An Australian man is deported from the United States. There is not a lot of sympathy for him. "Doctors" want to replace the word for "obese" because of the sadness it causes those who are obese. And the backlash against yesterday's Supreme Court decision on trans-ing kids is happening. Unfortunately for them, the backlash just proves the Supreme Court's point.
Question: I have kind of a loaded question concerning the kingdom parables of Matthew 13. I don't know if you are able to follow me on this, but the typical evangelical interpretation of the parable of the “leaven hidden in three measures of meal” starts with “leaven is usually bad in the Bible,” but in this case it is good. This to me is not an acceptable interpretation, but I'm really perplexed as to why so many evangelical leaders, who undoubtedly are aware, at least, of the other interpretation still persist in this.Response: The fuller context of this parable is found in Matthew 13:33-42, which includes the Lord's explanation of the “tares and the wheat.” It is instructive that in the parable of the tares and wheat, the Lord has planted “good seed.” We cannot deny that this is good. The enemy, however, has (using the same method) sowed his own seeds. The seed of the Lord permeating the world like leaven is good. Yet the tares (until the harvest) are virtually indistinguishable from the wheat. This is bad. Leaven is a natural development in the process of making good bread and the process is used by both the good and the bad. And it is true that most references to leaven are used as a negative: “A little leaven leaveneth the whole lump” (Gal 5:9, etc.). (continues)

Let's start episode 731 of Secrets of Organ Playing Podcast. This question was sent by Dan and he writes:Interesting podcast episode here, on pedal technique, Vidas. You talk about putting hands on the bench during pedal solos. I'll often do this, as I'm not playing anything in the manuals. Would you say this is a good thing to do, technically speaking? Or would you advise organists that you're working with, to keep their hands on the manuals, so they can be ready for when manual parts come back in? Speaking of playing baroque music with toes only, with the Toccata, from BWV 564, and the pedal solo that it has in it, how would you play the part that has triplets in it, as smooth as possible? This is a bit in that pedal solo in that toccata that I've always not gotten as smooth as I'd like it to be, and as smooth as I've heard organists generally play it. Does a dream or passion you have feel out of reach? What if the key to shortening the path was to first, allow ANY step to be taken that feels good to you and second, open up to the idea of it taking an unexpected form. In this episode I share with you how this played out in MY life and how I allowed for the space to start thinking differently. It was scary. I was reluctant. And quite honestly, it was NOT what I wanted to do. But if I didn't - I would have missed out on so much magic. (p.s. this is how podcasting came into my life and my dreams started to come true - as corny as that sounds, it's true!)If you are feeling stuck in analysis paralysis—overthinking every move, doubting whether you're ready, and holding yourself back from taking action, you are not alone. And more importantly, you are actually in a place of growth - a moment of evolution. This is a GOOD THING! For years, I waited for permission, obsessed over “doing it right,” and compared myself to everyone else—which only kept me feeling powerless and paralyzed. Everything changed for me when I started taking messy, inspired action—trusting my creativity, using my voice, and showing up for what truly lights me up. Podcasting became my way out of overthinking and into purposeful doing, which I share with you in my story of how I came to create my science fiction noir audio drama podcast called DIMENSION.I want to inspire you to do the same. Stop waiting for perfect conditions, stop over-analyzing every step, and start moving, even if it feels a little scary or uncertain. When you act from your passion, you create momentum, confidence, and real results. Let yourself experiment. Trust that imperfect action is better than standing still. Trust that your vision for yourself - your passion - is there for a reason and WORTH pursuing. This episode is your sign to break free from analysis paralysis and finally take the inspired action your dreams deserve. Let's step into our power and create something amazing—starting today! In this episode you will learn:How to notice when you might be blocked. The importance of taking new action. How to trust yourself and take steps even when you don't know the outcome. What Imposter Syndrome really is and how to move on from it.Why podcasting might be your answer to taking steps towards your dream.Links:Visit: https://www.boss-goddess.co IG:@boss_goddess.co IG:@bossgoddessbarsi Pinterest:Pinterest: @bossgoddessbarsi Previous Episodes on this topic:Begin Podcasting: 3 Steps To Defining Your Message with PurposeBegin Podcasting: Permission to F*ck It UpWhy It's Never Too Late to Find Your Light with JoAnn RichardsConnect With Your Desires By Honoring What You've Created: GUIDED MEDITATIONThank you so much for listening! Show