P&C drink and review Festifall, a Marzen lager by Southcounty Brewing, then discuss the prospect of a world without cash. Deepfakes, fake documents, and AI-generated “evidence” are becoming harder to spot — and that might be what finally pushes governments and businesses to demand trusted digital sources. But that trust comes at a price: a digital ID system that could track who you are, what you do, and even what you buy.In this episode, we explore:* How fake videos and online deception could accelerate the rollout of digital IDs.* The battle between centralized systems (government-controlled) and decentralized ones (blockchain-based).* The alleged benefits for individuals, businesses, and governments: convenience, security, efficiency, fraud prevention.* The hidden dangers: surveillance, data breaches, social control, and the loss of financial and personal freedom.* Real-world examples from China's social credit system to Canada's Freedom Convoy—and what they reveal about where this might lead.* Whether we're even ready for this kind of technology—or if policymakers are racing ahead of reality. And yes, the biblical echoes in Revelation 13: the “mark of the beast” that decides who can buy or sell.Bottom line:Digital ID could make life easier—or it could make freedom optional. The difference lies in how it's built, who controls it, and whether we keep cash, privacy, and choice alive.
Send us a textThink fat in your neck is something to get rid of? Think again. In this episode of The Trillium Show, Dr. Jason Hall explains why a little fat in the right places is essential for youthful, elegant facial contours—and why destroying it with trendy non-surgical treatments like Kybella, CoolSculpting, or radiofrequency tightening can actually make future surgery more difficult and less effective. He breaks down the science behind neck contouring, the long-term risks of fat-dissolving treatments, and what you should know before booking any “quick fix” procedure. Whether you're considering facial rejuvenation now or years from now, this conversation will help you make smarter, safer choices for lasting beauty.

Last week, Lithium Americas announced an unprecedented new deal with an unlikely partner: The Trump administration. In exchange for a multibillion federal loan, the Nevada-based lithium mine will give the federal government a 5% stake in both the company and the Thacker Pass mine — which is likely to turn into the country's largest source of lithium. So why is the federal government doing, ya know, socialism … and could it possibly be a good thing for America? Eric Neugeboren, reporter at the Nevada Independent, and Vince Beiser, author of "Power Metal: The Race for the Resources That Will Shape the Future," join co-host Dayvid Figler to discuss. Heads up, Vince will be giving a talk titled "The Dirty Secret of 'Clean' Technology" at 4 p.m. TODAY. Head over to the Lily Fong Geoscience building (room 102) at UNLV. This week on the Media Roundtable, we're sitting down with Lex Friedman (not to be confused with Lex Fridman), one of podcasting's original builders and a leader who's shaped the business of podcasting since Day 1.Before launching his own consulting business, Lex played a part in nearly every major chapter of the industry, including Chief Business Development at Midroll, Chief Revenue Officer at ART19, Head of Podcast Partnerships at Amazon, and Head of Podcast Strategy at Wondery. Along the way, he's helped define how ads get sold, how shows get funded, and how podcasting itself gets defined. In this episode, Lex opens up on what made podcast ads such a “win-win-win” from the start, why early pitches were simply “talk radio…on demand,” and how a listenership of “completionists” continue to set podcasts apart. He even drops an acoustic guitar analogy to explain why the word podcast isn't going anywhere, no matter how the platforms try to rebrand it."Stop apologizing for podcasting being what it is—because it's clearly working."—Lex FriedmanThe conversation covers: Ad Load Tipping Points, Completionist Behavior, Consolidation and Mega-Deals, and more.Let's go.Watch the conversation on Youtube: https://youtu.be/HjDmqUiBSQgSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Is coach Mike Tomlin's defense improving, even if it's still giving up too many yards? How encouraged should we be that T.J. Do he and fellow RB Kenneth Gainwell have any chance for success behind a struggling offensive line that includes Broderick Jones and Troy Fautanu? Have those guys shown progress themselves? We like to believe our senses show us the world as it is. But what if your brain is quietly “editing” reality before you ever notice it? In his new book, A Trick of the Mind, psychologist and neuroscientist Daniel Yon explains how the brain builds theories about the world, other people, and even ourselves—and why understanding that process can change how we handle stress, conflict, and decision‑making.

