Learn how Cara stopped escaping and designed a sustainable world travel lifestyle that works for her brain. ============================ Get the Monday Minute my weekly email with 3 personal recs for travel, culture, and living beyond borders you can read in 60 seconds. ============================ ON THIS EPISODE Cara Laban left New York chasing a childhood dream of Australia, but what began as an escape from burnout turned into a two-year immersion in life overseas, from bar shifts in Melbourne to bakery work in the outback. In this candid conversation, she shares the mental health lows that followed her across continents, the road-trip mishap that left her stranded without gas in remote Australia, and the moment in Thailand when she realized travel alone wouldn't fix what she was carrying internally. We trace her evolution from working local hospitality jobs to building a sustainable travel lifestyle online after discovering Hannah Dixon's Virtual Excellence Academy. That reinvention eventually led her to found Travel Reddi, an AI-powered travel logistics platform designed to simplify global mobility. Cara opens up about depression on the road, the difference between analog and digital nomad life, and how systems thinking became the foundation of both her business and her forthcoming book: “How to Do Anything Even if You're Lazy”. This is a story about reinvention, self-honesty, and designing a life overseas that actually works for your brain. → Full show notes with direct links to everything discussed are available here. ============================ FREE RESOURCES FOR YOU: See my Top 10 Apps For Digital Nomads See my Top 10 Books For Digital Nomads See my 7 Keys For Building A Remote Business (Even in a space that's not traditionally virtual) Watch my Video Training on Stylish Minimalist Packing so you can join #TeamCarryOn See the Travel Gear I Use and Recommend See How I Produce The Maverick Show Podcast (The equipment, services & vendors I use) ============================ ENJOYING THE SHOW? Hi there. Welcome to another episode of True Crimes Against Wine. In this episode we dig into Bridgerton season 4 (first four episodes) with hot takes, spoilers, and a lot of laughs. We chat about the new heroine Sophie, Benedict's surprise Cinderella arc, the show's heavy-handed nods to classic tropes (midnight, silver slippers, the whole shebang), and whether continuing the series past season three was a brilliant idea or a cash-grab mistake. We also talk casting, visual vibes, the recurring music covers, and the characters we wish got more screen time — especially Eloise. Join us as we rant, gush, and debate whether the show's predictability ruins the fun or if pretty costumes and steamy scenes are still worth the watch.

You're working hard. You're showing up. You're doing everything right. So why does it feel like you keep ending up in the same place? Pastor Eric Thomas breaks down the real reason, and it's not your effort, your discipline, or your faith. It's what you keep picking back up every time God tries to free you from it. Not the bad stuff. The good stuff. The comfortable stuff. The stuff that used to work, but is quietly holding you back from what's next. This message will change how you see your season.
Projected top-5 NBA draft pick Darryn Peterson is catching a lot of flack for pulling himself out of games. Is this a character issue that should be avoided, or is he legitimately injured. Steak and Rusty believe it is the former, and the Hawks should stay away.

Are you telling yourself you're a lazy mom — even though you're exhausted, overwhelmed, and doing a million things every day? In this episode, I want to lovingly but firmly tell you the truth: You are not lazy. You are tired. And those are not the same thing. I've had six kids in eight years, and I know what it feels like to sit on the couch and wonder what is wrong with you… even though you've been giving everything you have all day long. In this video, we talk about: - why "lazy mom" is almost always the wrong diagnosis - the difference between exhaustion, burnout, and true laziness - how mental load fries your nervous system (even when your body still has energy) - why negative self-talk makes motherhood feel heavier than it has to be - how silence, prayer, and compassion for yourself restore capacity - why managing your mind gives you hours of energy back This is especially for Catholic moms who love their families deeply but feel worn down, overstimulated, and discouraged. Nothing is wrong with you. You don't need to try harder. You need more peace. I'm praying for you. Please pray for me.