Notes: What is Abundance? And is it a Good Thing?OverviewThis newsletter explores the concept of abundance, particularly in the context of technology, energy, and capital. It challenges debates about whether abundance is real or manageable, presenting it instead as an unstoppable force rapidly reshaping business, society, and governance. The content spans trends from explosive AI-driven startup growth and energy breakthroughs to shifts in media, venture capital, and political dynamics.Listeners will find this collection compelling because it connects broad macro forces—technology advances, energy cost collapses, investment flows—with societal and economic changes. It offers a nuanced view that acknowledges friction and obstacles but maintains optimism that abundance is already here, accelerating, and fundamentally altering the rules across multiple domains.Key Trend 1: Explosive Growth and Changing Dynamics in AI-Driven Innovation and FundingThe emergence of AI as a multiplier of human capability is driving unprecedented revenue growth in startups, reshaping the venture capital landscape, and redefining what “scale” means. Late-stage funding surges and monumental investments in AI infrastructure reflect growing confidence in AI's commercial potential. The top 10% of B2B AI startups are achieving astronomic 236% ARR growth, marking a departure from the efficiency-first era to rapid expansion and capturing “escape velocity.”The size of top-1% venture-backed exits is nearly doubling every five years, signaling massive future capital returns at the intersection of cloud, mobile, and AI platforms.Late-stage AI investments dominate funding, including mega rounds like Anthropic's $3.5B Series E, underscoring belief in scalability and profitability.Oracle's $40B commitment to Nvidia chips for OpenAI's new data center exemplifies the scale of capital pouring into AI infrastructure needed to power trillion-parameter models. The explosion of AI integration across tools, like Perplexity Labs generating complex work products or multiple AI agents collaborating on code, highlights multi-layered adoption in workflows.Key Trend 2: Energy Abundance as the Prerequisite for Sustainable Technological and Societal GrowthEnergy is the foundational “subsidy” enabling societal complexity, climate action, and advanced AI. Rapid advances in solar, nuclear, and fusion research herald a future of "energy too cheap to meter," which will be a game changer as demand explodes.Energy breakthroughs have historically powered leaps in human development—from fire to fossil fuels—and solar energy is the latest, with plummeting costs creating a tipping point.Government reform, grid modernization, and deregulation are essential to accelerate adoption and infrastructure buildout.Upcoming nuclear small modular reactors and fusion research (including AI-assisted catalyst discovery) represent critical next steps along the energy innovation trajectory.Meeting urgent energy needs is critical for climate solutions, AI's soaring compute demand, and sustaining democratic institutions and economies.Key Trend 3: Institutional Friction vs. Market-Led Speed and Execution in Technology and GovernmentWhile abundance forces press forward, friction remains, especially rooted in institutional inertia, regulatory complexity, and political coalitions. However, the market champions the agile and fast-executing players who prioritize speed over bureaucratic safety.Biden administration's infrastructure rollout illustrates government slowness: trillions in spending with slow or no visible results.Companies achieving rapid ARR growth routinely bypass “progressive coalition politics” favoring execution and iteration.Elon Musk's brief tenure in government showed the challenges of applying private-sector efficiency models to public institutions, ending with his resignation amid political conflicts. The “Abundance Agenda” calls for governance reform but faces entrenched interest-group resistance, reflecting recurring liberal factional rivalries.Key Trend 4: The Shifting Media and Information Ecosystem—From Screening to Summarizing, and the Challenge to Web ContentAI-powered search is transforming how users access information, moving from link-based discovery to AI-generated summaries that threaten traditional web traffic patterns and publisher revenue models.Google's AI Overviews and AI Mode prioritize summarization over link retrieval, reducing user clicks to websites, shifting how “the web” is monetized and accessed. This shift generates tensions as content creators face reduced traffic even as their editorial authority becomes more valuable to AI training.New protocols like Microsoft's NLWeb aim to make websites more accessible to AI agents, signaling an evolution toward AI-powered conversational interfaces.Publishers' survival depends increasingly on establishing verified fact-based content and new business models compensating their data contribution to AI.Key Trend 5: The Democratization and Accelerated Meme-ification of Venture Capital and CultureThe VC landscape, and culture at large, is increasingly shaped by rapid narrative cycles, social media algorithms, and AI-driven content creation, emphasizing hype and viral content while