Something big is happening in Washington right now, and it has the potential to reshape everything you and I do as investors. A few weeks ago, the Trump administration attempted to remove Fed Governor Lisa Cook, only to have an appeals court block the move on legal grounds. At almost the same time, Stephen Miran—one of Trump's economic advisers—was confirmed by the Senate to the Fed's Board of Governors by a razor-thin margin. On one side, an attempted subtraction. On the other, a confirmed addition. All of this is happening right before a major policy meeting, and it's not hard to see the writing on the wall. Trump's takeover of the Fed is not a question of if—it's a question of when. Whether it unfolds in a matter of weeks or drags out over the next few months, the direction is set and the outcome is inevitable. The endgame is to bring interest rates down and, if necessary, use quantitative easing to drive bond yields even lower. That kind of policy would flood the system with liquidity, and the immediate effect would be a booming economy. Asset prices would rip higher—stocks, real estate, gold, Bitcoin—you name it. If you own assets, you'd feel wealthier almost overnight. But of course, there's another side to this coin. A dollar that weakens under the weight of easy money. A gap between the asset-rich and the asset-poor that grows even wider. Rising inequality, rising tensions, and perhaps a long-term cost to the credibility of the U.S. financial system. So is this takeover of the Fed a good thing? That depends entirely on where you sit. If you're a wage earner with no meaningful assets, it's bad news. If you're an investor, it's a reminder that ignoring policy shifts like this is done at your own peril. The time to prepare is now, not later. Don't wait for rates to drop before acting. History shows that buying assets in a descending rate environment has been one of the most powerful wealth-creation maneuvers in the United States. Think back to 2008. The Fed responded to the financial crisis with unprecedented rate cuts and waves of quantitative easing. What followed was more than a decade of explosive gains in stocks, real estate, and other assets. Those who bought while rates were falling built extraordinary wealth. Those who stood on the sidelines missed out. But don't take my word. Listen to noted economist Richard Duncan explain the dynamics of this situation in this week's episode of Wealth Forula Podcast. It happens to all of us: you leave an interaction and realize the conversation was all about the other person. They didn't ask a thing about you. Today's episode is about feeling ignored in conversations with friends. In these situations, it's easy to play the blame game, but the truth is, we are all responsible for our half of the connection. What do you say when a friend asks how you're doing? Do you say “good” or “fine?” Or do you give an honest answer? How hard do we expect friends to work to extract information from us? Here's my challenge to you: in your next hangout, don't deflect a question. Throw something out there you've never shared before. These details enrich relationships. Remember, your friends want to know you. Trust this, and take up a little space. In this episode you'll hear about:Why sharing the silly details matter: they help open up conversations and allow your friends to know you betterThe importance of BOTH parties in the relationship contributing to a conversation; don't deflect questions or give generic answers!Common concerns about not wanting to dominate the conversation (or share TOO much information)How I navigate not feeling left out when I'm in a conversation with people who share common interests with each other (but not with me)Resources & LinksListen to Episode 12 about emotional intimacy roots.Like what you hear? In this powerful message from Guest Pastor Charles Nieman, we dive into Revelation 1 and discover God's design for two offices that were created to work together: kings and priests.Kings – Men and women of influence, called to provide provision for the vision.Priests – Called to cast vision that blesses not just ourselves, but others. When kings and priests work together, God's kingdom moves forward. This message unpacks how we are all called to live Christ-centered lives… not career-centered or wealth-centered lives. Every one of us has a valuable purpose, a mission, and a house to build that stands for something eternal.

SHOW NOTES In Podcast Episode 339, “Like Father, Like Son-Not Always a Good Thing,” Kim discusses the positive and negative aspects of the concept - like father, like son. In today's podcast, we explore a sad tale of a like father, like son relationship with poor choices and violent ends. However, it doesn't have to be that way. If you have unhealthy patterns in your family, may today be your personal Independence Day. Our focal passage for this episode is 2 Chronicles 25:17-28, with 20 & 27 as the focal verses: 20 But Amaziah refused to listen, for God was determined to destroy him for turning to the gods of Edom. 27 After Amaziah turned away from the Lord, there was a conspiracy against his life in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachish. But his enemies sent assassins after him, and they killed him there. WEEKLY ENGAGEMENT FEATURE: Are there any unhealthy family patterns you need to break? Additional Resources and Scriptures: 4 We use God's mighty weapons, not worldly weapons, to knock down the strongholds of human reasoning and to destroy false arguments. 5 We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ. (2 Corinthians 10:4-5) 25 The Arameans withdrew, leaving Joash severely wounded. But his own officials plotted to kill him for murdering the son of Jehoiada the priest. They assassinated him as he lay in bed. Then he was buried in the City of David, but not in the royal cemetery. Comparison gets a bad rap—but is it always a bad thing? In this short episode, I'm sharing how comparison can either be a tool for growth or a trap that keeps you stuck.Inspired by Mel Robbins' “Let Them” theory, we'll explore how to shift from self-judgment to self-inquiry when you catch yourself comparing your life to someone else's.You'll learn how to reframe comparison as a signpost toward what you want, rather than proof of what you're lacking. If you've ever felt discouraged after scrolling social media or watching someone else succeed, this episode will help you shift your mindset and use those moments as motivation—not shame.Check out Esther's website for more about her speaking, coaching, book, and more: http://estheravant.com/Buy Esther's Book: To Your Health: https://a.co/d/iDG68qUEsther's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/esther.avantEsther's LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/estheravant/Learn more about 1:1 health & weight loss coaching: https://madebymecoaching.com/coaching