Episode 1965: Steve Chou shares unconventional yet powerful advice for launching an online business with minimal stress and maximum impact, especially for those who identify as "lazy." By embracing simplicity, ignoring premature worries, and asking basic questions, he shows how momentum, not perfection, is the real driver of success. Read along with the original article(s) here: https://mywifequitherjob.com/the-lazy-mans-guide-to-starting-a-successful-online-business/ Quotes to ponder: "Dude, you are such an engineer. Why are you worrying about something before it's even happened? Focus on getting customers first and then adjust appropriately if you are overwhelmed." "Try as hard as you can to force yourself to stop complaining and don't make excuses." "No one likes a complainer and people will be less likely to help you if you do."
Join Lionel on The Other Side of Midnight for a genre-bending hour where the paranormal collides with messy human drama. Lionel takes on "lazy" skeptics who dismiss alien visitation simply because they haven't seen it themselves, arguing that belief in UFOs is no different than belief in love or God. The lines are open as callers debate the validity of abductions, share eerie stories of wives who can predict death, and recount telepathic farewells from dying relatives. But the mysteries aren't just cosmic—they are domestic. Lionel is left baffled by "Fitzy," a caller managing a guilt-ridden 15-year relationship with both a wife and a girlfriend, and offers blunt advice to a 75-year-old father whose home has been overrun by his adult daughters and grandchildren. Whether it's little green men or family feuds, Lionel asks the ultimate question: How do you know what you know? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

If your health habits keep slipping, the problem isn't a lack of motivation, it's a lack of structure. In this episode of The Kirk Miller Podcast, Kirk explains why willpower, hope, and short bursts of motivation aren't enough to create lasting results. Instead, sustainable progress comes from building simple systems that work even when life and business get busy. Kirk shares three practical principles to help entrepreneurs stay consistent with their health year-round, without extreme routines or unrealistic expectations. In this episode, Kirk covers: Why most people struggle because their system is broken, not their discipline How to use the minimum effective dose to stay on track during busy periods The key non-negotiables for training, steps, hydration, and nutrition Why planning your health the day before improves consistency How to move from reactive decisions to proactive control Why aiming for 80% consistency beats chasing perfection The mindset of "less but better" for long-term results This episode is a reminder that sustainable health isn't built on motivation — it's built on structure, planning, and consistent execution. ADHD, autism, and eating disorders through the lens of inertia. What if feeling stuck is not laziness, resistance, or lack of motivation? In this conversation, Dr. Marianne Miller speaks with ADHD and neurodivergent-affirming therapist Stacie Fanelli, LCSW, @edadhd_therapist, about how autistic inertia, ADHD hyperfocus, and executive functioning differences shape restriction, bingeing, and symptom cycling. They explore why recovery approaches built on willpower and choice can deepen shame for neurodivergent people and how capacity-aware care offers a different path. Inertia outside of the ED can be a trigger for EDs existentially because of the sense of “stuckness” it creates; then, the ED swoops in and offers a sense of control. This episode reframes stuckness as a nervous system experience rather than a character flaw and introduces compassionate, liberation-centered recovery grounded in harm reduction, radical acceptance, and real support for neurodivergent healing. In today's episode, we're talking about ADHD that looks like overwhelmed and under-functioning: when your brain gets so flooded that it can't prioritize, and instead of choosing a next step… it shuts down. You'll learn what overwhelm really is in the context of ADHD (total cognitive, emotional, and/or sensory flooding), why “freeze” can be a very real nervous system response, and how this pattern often develops especially for those who grew up criticized, emotionally unsafe, unsupported, or chronically overwhelmed. If you've ever thought, “I'm not hyper—I'm stuck,” this episode is for you. We'll break down the common pattern: Overwhelm → Freeze → UnderfunctioningNot because you don't care, but because your system can't handle the load. Then we move into gentle, practical ways to “thaw” without bullying yourself:Name it and accept it (without shame)Use safe, doable movement to activate your systemShrink the cognitive load (two essentials, tiny timers, one-minute starts)Borrow someone else's brain (ask for help, then obey)Reduce decisions wherever possiblePractice deep self-compassion as the pathway to changeFinally, we talk about when to get extra support—especially trauma-informed therapy and nervous-system-based approaches like EMDR or somatic work.Watch this episode on YouTubeWant help with your ADHD? A Parenting Resource for Children’s Behavior and Mental Health
