Send us a text"What are human beings that You think about them?"That's the question King David asks in Psalm 8—and it's a question many of us still wrestle with today. In a world that measures our worth by performance and perfection, Scripture tells a different story. In this episode of The Dirt Path Sermon Podcast, we explore the stunning truth that you were made not just to admire God's glory, but to reflect it. You were created with purpose, crowned with dignity, and entrusted with a calling—not because of what you've done, but because of who God is.Through the beauty of Psalm 8, we'll look at what it means to bear God's image, why your identity doesn't depend on your past, and how Jesus came to restore what sin tried to steal. You were made for glory. But the question is—what are you reflecting?Linkoln shares his story on why he started coming to Ravenna Church of the Nazarene and shares why you should consider doing the same.Ravenna Church of the Nazarene530 Main Street, Ravenna, KY 40472Support the showThe Dirt Path Sermon Podcast is a place for real sermons that speak to real life. God is truly magnificent, and the majesty of His Creation is meant to leave us in awe as it points us to Him. From the the wonder of stars and galaxies to the voices of tiny children, all Creation testifies to the greatness of God. In the vastness of it all, we may wonder why God would give such dignity to humans, and Psalm 8 poses this same question. And it's in this question that God speaks prophetically about one "son of man" in particular, who the New Testament reveals to be Jesus. In Him, we discover our own dignity as sons of Adam and daughters of Eve.
Psalm 8 highlights the amazing power and grandeur of the Creator displayed in His "fingerwork." In light of how great God is, David marvels that the Creator would care about him.

Pastor Caleb continues our journey through the Psalms with a powerful message from Psalm 8 titled “Majesty and Mud” In this Psalm of wonder David looks up at the night sky and asks the question we've all felt deep in our hearts What is man that thou art mindful of him It is a song that reveals two life changing truths God is majestic beyond comprehension and yet He still cares deeply for people like us As we walk verse by verse we see how God's glory fills the heavens how He crowns clay with honor and how the Gospel shines through. This message invites us to worship not just with our lips but with our whole lives
God gives great blessings to each of us.

Today, God calls Abraham to do something that most of us would consider unthinkable, especially because we have the privilege of knowing God's character through the whole counsel of Scripture: He asks Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac as an offering to the Lord. Abraham trusts the Lord, and as the author of Hebrews later notes, “He considered that God was able even to raise him from the dead, from which, figuratively speaking, he did receive him back.” As you listen, consider the parallels between this sacrifice and the sacrifice of Christ, who did not have a ram to be His substitute, but who, instead, was the sacrifice Lamb who became our substitute.Genesis 22 – 1:10 .
