In this podcast, we talk to two dog trainers about training dogs to be service animals. Ellen Gagliano trains puppies to ready them for more intensive training, and then we hear from professional dog trainer Joanna Sidote talks about positive reinforcement practices in animal training.

Activism Through Recent History is a podcast that delves into the lives and experiences of activists who have been fighting for causes since the 70s and the convictions of one aspiring high school activist. We met with Julia Weber, Mara Giglio, and Liz Shaw to discuss their histories and present in activism. Shaw and Giglio have been activists since the 70s and 80s but Weber is a young activist at Athens High School. We had the privilege of speaking with them about their lives in activism and we hope that their experiences help inspire and educate more activists who wish to join the fight.
Learn the story behind a drug crisis in Appalachia that continuously confounds our perception of life in America. Appalachia is considered to be the epicenter of the opioid crisis. We explain the effects on our communities. Hear the perspectives of 4 individuals whose lives are transformed by drug abuse and addiction. A teenager who faced addiction recalls traumatic moments he was too young to experience. After, a local father depicts his years of drug abuse and sobriety with sincerity. Regarding rehabilitation, a retired nurse explains why combating the opioid crisis is critical. Growing up with an addict parent shaped a young teacher in various ways. While we ponder possible solutions and are numbed by overdose statistics, the personal accounts of this drug crisis deserve priority. Both shocking and revealing, these individuals shine a light on an epidemic in desperate need of attention.
The Appalachian region provides a unique environment for Queer people that is rarely discussed. While some areas follow the traditional Appalachian stereotypes of being conservative and not open to the queer community, there are pockets throughout Appalachia which provide safer spaces for queer people. In this episode of The AHS Matrix podcast, we will discuss being Queer in Appalachia.
