We talk about a way in which the Left can expand its voting base and better help our fellow citizens to understand why we are Leftists, as well as discussion about the news in general.
Like many of you I am stunned by the sudden loss of one of our brightest stars, Micheal Brooks died yesterday at the age of 37. An incredible man who lived an incredible life, this episode is a tribute to him. I play 4 clips and discuss them in between tears and try to pay homage to the man that inspired me to start this podcast. I along with Left Twitter mourn his passing and feel his loss. RIP Michael Brooks, I love you and will try to emulate the empathy and compassion you showed others so readily.
30 minute episode where we go over my thoughts on the recent protests and what I think is different about these protests when compared to the past. Get activated! Get radical! Get into the streets and join us, march together and we will see positive change!
We go through a whole host of articles covering the wealthiest and most powerful people in the world, how they're benefiting from this pandemic, and a brief story about my own frustrations with being a cog in someone else's wealth making. We talk about Joe Kennedy vs. Ed Markey and why Ted is basically just a family name concealing a Pete Buttigieg agenda. and ICE is even more of a disgusting fascist institution than you may have believed! Lot of bad news folks, but I promise it's all worth listening to.
We discuss the recent developments in the Tara Reade accusation against Democratic Candidate Joe Biden, inculding neighbors who have come forward to corroborate her story. John Cusack calls on Bernie to un-suspend his campaign now that New York has take Senator Sanders off the ballot. We also go into the May 1st workers strike planned at Amazon, Instacart, Whole Foods, Walmart, Target, and FedEx and how this is the kind of activism people should involve themselves in now that the campaign has ended.4
I go into my experience as a Bernie volunteer and why I'm conflicted over who to vote for in November. From my point of view Bernie put us all in a situation where no choice is a good or even remotely adequate choice. Thank you all for your patience I've been in a bit of a mood since this crisis started but I'm glad to be recording again!
We discuss Katie Halpers recent interview with Alexandra Tara Reade, I express my internal conflict over what to do should Biden ultimately face Trump. The world has never needed Bernie Sanders more than right now, but the powerful in the country seem determined to stop him at all costs. All the while COVID-19 has many of us trapped at home and makes the argument for why we need a socialist form of government to combat global crises. I cover an article which I link to here https://www.counterpunch.org/2020/03/20/capitalism-is-an-incubator-for-pandemics-socialism-is-the-solution/
We talk about what we need to see out of Bernie going forward and I discuss why I think it is foolish to abandon the democratic party even after their unspoken war on us and our ideals. Changing the world takes time folks but it is always worth it, never stop fighting.
We talk about the tight race between Sanders and Biden, why this needs to be a moment of clarity for the movement and our time to focus everything we've got on getting Bernie Sanders to the White House. No one ever said this would be easy but if we take aim at Biden, and start challenging Elizabeth Warren we can drive a wedge into the party and win. #NotMeUs
In a desperate fit of rage the billionaire class is trying everything they can to stop Bernie's surging popularity, including lying about his medical records not be released when of course they were back in December. This comes on the heels of a full week of Bernie Bro bashing, and seems to indicate some concern from the ruling class on Bernie's ever increasing poll numbers, but hey don't take my word for it we've got several billionaires who will tell you themselves exactly what they think of Bernie Sanders. Apologies for the episode being a day late I had some Bernie training stuff last night for door to door canvassing.
We cover a brief breakdown of the Iowa Caucus strange coincidences timeline, review the numbers coming out of New Hampshire, mention Andrew Yang dropped out (fail to mention Michael Bennet dropped out because who cares) and cover several recent media clips which showcase just how bad our corporate news has become in recent days. #FireChuckTodd should not be just a trending on Twitter it should have already happened.
We go over all news currently available around the Iowa Caucus results, the company Shadow that made the App used for counting votes, and its gross conflict of interests with the Pete Buttigieg campaign. The DNC seems content to hide in their offices and limo's for the time being as they have dodged all requests for the final vote tallies.
We talk about the recent news with Bernie surging in all the major battleground earlier voting states, and how it has triggered a slew of toxic takes from the major establishment news mouthpieces, inspiring a new segment i'll be calling Toxic Takes. I suspect in the coming days more will be added. We also cover why it isn't very realistic that this supposed capital flight or capital strike reaction to a Bernie election could actually happen, and if it did it would be the doom of the wealthy not us.
We talk about the recent Bernie backing away from a Biden hit piece, Hillary and how she still seems miffed over 2016, and Martin Luther King Jr. day. All of this references the last 48 hours so yeah... our news has been hectic this year and I'm already done with 2020.
