Paul Pape is a creative problem navigator, TEDx speaker, and author known as “Santa for Nerds.” Over the past 20 years, he has built a reputation as the specialty artist companies like Disney, Universal, and Nickelodeon call when they need something that doesn't exist or their internal teams can't build. Working from his Nebraska studio, Paul creates custom collectibles, props, and prototypes with tight deadlines and exacting standards. Paul is the creator of Gamify Business and author of The Creative Player's Handbook to Business, which translates intimidating business concepts into gaming language that creative minds actually understand. Through his books, workshops, and coaching, he helps entrepreneurs build sustainable businesses without sacrificing their creative souls, proving that the “starving artist” stereotype is outdated and unnecessary. Paul first appeared on Follow Your Curiosity in September 2024, and I invited him to come back to tell us about his new Gamify Business program. Paul talks with me about how he recognized the need for a more creative metaphor for entrepreneurship; the danger of losing touch with your passion as your creative business grows; how the focus on what's NOT possible, plus the constant need to ask permission—even as a adults—can get in our way, and a whole lot more. If you've ever been intimidated by the idea of starting a business, especially as a creative, this episode is for you. Episode breakdown: 00:00 Introduction. 04:10 Using Dungeons and Dragons to explain creative business roles. 08:18 Leveling up business skills with gaming metaphors. 12:00 Business isn't selling out; creatives deserve a livable wage. 16:05 Building the book through stories and personal experience. 20:13 Learning entrepreneurship by adapting methods to suit yourself. 24:10 Gatekeeping of business concepts and simplifying with new language. 28:47 Kids embrace entrepreneurship because they haven't been told no. 32:27 Making a fool of yourself helps growth and confidence. 37:08 Confidence from passion attracts opportunities and like-minded people. 41:57 The tipping point: when passion becomes a draining job. 46:53 Failing is natural; our schooling overemphasizes perfection. 51:25 Coaching, permission, and feeling proud support creative entrepreneurship. 56:29 Rediscovering fun and permission helps creativity thrive. Welcome back to the Bodcast! This week, I'm breaking down exactly how to program your workout week as effectively as possible, no matter your experience level or schedule. From the vital health benefits of lifting weights to the exact number of sets you should be doing, this episode is your ultimate guide to structuring your time in the gym. In this episode I cover: Why We Lift: It's not just about aesthetics! Resistance training is crucial for metabolic health, longevity, fighting chronic disease, and reducing all-cause mortality. Getting Started Safely: Why complete beginners should always book a PT to nail their form and avoid injury before tackling big weights alone. The Beginner Blueprint: Why newbies should focus on full-body sessions 2-3 times a week, prioritizing big compound lifts (like squats and deadlifts) for 6-10 sets per muscle group weekly. Leveling Up to Intermediate: How to keep progressing and hit optimal volume by bumping up to 3-4 sessions a week, hitting 10-16 sets per muscle group with push/pull or upper/lower splits. The Advanced Athlete: For those who have been lifting consistently for 3-4+ years, I explain why you might need 4-5 sessions a week, 12-20 sets per muscle group, and a strategic mix of heavy compounds and accessory work. Rest & Recovery: A reminder that muscle actually grows during recovery, not in the gym—and why you absolutely need rest days and adequate protein to repair micro-tears. Ditching Perfectionism: Why a 20-minute workout is always better than doing nothing, and how dropping the "f*ck it" mentality is the real secret to staying in shape long-term. Great real estate agents help clients see the bigger picture. In this episode of Life at Ten Tenths, Matt and Garrett are joined by special guest Kim Costa for a thoughtful conversation about what it truly means to level up as a trusted advisor—and how helping clients find home alignment leads to better decisions, stronger relationships, and fewer regrets down the road.Drawing from Kim's experience working closely with clients at major life transition points, this conversation reframes the agent's role from transactional guide to thoughtful partner. Together, they explore how lifestyle, season of life, values, and long-term vision all play a role in whether a home genuinely supports the people living in it.Rather than rushing to solutions, this episode highlights the importance of asking better questions, slowing the process down when needed, and helping clients gain clarity before making one of the biggest decisions of their lives. In this episode, we discuss:What it means to operate as a true trusted advisorWhy alignment matters more than features or finishesHow misalignment leads to regret—even in “great” homesThe questions that help clients think more clearly about their next moveHow agents can elevate their value by guiding life-first decisionsWhy trust grows when agents prioritize clarity over speedThis episode is for agents who want to move beyond transactions and build deeper, more meaningful relationships—while helping clients choose homes that genuinely support the way they want to live.
