The Black Lives Matter movement has created a wave of conversations that need to continue - conversations that don't blame or accuse or attack, but rather that build bridges and deepen understanding. I recently hosted a powerful conversation of understanding with an incredible panel of guests - Sajel Doshi Bellon, Buhle Dlamini, Josephine Marcellin and Bob Parker that brought in an amazing array of perspectives and experience from changing attitudes when Apartheid fell to how police forces are feeling to many other powerful places. I also share a massive realization I had on this journey that brought me a much deeper awareness of what is surfacing around the world.

Far too often we keep ourselves from things that we love or that will enhance our lives because of fears or concerns - or because the way we do things now is "the way we've always done it". Do you ever feel like you're sabotaging yourself? That you're doing the exact opposite of what you want to do to hold yourself back? Well, you probably are sabotaging yourself. Just as your body keeps its temperature constant at your "default setting" by sweating when you're in a hot environment or shivering when you're cold, it has a "default setting" for an internal GPS in your unconscious mind for your life that defines everything about you - your weight, your health, your relationship, your financial situation, your success and more. No goal-setting program or visioning will succeed until you can identify and delete this "default setting" and in this episode you'll learn how to map it so you can work on deleting it.

What have you not done that you may have always wanted to do because you were too nervous? Because you were too old? Because of what everyone else would say? Because it was impossible? This time, if you choose to accept it, can include the gift of exploring what truly brings you passion and living it - or not. Let's explore what could be...
Everyone is talking about finding the "new normal", but how do you find it? Discover how in this week's podcast.
One of the challenges with this pandemic is that so much is out of our control. We're living in uncertainty, and there's little we can do, so often our minds wander. I believe there's something else spreading virally underneath this that is more pervasive long-term, and this is something you absolutely can take action to stem - and change your future as you do.
The whole world is in grief for the "old normal", and that grief was amplified this past weekend in Nova Scotia with a tragedy that touched virtually everyone. In working through grief I've learned that we need to - we have to - reach out for help and support to heal. But, in the end, to find peace, we also need to reach within.
Ever since self-isolation and lockdown, there seems to be lots of pressure to learn new skills, be creative or be more productive. I'm here to tell you to ease off on yourself and give yourself the time you need to get used to all that's happened - and more importantly why that's important. For business owners and other leaders this applies to how you focus your leadership for your people in this time.
I woke up two days ago realizing I'd been through all of this before. Not the pandemic, but the uncertainty, anxiety and knowing the world would never be the same again. With that realization came what I'd learned, and there's one choice that changes everything - a choice you can make today to change your experience in this self-isolating world.