We cover the most recent smear campaign against Bernie Sanders and why it's crazy. This desperate ploy came on the eve of a debate which we also cover, if you're reading this and the debate is going on right now stop what you're doing and go watch! Otherwise, we show the FULL CLIP of the ladies from the View and explain why Joe is so tired of hearing the opinions of rich people.
We briefly go over the most recent escalation of tensions with Iran as a result of the assassination of Qasem Soleimani, the protest I attended in DC against further hostilities with Iran, and a recent call from the Majority Report with a Libertarian and his fantasy land theories. Using a new mic!
We talk briefly about some articles written by the New York Times and POLITICO showing the establishment might finally acknowledge Bernie can win, and cover a segment from November Jimmy did with Matt Orfalea where they largely accuse Bernie and his strategists of being ineffective and not standing by Matt sufficiently in the face of corporate smears. We put Bernie and his campaigns decisions in perspective for these ego maniacs.
We talk about the Borris Johnson victory in the UK, why I think it happened and what the UK people may not appreciate about their NHS as compared to here. We go through Bernies retracted endorsement of Cenk Uygur and a toxic account that may or may not be Sally Albright, and wrap up with some history about the “good” Billionaire Bill Gates.
We discuss the smears levied against Bernie Sanders by the Federalist claiming he’s an Antisemite, its similarities to the smears against Jeremy Corbyn and Trump supposedly fights Antisemitism by discriminating against Palestinians and trampling Freedom of Speech. We also discuss the recent mass shooting in Jersey City, and as our closer we discuss Noam Chomsky and his take on Bernies chances.
We cover what went wrong with the now “suspended” campaign of Senator Kamala Harris and how someone so loved by the media just couldn’t hack it. We also cover a story from 2014 about Bloomberg News and how it relates to candidate money-pants Mike Bloomberg today.
I tell a story about Twitter censoring me to protect little Pete’s feelings, and use it as motivation to explain the ins and outs of his pure awfulness. Obama joins in the fun with another challenge to the Progressive wave.
We talk about the recent shooting in Santa Clarita, showcase the similarities between Pete and Warrens Medicare for all who want it plans, and outline the argument for Open Borders using an article from The Nation.
This episode we cover today’s oligarchy update; Bill Gates is fine funding Republicans and letting the poor die, Tom Steyer has to pay for friends, and whose that stealing my 20oz cola?
We discuss the election and what that will mean for policy going forward in my home state of Virginia. Tomorrow will be another episode so stay tuned!
This is a longer than average episode where I explain my thought process on what will most likely happen, assuming a Bernie Sanders victory, once we try and pass a progressive agenda. We review the Senate primarily and how it’s makeup will impact our goals moving forward.
We talk about Bernie’s health and the repugnant lies and video edits that CNN is putting out. We also cover the situation with the Kurds in Northern Syria and why Trump is wrong to abandon them.
We discuss the most recent news with Bernie, his health, his fundraising, and his enemies. We also discuss how his campaigns success and Trumps recent agitations are apart of something bigger.
This episode we discuss the merits of starting the Impeachment process and the finer details of Bernie’s new Wealth Tax proposal.
We talk about how incoherent Joe Biden has become in these debates, but with a special focus on how the Washington Post has attempted to cover for him and act like he’s fine. We also run down John Bolton’s history of pro war policies and celebrate his dismissal from the White House.
We talk about voter shaming as a concept and what it really means. We also cover the Climate Crisis town halls that we’re had this week.
We talk about some recent polls regarding the presidential primary race, review the #BretBug incident, and go over the future for the candidates that are exiting the primary.
We talk about the recent incidents with the Mainstream Press attacking Bernie for a somewhat obvious criticism of the Washington Post, and why the Press are so united on this topic.
As the episode title suggests I believe it is time to Repeal the second Amendment. "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." This law is killing us, we have many freedoms in this country, but not the freedom to go to the store or a concert or a mall without threat of a White Nationalist Domestic terror attack. Remove the law that gives cover to murderers to be.
Today I go over some of my thoughts on the debates this past Tuesday and Wednesday. We also touch on healthcare and why the private industry can’t cut it.
We talk about recent polling trends for Senator Sanders and what polling data says Republicans value versus what rhetoric excites them
We talk about Joe Biden’s recent apologies in regards to his comments about Senator Eastman, and touch on how Bernie stacks up comparatively with the other candidates.
Recap of the debates, what this means for Sanders going forward and Biden fracturing support.
Longer episode I was inspired to do after debating Bernie’s candidacy with some Third Way bots, why Bernie is better than Warren
We talk about the goals of a Socialist perspective, what it is I’m advocating for and why I advocate for it. Dedicated to my young cousins who asked why I identified as a Socialist.
We talk about the Carlos Maza incident it’s implications and how the left can and should be principled on free speech while defending Maza. Welcome.