The Setting Trick: Conversations with World Class Bridge Players
In this episode, I sit down with Adam Parrish, a two-time winner of the American Bridge Teachers Book of the Year Award, host of the Leveling Up podcast, and author of six bridge books. Adam spent all of 2025 on a self-improvement project, dedicating an entire year to getting better at bridge while documenting every step publicly. We dive into what that year actually looked like, from tracking hours of study instead of chasing results, to working with top coaches like Joyjit Sensarma and learning key lessons from players like Steve Weinstein, Bobby Levin, and Gavin Wolpert. Did he actually level up? We also dig into some boards from the team trials, the art of listening as a podcaster, and why Adam believes you cannot improve in isolation. He shares stories about his longtime partner Greg Humphreys, how their NABC Fast Pairs win unfolded in Reno, and his experience playing the USA Team Trials on LoveBridge. Plus, we explore his journey from learning bridge from his maternal grandmother to writing a bridge novel, and what it takes to truly level up at this humbling, wonderful game. Key Highlights:
Most people spend their entire lives waiting.Waiting to feel ready. Waiting for motivation. Waiting for the “right time.”But leveling up isn't a feeling... It's a decision. In this episode, I break down why success in fitness, mindset, and life comes from one thing: making active decisions every single day. We talk about why most people live in a reactive state, how your subconscious mind runs 99% of your life, and how to program your autopilot to win instead of self-sabotage.You'll learn:Why you don't need all the steps, just the next oneHow to stop living off of hope and start operating with intentionThe power of daily identity decisionsWhy protecting your mental “diet” is just as important as your physical oneHow to train your subconscious to move you toward your goals automaticallyWhether you're 500 pounds or already in great shape, the only thing that matters is the decision you make today. This week, we level up.Not by chance.By choice. Busyness is not success. It's a trap. Most men stay exhausted not because they lack ambition —but because they never graduate beyond implementation. The four levels of value:• Implementation• Management• Communication• CreativityIf you're stuck trading time for money, reacting to urgent tasks, and calling it “grind”… you're playing small.Creativity is the highest level of value. And busyness kills it.Then we go deeper.Five areas every man must level up in:Master your time — prioritize the important over the urgent. Learn to say no.Stop chasing money — build around service and value.Discipline your thinking — be present with your wife and children.Build a business aligned with mission and purpose.Never let business become your identity — burnout is the cost of confusion.I share my own seasons — boxing, bricklaying, training men, moving programs online — and how each phase taught me this:Purpose-driven work must serve four things:God.Self.Family.Community.If it destroys one of those, it's out of alignment.High performance without rest is ego.Hustle without mission is noise.Success without presence is failure. This is about building a life that multiplies — not one that consumes you.If you're ready to stop being busy and start building with intention, this one is for you. If we haven't met yet, Hi I'm Gavin Lance Topp, founder of The Man Alive Experience.I mentor men who are ready to level up in their family, business, and faith.I've worked with hundreds of men through live Zoom calls, mentorship, and practical training resources. Our next challenge begins March 17th.You'll walk away with:
In this real talk episode of the Runner Rising podcast, Nicole Dobransky shares the nuance and realities of leveling up in your run coaching business. Whether you're leveling up to:A new coach (0-2 athletes)Part time coach (3-20 athletes)Full time coach (20+ athletes)Leader coach (Full time + leading other coaches or a group etc)You will face the same mental hurdles as you go up each level. Understanding why and when these will show up and taking consistent action anyway is what will separate you from those who succeed and those who stay stuck or quit.