If your bright child avoids tasks or seems unmotivated, it's not laziness. Why smart kids struggle often comes down to a dysregulated nervous system and executive functioning challenges. Dr. Roseann Capanna-Hodge, expert in Regulation First Parenting™, shows how understanding regulation transforms behavior.Parenting a gifted child can feel like walking a tightrope. You know your child is capable of great things, yet the constant battles over homework, chores, or tasks leave you questioning yourself. Why are smart kids struggling so much, even when they have all the abilities to succeed? Understanding why smart kids struggle can transform your parenting approach and help your child thrive without shame, pressure, or frustration. By the end, you'll have actionable steps to support regulation, executive functioning, and motivation—so the “lazy” label finally makes sense. Why does my gifted child avoid starting tasks? Many parents of gifted children notice that their kids stall before beginning tasks. It's tempting to think they're unmotivated, but the truth is rooted in brain regulation.Underactive prefrontal cortex: Your child's brain may lack the “go” signal for planning and initiating.Overactive emotional center: They feel failure deeply, so avoidance feels safer.Low mental energy: Bright brains burn through energy quickly, leaving little for sustained effort.
In this episode of the Dyslexic Entrepreneur podcast, Stephen Martin explores the challenges faced by dyslexic entrepreneurs, particularly the feelings of laziness that often stem from cognitive overload. Episode Description:Would you trek four miles just to see a new bridge—or pay someone to peel your mandarin oranges? That's the question at the heart of this episode of The JB and Sandy Show, where JB, Sandy, and Tricia explore the quirks of Austin life, the rise of “easy living,” and the deep-rooted pride of small-town Texas. The show opens with JB's heartfelt story about walking with his daughter to check out the soon-to-open Wishbone Bridge. “Doesn't that make you feel good as a dad?” Sandy asks, as JB reflects on the miracle of reconnecting after the teenage years. The crew celebrates the bridge's design, its impact on Austin's hike-and-bike trail, and the rare joy of seeing a city project actually finished. “We need to celebrate when something gets finished. Right. Which is rare.”
Two whole podcast episodes devoted to how fly fishers can be lazy? Oh yes. And I could do a handful more just on those issues I see in myself. Recently I defined laziness as choosing to not do what you know you should do. If the goal is catching fish, why would you only try 95%? or 50% Certainly, you shouldn't be bothered by being skunked if that is the case. Today I highlight three more things anyone can and should do when fly fishing. Whether we do it or not is another story... Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Welcome to Part 2 of our very special episode of Mind the Game with LeBron James and guest co-host Tyrese Haliburton. In this episode, Tyrese and LeBron talk about the amazing 2025 Indiana Pacers playoff run, the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder and of course Tyrese's devastating injury in Game 7. Then the guys get into the lazy ‘overrated' narrative that surrounds Tyrese and what it's like being a villain in the NBA. And finally, the guys get into the teams that have been influenced by the Indiana Pacers including The Boston Celtics and the Phoenix Suns. Thanks for watching Mind the Game. (11:45) Sarah's question is what is the 'lazy' way to get more protein into each day. (14:00) It's better to eat protein at each of the three meals each day rather than cram it into one or two. Stay away from hemp and pea proteins. The best protein is whey protein. (20:00) There are three types of whey: standard, concentrate, and isolates. Vinnie recommends either the standard or the concentrate; isolates are bastardized because they are more highly processed. Casein protein also has a good amino acid profile. (26:00) What is the difference between bovine protein, collagen, marine collagen, etc.? (30:00) Plant-based proteins are not effective. (38:00) Colostrum is the first milk a mother provides naturally. (41:00) Please be aware of claims that say colostrum for adults has benefits. Vinnie hates diet culture and the push to record macros all day, every day. (50:00 How do you calculate how much protein you need? (59:00) Getting between .6g and 1g per pound of lean body mass should be enough. Be careful around the gym bros — they don't always give good advice. They finish with a talk about their favorite music and concerts.
