    Episode 16: Opportunity

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 21, 2022 4:01

One thing that often gets lost in the day-to-day of the entrepreneurial life is the opportunity you have created for yourself. Sometimes you have to take a step back and see how the work you have put in throughout your journey has created significant opportunity. Even if I had to start from zero, I have learned how pick up my phone and find deals. This knowledge is an asset I created for myself, and it only came to me through time and input across the years. Even in difficult seasons, I am reminded and grateful for this opportunity. No one can take that away from me. It's important to reflect on the by-products your inputs have led you to, even in difficult seasons of your business. Click here to join our HappyLand Facebook GroupClick here to view our Land Acquisitions Bundle

Episode 15: The Market is Crashing

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 13, 2022 7:57

Recently, I've been seeing a lot of fear and concern around the market. I've been experiencing longer sales times in my own business. But, in my opinion, it's a pretty standard expected market correction. If you are worried about the market to the point that you're questioning if you should continue your entrepreneurship, I want you to consider your vision and plan. I always say, "plan your work, work your plan". Doing this backwards will cause you to work off of the issues you encounter along the way, when you should be executing based off of your vision for income, time, etc. Most people don't have a clear plan for their business on paper. Ask yourself, "What does my business feel like in 5 years? What are realistic targets in three years? What are the measurables? What are the actions that move us closer to those goals?". If you have this plan in place, the market should not significantly impact your business. Click here to join our HappyLand Facebook GroupClick here to view our Land Acquisitions Bundle

Episode 14: Let Your Team Go

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 9, 2022 4:46

One of my strengths in this business is building solid teams.  As we've grown, we have put great leaders in our team, which has brought a certain level of safety and comfort that has allowed my business to operate very smoothly. Lately, two of those positions left for personal reasons. When this happens, it leaves us in a tough position. We can either be upset and puff our chest out, or bless and support the people who have served our business for so long. I heard a quote that said something to the effect of, "How you treat your employees on the way in versus how you treat them on the way out is what differentiates you as an employer". This attitude, in the short term, has increased serotonin levels among the group. But, in the long term, these decisions will lead to more referrals, more people interested in working for our company because we treat our people so well. We have been gifted an incredible opportunity to lead and work alongside people, to learn and grow together. Eventually these people will come and go, and it feels like a breakup. But, how you treat people in your organization whenever they must leave says a lot about your character as a business owner. Click here to join our HappyLand Facebook GroupClick here to view our Land Acquisitions Bundle

Episode 13: You Can't Beat The Clock

Play Episode Listen Later May 20, 2022 7:22

Oftentimes, our mindset towards time is wrong. I see so many people coming from a place where they think time is running out. They feel like they are behind. They are trying to beat the clock. I've learned that time is really on your side. There is no finish line, so there is no clock to beat. Thinking this way will lead you away from abundance and purpose, and towards all sorts of negative emotions. If you can reframe your perspective toward time, it will become your friend. It is the one thing none of your competitors can hack into. It's an asset. Are you viewing time as something to be used, cherished, and spent wisely? Or, are you viewing it as something working against you. Click here to join our HappyLand Facebook GroupClick here to view our Land Acquisitions Bundle

    Episode 12: Leveling Up

Play Episode Listen Later May 12, 2022 8:23

Leveling up just means hitting your goals and achievements. In order to do that, you have to get back to the mindset you were in when you first started. You had that eagerness, the fire in your belly, when you were running after your goals. I call this "build mode". Build mode requires more work, but remember that the opportunities you have now came from the work you put in over the last 12 months. So, what you are building now will create those opportunities for the future you, the person you want to be.You have to remember who you want to be. The fastest way to achieve something is by acting like you already have. So, I'm not Clint, the $5 million entrepreneur. I'm Clint, the $100 million entrepreneur (in my brain). Everyday I am operating off of a framework of how somebody in that position would. You'll find gaps, issues, and places where you fall short. But that's the beauty of each day; we get to go out, learn, and try again.Click here to join our HappyLand Facebook GroupClick here to view our Land Acquisitions Bundle

Episode 11: Out Of The Grump And Into The Groove

I'm not the kind of person who always wakes up excited to tackle the day. If you relate to this, know that you can't change who you are. However, there are things you can do to get "out of the grump and into the groove" for a more productive day. Getting out of bed and making yourself a cup of coffee will do wonders, but there's a couple of specific things you can do that will help you get up and at em.  First off, glance at your targets. You are much more likely to achieve a goal if you look at it every day.My next tip is a "3x3x3": Three to do's, three meetings, and 3 things NOT to focus on. Then get to work! You don't always need an elaborate morning routine to feel ready for your day. Click here to join our HappyLand Facebook GroupClick here to view our Land Acquisitions Bundle