What's going on family, welcome back to SAUNAIE.Last week we talked about consistency.Showing up when motivation is gone.Building systems.Staying disciplined. But here's what happens next — and nobody prepares you for this part:When you start changing…Your environment doesn't always change with you.Your habits shift.Your mindset shifts.Your priorities shift. And suddenly…You feel alone. So today we're talking about something a lot of Black men experience but rarely say out loud:Loneliness while leveling up.Because growth is powerful…But it can also feel isolating.

What if the only thing standing between you and your dream is a story you made up about how it will end? In this episode, I sit down with executive coach, bestselling author, and speaker Ryan Leak to talk about the dangerous habit of pre-calculating failure and talking ourselves out of our own potential. Ryan shares the story behind his documentary Chasing Failure, including how he convinced an NBA team to let him try out (yes, really) and what he learned when he didn't make it. We dive into why successful people are more willing to “sit in the bookstore alone,” how to stop overcomplicating your dreams, and why perfection is the fastest way to stay stuck. Get ready to stop talking yourself out of your dreams and start doing it scared. In This Episode You Will Learn Why you PRE-CALCULATE FAILURE and quit before you even start. How CHASING FAILURE can take you further than chasing success. The mindset shift that separates those who WIN from those who WON'T TRY. Why you must give your BEST to the opportunity in front of you. How to DO IT SCARED instead of waiting to feel ready. The most powerful SELF-AWARENESS question you can ask to elevate your leadership. Host: Rod Santomassimo Guest: Lev Mavashev (Principal, Alpha Realty, Ney York, NY) Lev Mavashev (Principal, Alpha Realty) walks through how a technical, numbers-driven background (CPA + Deloitte) turned into a long-term career in NYC multifamily brokerage—and why specialization is the reason he's been able to scale, survive disruption, and keep taking market share. Lev shares how he entered brokerage the old-school way: book + phone + cold calling—and even landed a seller on his first call, then had to ask the team what to do next. The bigger lesson: activity matters, but structure matters more. He explains that two years in, he invested in coaching, learned to value his time based on what he intends to earn (not last year's income), and made a bold move early: hired an assistant on his own dime, which he credits as a major accelerator. Lev also breaks down why he founded Alpha Realty in 2016, why Alpha is exclusively multifamily, and how he stayed steady through major headwinds—especially NYC's 2019 rent law changes and then COVID—by being the advisor clients could reach when others disappeared. What You'll Learn (from Lev) Why specializing (and staying there) beats chasing "whatever deal is available" How Lev used disruption (2019 rent laws + COVID) to deepen advisory relationships and gain share The mindset shift: valuing your time based on your goal income—and staffing accordingly How Alpha scaled to 14 total team members and is now restructuring into micro-specialists inside multifamily products Where Lev is using AI today: email triage, marketing support, OM/BOV drafts—while still testing the edge of AI calling Lev's Core Framework "Get on a team + find your niche + stay in your lane." He frames it as being a big fish in a small pond, instead of trying to win the whole ocean. About: Lev Mavashev Lev Mavashev is the Founder and Principal of Alpha Realty, a thriving real estate brokerage firm specializing in NYC Multifamily properties. Lev is among the industry's top tier professionals and considered one of the most active brokers and power deal makers in the investment-sales market.

