The podcast that’s forever searching for old mixtapes and mix CDs from family, friends, enemies and from anywhere else we can get them. What do we do with them? Listen, reminisce, speculate and most importantly, talk shit.
Short and simple, at least the mix was, then we blathered on about random stuff..... Cheers!!
It's everything you'll need in a mix. Where? AUTO. What? SOUND. When? August 24, 1997. Who? Same asshats you hear every week. You're welcome!!!
The strangely vacant seat of Karl is filled wonderfully by first time guest Jamie as they pontificate over many things, none of which I can comment on, because it's me, Karl that writes these! Enjoy!
The triumphant return of Matty, a mix that makes little to no sense, and just the right amount of hate for Karl's unapologetic love of Buckcherry. All is right in this here world. Cheers!
Jeremy joins in this week to discus the ins and outs of proper care for the rare, giant orchid. Just kidding, we drink beers and talk shit about Dire Straits. The more things change......
A much more descriptive title than 'meh' or 'music', this one puts the stamp of approval on all the content. Favorites. Do we agree? That we'll have to decide over some beers and heated debate as usual. Good someone like Quillan who doesn't have strong opinions on things was along to make things easy. Lol
First time guest Ben joins us for a kick ass time yo! I mean how couldn't we have a kick ass time with a mix title like that right!?!?!
A bevy of selections from the way back machine. 2006, what a time! Flying cars, the first martian colony, cold fusion, the future was then!
Simple, to the point, succinct. The mix title, not the podcast. We have, and never will be ANY of those things. Cheers!
The title is untitled?! **Chef's Kiss** We couldn't ask for a more amusingly thought out start to a mix. Cheers
The mix so 80's it needed a sequel! Neon clothes, big hair, cocaine, it had it all. As does this mix. Now lets talk station wagons with faux wood paneling......
Back after a quick hiatus, we decipher weather or not these are in fact gangsta, or tunes. possibly both? Seems like a long shot. Our resident expert Matty lends a much needed hand. Cheers!
The second and final mix in the series entitled "Karl found some of his old mixes". Somehow, this one is even more haphazard than the last. Enjoy!!
We couldn't believe the title either. An odd one with odd music, and even more odd stuff happened in editing. Just remember, we do weddings........
A funky numba, sounds either like a cool aunt named it or its a demo tape made by someone in 1947. You decide. But if you cant, we'll help.
Gus joins us to celebrate the new year and dissect this treasure that is a reference to one our favorite shows of all time. Is it one of our favorite mixes of all time?.............
We're baaaaaaack!!! After our longest hiatus of all time, the gang returns for the last time this year and speaks on the topic of Rock 4........ Rock 4 what?!?!?!.
Simplicity is best......sometimes. Also an idiom that probably should have been applied to most things conjured in the 80's. We're here to peel back the layers of synth and expose the bedazzled, coke laden skeleton that is any proper 80's mix.
Dave was here, and we have proof. Or at least someone made him a CD at some point. Thanks to whoever that was at least, we were thoroughly entertained.
Still without our fearless leader, Ethan and Quillan join to sort through a mix made by the enigma that is Warren. Who was he and why did he know about the fabulous bongo stylings of the 70's before all of us?
We reboot last week's cast with a seemingly hippy leaning mix, and the return of thirsty Mandy adds the missing love component. Enjoy!!
Special episode alert! It's a Show us your mix first as Keenan has gone AWOL! Where is he? No one knows! We'll find him eventually, but in the mean time, with some extra special guests, we'll hit part two of the series. Cheers!
Gus returns to help us sort through someone's idea of "alternative". I mean, we can't really argue with a description so vague, but a little clarity would have been nice, JON!
First time guest Jeremy joins, and we learn as much about him as we learn about this mix. Hope you have as much fun as we did! Cheers!
Let's get sad! Lots of emotions flying around for this one, but really more of an angry/horny vibe, despite one of the saddest country CDs we've ever heard.
