus. i.