Most preppers assume their fire-making capabilities are squared away—a lighter in the drawer, maybe a ferro rod tucked into a bag somewhere. But owning fire-starting tools and actually being able to create fire under pressure are two very different things. When temperatures drop, conditions turn wet, and your hands are shaking, the gap between "I have a fire kit" and "I can reliably make fire" becomes the difference between recovery and catastrophe. This episode challenges you to honestly assess whether your fire-making setup and skills would hold up when it actually matters. Todd breaks down the hierarchy of fire-starting tools and why the order matters, examines the critical preparation steps that most failed fire attempts skip entirely, and addresses the technique errors that plague even experienced outdoorsmen. Beyond the mechanics, this episode tackles fire kit philosophy—what actually belongs in a compact, reliable kit versus what just takes up space. From understanding why certain budget options consistently fail to knowing how to source dry material when everything around you is soaked, the discussion moves through the practical realities of fire-making that armchair preppers rarely consider. Fire-making isn't just a wilderness survival skill—it's foundational to emergency preparedness, self-reliance, and your EDC strategy. Whether you're building redundancy into your everyday carry or pressure-testing your current fire kit setup, this episode delivers the essential knowledge that separates those who think they're prepared from those who actually are. What she quickly discovered was something far more powerful than a medication: education, structure, and sustainable habits.During the 8-week program, Danica:Lost 13 pounds - more weight than she lost while on OzempicLearned how to fuel her body properly with real foodBuilt confidence around eating without dieting, restriction, or obsessionStabilized her blood sugar and regained consistent energyStopped daily afternoon naps and energy drink dependenceCreated a realistic workout routine she can sustain long termHow macro education gave her freedom, not obsessionThe role of meal prep in removing decision fatigueWhat happened when her appetite returned after stopping Ozempic and how she handled itWhy doing the “hard thing now” creates lifelong resultsHow learning blood sugar balance at 20 will change her entire futureCame off Ozempic completelyHer biggest win?“I came to lose weight… but my biggest win was learning how to eat.”In this conversation, we talk honestly about:Why Ozempic didn't actually change her habitsDanica's story is especially powerful for young women who feel pressured to turn to quick fixes and for anyone wondering if it's possible to come off GLP-1 drugs safely and successfully while still losing weight. This episode is proof that real results come from learning how your body works, not outsourcing your health to a medication.

In this episode of The Russell Brunson Show, I share a raw, unscripted talk from a private mastermind where I break down what it actually takes to level up in business and in life. This is not about tactics, funnels, or hacks. It is about the internal shifts, humility, and skill rebuilding required when the old version of you can no longer take you where you want to go. Through personal stories from wrestling, entrepreneurship, faith, and leadership, I explain why growth feels uncomfortable and why that discomfort is often the signal that you are on the right path. Rather than teaching another framework, I'm walking you through the psychological and emotional realities of moving from one level to the next, and why most people stall out when their ego refuses to let go of past success. Key Highlights: ◼️Why every new level of success requires abandoning the skill sets that previously worked ◼️How the Hero's Journey explains personal growth, plateaus, and the need to leave the “ordinary world” ◼️Why ego and attachment to past wins are often the biggest blockers to scaling ◼️The difference between technical growth and internal readiness for the next level ◼️How humility, reflection, and learning from others unlock the next phase of progress Real growth does not come from doing more of what already worked, but from being willing to relearn, rebuild, and let go of the identity tied to past achievements. This episode is a reminder that leveling up is less about external strategy and more about who you are willing to become in order to move forward. ◼️If you've got a product, offer, service… or idea… I'll show you how to sell it (the RIGHT way) Register for my next event → https://sellingonline.com/podcast ◼️Still don't have a funnel? They talk about SkyFrog's employee skills challenge—mower races, weed eater and edger contests, and this year's backpack blower soccer—and how it boosts culture and retention. Jordan breaks down how he's using LiveSwitch and AI to turn quick video walkthroughs into written job scopes, crew orientation, and even palm fertilizer estimates, while Jason recaps turf results with MitoGrow, plans for new field trials, updates on the Landscape Rodeo date shift, and an upcoming MitoGrow video project.