paradoxically increasing the importance of genuine personal connection and location.Meme coins like Fartcoin, driven by AI-generated hype, show how narrative velocity can create rapid yet often ephemeral market spikes influencing capital flows.Social media and AI have democratized “taste,” with rapid cycles of trend formation driven by platform algorithms favoring engagement over depth.Venture capital branding is evolving to embrace memes and out-of-home advertising to reach broader retail investor audiences, challenging traditional LP communication.Despite hyper-meme culture, location and face-to-face networks remain crucial as a grounding force amid accelerated, digital-first trends. After weeks of music news and concert recaps, we're finally dedicating an entire episode to what we love most—experiencing music together!Takanori Nishikawa's "HEROES" kicks things off with powerhouse vocals and orchestral rock arrangements that immediately transport you to an epic landscape. Nishikawa delivers clear, emotionally resonant performances that leave us in awe, and we find ourselves swaying to his perfectly enunciated lyrics and that unmistakable voice that gives us goosebumps. We shift gears to savor Baekhyun's "Chocolate"—a sultry, jazz-infused R&B track that lives up to its name. The EXO member's solo project showcases his smooth, rich vocals against dreamy production. We focus on the metaphor comparing a potential love interest to chocolate and appreciate how the arrangement mirrors this complexity with subtle electronic flourishes and soulful piano.i-dle (formerly (G)I-dle) brings attitude with "Good Thing,". The Avril Lavigne and Kesha vibes had us immediately hooked as we theorized that maybe this isn't your typical breakup song, but that maybe it's about that moment when you meet someone with a great reputation and quickly realize they're not worth your time.VANNER's "Goodbye & Hello" offers a beautiful moment of calm with gorgeous harmonies and thoughtful lyrics about friendship and reunion. The song's gospel influences shine through in those goosebump-inducing vocal arrangements, creating a comforting soundscape that had both of us gently swaying throughout. We close with Number_i's "Psycho"—an intense club banger that showcases why headphones are essential for truly appreciating modern production. The audio effects move across channels while each member's distinct vocal style shines through, from powerful belting to what we affectionately call Kishi's "demented rap" delivery.Join us for this musical journey across genres and artistic evolutions! Next week, after 29 years in Catholic education (17 in the classroom, 12 in diocesan administration), Chris is (mostly) leaving teaching behind to work with Emily and take over the business side of all she does. This week, after 17 years in the classroom, Casey is also leaving teaching behind to work with Kate on a host of different creative projects, from their music to theatre camps for kids. So this week, we're talking a little about those decisions and a lot about what they have learned about education during their years in the classroom, from how education has changed over the years to how it needs to continue to change as AI looms large. P.S. Making huge life transitions is scary, but a whole lot less scary when you're doing it with friends. In this VERY personal episode of Tami Talks: Unscripted Healing, I open up about my new relationship—three months in and already pulling back layers I thought I'd healed. After 2.5 years of healing alone—separating from a past relationship, parenting, rebuilding, and reconnecting with my inner child—I was finally at a place of peace. Or so I thought. Then love showed up. Not the fairytale kind. The real kind. The kind that gently (and sometimes not-so-gently) holds up a mirror to the wounds I was still carrying. My abandonment wounds. My people-pleaser. The voice that still whispers, “You'll never be good enough. You are such a burden.” This episode is vulnerable and full of reminders that God and the Universe send us the exact people and moments we need—not to break us, but to help us break open. You'll hear how I learned to stop projecting my pain, take ownership of my healing in real-time, and finally understand the difference between being a burden…and being a gift. ✨ You are not too much. ✨ You are not broken. ✨ You are worthy of love that sees the real you—and stays! Many of us pride ourselves on our ability to compartmentalize. We like to keep our personal and professional lives separate, push aside difficult emotions, and stay productive in the face of whatever comes our way. But what if this “skill” we value so highly is quietly cutting us off from our own hearts? In this episode, Hari Prasada, Rasanath, and Vipin examine why compartmentalization seems helpful but ultimately prevents us from being our best self. They distinguish between presence and suppression, explore how disconnection from the heart affects our relationships, and discuss what it takes to return to the emotions we've long set aside.Links Enneagram Certification Program (starts May 17th) Upbuild Coaching Certification Training (starts in October) Upbuild Website Instagram: @upbuildnycFacebook: UpbuildLinkedIn: Upbuild