Through coaching and therapy I learned how to be secure and comfortable with who I am. The secret to living a fulfilled life is to be happy with who you are not content with where you are.  The boss, partner, parent and friend you are is what will make you happy. Insecurity is not a thing you make a decision on one time, we don't just decide one time that you are going to focus on your gratitude. Most of the time it's because it's not reinforced There is a stat out there that says that if you write down a goal you are 35% more likely to achieve it but if you read it allowed and revisit it every day you are 69% more likely to achieve it.  When we make big decisions, that move us forward it's not a one time decision. It's an every day decision, let me give you permission, you are are human, there is nothing wrong, it may just be time to recommit.Click here to join our HappyLand Facebook GroupClick here to view our Land Acquisitions Bundle

    Episode 9: Seasons Of Change

Play Episode Listen Later Mar 14, 2022 11:02

After many years of therapy and self reflection and practice, I have learned that the big changes or seasons I go through in my life stress me out. I have mentors and life coaches that help me get through these times I have a new phase coming up with moving, and partnerships changes in my business. These changes create pressure and stress. My body reacts, I fantasize about these massive changes that need to be made to reflect the change in my life that will only add stress. My mentor looked at me and said "Why are you equating a season of change in your life with a season of change in your business? All these things are changing why do you need to change systems that are working?"  You need to be around people who are where you want to be and build a business that will serve you not one that you serve.  A season of change does not mean to change everything. You don't need to solve all of your problems at once. So many of us lump this together and need to change everything, we are only human and can only handle so much.Click here to join our HappyLand Facebook GroupClick here to view our Land Acquisitions Bundle

It is a natural condition to want to be better than yesterday.  This is a disconnect from your future self, you will never reach your goals with this type of thinking. I could do so many things but I had to sit down and ask myself if each event on my calendar was a f*uck yes. Was I truly excited and happy about each?  We often find ourselves disconnecting from our future self and tapping in to the needs of today. Evaluating success by the gap, the place you are not at at, will not bring you happiness and joy. Most people are already living their dream and have lost the fact that they reached that point.  When was the last month you planned to put yourself first? Plan your life, your quarter, by putting those things first. Delete those things on your calendar that are not an F*uck yes and add a few things on your calendar that will give you energy and happiness.Click here to join our HappyLand Facebook GroupClick here to view our Land Acquisitions Bundle

You have permission to not focus on the immediate money. Instead focus on what you want to achieve long term. The jobs you create, the people you serve, the business you have in 30 years. There are income goals and there are impact goals, those that lead you towards happiness and joy. I have changed the way I set my goals based on what season I am at in my life. I'm currently in a season of pulling, needing to rest to focus on my health and happiness. I have been so focused on growing and building my business, a push season, that I need to take a step back and think about what makes me truly happy.I haven't yet embraced a pull until now. In this season of life I'm thinking about how I live to serve my team, helping to create leaders and the impact this opportunity has on their life and their family's. I challenge you to think about how you can take income and create assets, something that serves you long term.  If your goals are only numbers there is no point if it won't make you happy.Click here to join our HappyLand Facebook GroupClick here to view our Land Acquisitions Bundle

Life is fluid, you are pulled in many directions. Your energy can be shared and spread. We are not always thinking on the same level so our goals need to change to reflect where we are at in life.I have recently come to the realization that making 5 million isn't making me happy anymore. Leaving my W-2 job made me very income targeted based. I have felt stressed and it's all because I was in that same mode of need to earn instead of readjusting my goals. It's impossible to wake up every day happy and ready. It's super important to have goals and reflect on them, we have permission to change our goals.  What is important is to think about your future identity, who you want to serve, what your legacy looks like, and your business and create your goals and decisions from that ideal future self, not who you were in the past. Have you ever felt like it's too late to change your mind? That you've put too much time, energy, or money into something to turn around? This mindset comes from the fear of what others will think about your decisions. I've worked on huge projects and months in decided that I want to go a different direction. I used to think that once I started something, I had to stick with it. I have learned two things along the way. One, that markets are ever changing, and if you want to succeed you have to be willing to adapt and change with them. Secondly, a micro-loss today will allow you to achieve major-wins. When you realize you are in control of nothing, it puts you in control of everything, so change your mind! Be willing to give a project up if it is no longer serving you, your business, or your goals. Click here to join our HappyLand Facebook GroupClick here to view our Land Acquisitions Bundle

We've likely all felt imposter syndrome at some point in our lives and careers. So, what do you do when you feel like you don't have what it takes? The first step is understanding that this feeling comes from the desire to grow and change. If you have that desire, you are capable of handling the situation you are in. Our minds naturally look for patterns, and when we are in a place where we are growing and have to change the patterns we are used to, the natural response is fear, and maybe even inadequacy. But the truth is, if you are feeling like an imposter, you are succeeding.Click here to join our HappyLand Facebook GroupClick here to view our Land Acquisitions Bundle
