Pastor Samson's message from Psalm 91 reminded us that while attacks—both seen and unseen—are inevitable, those who dwell in the presence of God can live with unshakable confidence, knowing He is their refuge and protector. Trusting in God doesn't mean we avoid pain or hardship, but it means we are ultimately victorious through Christ, who has already conquered evil. This kind of trust is rooted not in outcomes, but in intimacy with God—and it invites us to respond by surrendering our burdens and boldly proclaiming our faith. Listen and be challenged.Support the show

This week's message explored how the Psalms speak to every season of life—from joy and clarity to pain and confusion. Nate Stukey challenged us to live with urgency and intentionality, warning against the drift of spiritual procrastination (Psalm 90). Sawyer Wilson called the Church to unity and mission, urging us to trade finger-pointing for gospel-pointing and to live “on earth as it is in heaven” with undivided hearts and a focus on Jesus (Psalm 86, Matthew 6, Revelation 7). Lijo George shared a powerful personal testimony through Psalm 89, encouraging us that faith is holding on to God's promises—even when it feels like He's forgotten us. Finally, Kezia Gavrila leaned into the darkness of Psalm 88, reminding us that God is present even in our deepest night, and that faith doesn't always come with tidy answers. Together, these voices reminded us that no matter what season you're in, there's a psalm for you—and a God who is faithful through it all.Support the show

After yet another unplanned lull... Episode 47 of Oh, Deer, presented by Bo's Bar & Stage is here! (Just in time for us to take an extended Summer break, of course). This one's sponsored by Restore Wellness, and not only did Ted, Lund and Co-Worker Erin have the pleasure of interviewing owner Derek Hutchins... they did it on location while each receiving an IV drip - which, after a big night out, Ted and (especially) Lund needed real bad. (16:01) You'll also hear all about The Athlete's Vegas stag party (1:11:55), Lund's (terrible) attempt at a sing-along while we discuss our favourite Summer Songs (1:33:49), and yet another round of 'Gad Mabs' (1:33:49). As always... enjoy! Pastor Rodney opened our Summer Songs collection of talks by reminding us that true joy isn't rooted in circumstances, success, or comfort—it's found in the presence of God. Drawing from Psalm 84, he showed how joy grows when we deeply desire God, dwell in His presence with others, and delight in trusting Him. Even in sorrow or struggle, God's presence brings strength, refreshment, and lasting joy that the world can't give—or take away. Listen and be challenged. Support the show

A relic from the formative years of our very own Keenan! What did the then 19 year old chubby cheeked little guy listen to? Spoiler alert, basically the same thing he listens to now. Big surprise. All the more reason to go through it with a fine tooth comb and point out why he's wrong and he should feel shame. Cheers!!

Today we have not one, but two very talented guests, British Invasion icons, smooth harmonizers and all-around charming gents – Chad and Jeremy. Back in the 60s while the world was busy screaming for rock and roll, Chad and Jeremy were stealing hearts with their soft, melodic folk-pop hits like “A Summer Song” and “Yesterday's Gone.” Their music was the soundtrack to daydreams, their harmonies were pure magic and to be honest, the British accents didn't hurt either. They discuss their wild ride from London to international stardom.

Peter Asher (Peter & Gordon) and Jeremy Clyde (Chad & Jeremy) were stars during the British Invasion era of the 1960s. Peter & Gordon had massive hits with songs like “A World Without Love” and “I Go To Pieces”. Peter went on to have an illustrious career in the music business, first as the head of A&R for Apple Records where he signed a then-unknown James Taylor, then as producer for many artists including Linda Ronstadt, and currently as the host of “From Me To You”, a weekly Beatles show on Sirius/XM. Jeremy was half of Chad & Jeremy who had several big hits including “Yesterday's Gone” and “A Summer Song”. He tours together with Peter these days. We do two Songfests - one where we select and discuss several favorite British Invasion era songs by other artists that were One Hit Wonders or off the beaten path. And the other where we play and discuss a few of Peter & Gordon's hits plus a Peter and Jeremy song.My featured song is “This Time” from the album “Bobby M and the Paisley Parade”. Pop music is as quintessential to the summer as warm breezes, lazy afternoons, and margaritas by the pool. And for decades, musical artists have been inspired by the season to create memorable, catchy songs that have, in turn, become required listening every time the warmer months roll around. So for one of our 2024 Summer Specials, the Great Pop Culture Debate wants to feel the heat as we name the Best "Summer" Song. Songs discussed include “Cruel Summer” by Bananarama; “Summer in the City” by The Lovin' Spoonful; “Cool for the Summer” by Demi Lovato; “Summer Breeze” by Seals & Crofts; “California Gurls” by Katy Perry & Snoop Dogg; “Summer of ‘69” by Bryan Adams; “The Boys of Summer” by Don Henley; “Sailing” by Christopher Cross; “Come Sail Away” by Styx; “Summer Lovin'” from Grease; “Under the Boardwalk” by The Drifters; “I Get Around” by The Beach Boys; and more! Join host Eric Rezsnyak, GPCD panelists Derek Mekita and Kate Racculia, and special guest Ashleigh Stiles from Wizard Radio as they discuss 16 of the most popular songs associated with the summer. Play along at home by finding the listener bracket here. Make a copy for yourself, fill it out, and see if your picks match up with ours! Although we preach "fade DB" in IDP, that doesn't mean we dislike cornerbacks and safeties! In fact, thanks to an influx of young talent, the dynasty DB ranks are filled with studs we'd like to have on our teams. In this episode, Josh and Adam go through the top 24 DBs in Adam's dynasty rankings to see which guys are being overvalued and undervalued, who's due for regression in 2024, and which assets we like best long term. Shout out to Kentucky's own Matt Duncan for the intro and outro music. The song sampled in this episode is "Summer Song" off Matt's 2013 album "Soft Times." You can check out more of Matt's music here. Subscribe to our YouTube channel for our other shows, The IDP After Show, The IDP Trade Show, IDP Drafts, and IDP Bets.