Our annual homage to our friends at CKXU! The university of Lethbridge in Lethbridge could use your help making Lethbridge more Lethbridge. Alberta! Stand up! You should be known for more than being BC adjacent and being beside that place that's flat and is slightly more boring than porridge. Donate! 403-329-5189 Make your voice heard! Or at least make that Lethbridge butt shake a little more......
Evan joins on this dreamy episode featuring sports, chin rock, great hip hop and horrible country. A combination deserving of a gold medal indeed. Cheers!
Is it clever or lazy? Who better to answer that than the cleverest, laziest crew around! Fall is in the air baby! Cheers
'Twas the last day of summer and everything well, until Matty heard this mix, his own personal hell. Cheers!
Questions as old as the music itself. What makes it classic? What even is rock? Can a swallow carry a coconut on its own? These and more answered in today's episode…..
Just a regular old time. We talk shit about David Gray, invent a challenge that makes ultra marathons look easy, and Karl breaks the brains of everyone in the room.
Sup Ceedee….. Not much, sup with you? Yeah, we had no idea why you'd name a mix that either. But don't fret, the contents are just as confusing. Cheers!
Possibly the most aggressive title we've ever come across. It's ok, Matty is here to protect us.
Mozza sticks, dry ribs, maybe some shrimp. Who doesn't love a sampler?!?! An appy sized serving this week with Nelson stopping by for a visit. Cheers!
What flava? mint? lemon? bacon? nope, it's rap and we got Matty on board. Lets Go!
Yes, you read that title correctly, maybe it took you a few times, but that is right. Don't worry, we don't spend toooo long trying to pronounce it, there's plenty of other insane things to talk about......
Our friend from the future sent us this one. Some genuine down under treasure here, big thanks to James for this.
Well..... some of it was from the 80's. Maybe that was for the best.
What were they running from? Is it just 14 tracks of Runaway by Del Shannon? Find the answers to these questions and more on this weeks edition of........
It's fitting that episode 222 is 2 in the series, not that we have the first or know who made it. But for once, we definitely know what this one was for, and we're about it.
Jade hangs with us and helps us decide if this is in fact, the last one. Also, when i say I'm going to cut something in and on the day I edit, I have no access to it, just like when I brought it up the first time, it makes me sad, so if you want to hear my add, you'll have to call the BCLC yourself. It's a great time! That is all.
Been a while sine we yee''d hawl the way through a country mix, thank god Mandy will back me up in liking (some) of this stuff. Cheers!
Not sure who or what Aesslin is, but someone found the lost tapes and we're here for it. Matty comes along for the bumpy ride, and drops a bunch of knowledge on us along the way. Cheers!
Ethan joins us, uninformed of what is to come. I Really do enjoy seeing the happiness leak out of a person as each choice the mix maker has made slowly sinks in. Cheers!
How bad could it be? I mean, someone thought it was at least good enough to flippantly label it the way they did. Let's dive in and find out.
New twist, same slightly buzzed idiots talking trash about stuff that may or may not need trash talking. Proving time and time again that there's more than one way to make a questionable mix. Cheers!
In the past, there has been the promise of heavy. Some have delivered, many have not. This mix was so heavy the maker made sure they didn't even use lower case letters in the creation of the moniker. THAT'S HOW HEAVY IT IS.
It may be the most fitting accident of all time, that the week we can't record we unearth an old forgotten episode and it's called, Step into the time machine. Originally recorded around the episode 95 mark, this throwback to the era of Graham is like a welcome phone call from an old friend, even if it is a call for bail money and really, you're kinda tired of his whole bullshit story. ENJOY!!!
Rocking out with Josh from torchlight. What could be better than big hair and big hits!
Gus joins us once again to put in the hard hours on this mix. Not much work harder than planting trees, so we were very intrigued to see what kind of pump up music this had in store. Enjoy!
Mandy joins us in the way back machine for this cassette we unearthed simply titled, #6. Let's all go back to when hair was big, exotic cars were white, and cocaine was cocaine. Cheers!
