WE'RE BACK with SEASON 2! After a really successful Season 1, building from zero to hero, we ended up with 10s of 000s of people listening which is incredible! Then lockdown happened. It hit me hard, of course, being in management I have had to take some serious time to re imagine what everything looks like professionally. Feeling like things are starting to take shape, feeling fresh and ready to go again. Ready to bring another season with a new framing; As a creative being who has chosen this existence, there are probably several events that you could not plan for which propelled you on the path you are on. Which just goes to show, we are not necessarily in control of very much at all! This episode's guest is none other than Ian Little. He has produced albums for Duran Duran, Roxy Music and several other Multi Platinum artists. He made millions, lost millions, ended up homeless on the streets of Manhattan, New York battling against winter! He suffered from Hepatitus C before there was any kind of cure AND he has now written his life story down. The main this is he is very much alive at 66, he is smiling and happy and he takes us through his life story and how he managed to cope and survive that crazy journey and keep on going today. His book will be out towards the end of November and you will be able to purchase it from: www.Ian-Little.com I am still offering the Lockdown special of the Staying Sane In The Music Game Audiobook absolutely free from the website: www.stayingsane.org Please spread the word to another muso of your choice and let's keep having these conversations about mental health and going insane and then staying sane! Many blessings!

Firstly, thank you to all the new listeners, you sharing this pod with others has helped a lot as the figures have gone through the roof! So thank you for your support and please continue to press those share buttons and share with your friends. This episode discusses where the line is, between, coming up with the gold, which is original, brilliant, authentic and genius or producing something safe, cliché and unoriginal? There must be a formula and that is what I discuss here. As well as a formula, there is the inevitability of failure. Well, of course, how do you come up with something that no one else would? By being brave and taking the risk that actually, you don't know enough about where the edge is and may end up either falling over the edge of the cliff OR not going near enough to the edge. This is a philosophical subject that plays out in our everyday activities, from the mundane to the creative, from the tiny to the large. Of course some things desire us to just nail, be safe and not take risks. But when it comes to art, we need to be brave, take risks, be prepared to fail in order to seek out and bring back the gold to the people. We always hear successful people say that they had to fail. But I wanted to dig deeper into that and many other ideas about the idea of how we find that which is gold, sought out by people and found to be valuable and really stands out. As always, if you enjoy this podcast please rate and review with your podcast provider so that it is easier for others to find it. #9 - Impact

What happens if instead of thinking about our own motivations and what we want, we start to look outside ourselves and what we can offer. Thinking about the incredible impact we can have on just one person. If we decide not to meet up with someone because 'I'm tired, low energy, can't be bothered', what impact does that have? On the other hand, if we value what we can bring and think 'how will I make this person's life experience better' what positive effect we have on someone else's life. Instead of thinking about the hundreds or thousands of audience members we need to have a successful career, what if we highten our awareness of the impact we can have daily on just ONE other person. Bitesize wisdoms continue. It is my job to speak about this. Please share this podcast to anyone you feel will benefit. We are excited to release this podcast.  How many times have you been told to 'go get some help' or 'go and  talk to someone about issues' ? Maybe someone suggested psychotherapy  or counselling? Well, we demonstrate here using the author of Staying Sane In The  Music Game - Brett Leboff and a trained professional psychotherapist,  just what that may look like.  "I really feel that this is a public service, most therapists or their clients would not be open to doing this. I agreed and persuaded the  therapist because, I think this is an extremely important pursuit. In  demonstrating what a session like this can achieve, perhaps more  people will open their hearts to what can be a beautiful and  transformational experience.  Please spread this podcast around to share that service and help open  us to the help available" Brett Leboff This podcast is powered by the audiobook, physical and kindle book  'Staying Sane In The Music Game' for free resources and more info you  can go to www.stayingsane.org and it is available from all the usual  online book stores worldwide.

This podcast was an interview that I did with the 'Your Music Industry Podcast' by the Liverpool Audio Network and Help Musicians UK. It was a great interview and I think you'll get a lot from it with regards to understanding my journey, the book content and inspiration for how to live the healthiest lives in the music industry. In 2016, Help Musicians UK undertook research which suggested that people working in the music industry are 3 times more likely to experience depression and anxiety compared to the general public. Ladies and Gentlemen so excited to step things up with Keith Cooper on the Podcast. Keith managed the Brit Award winning Finley Quaye when the multi platinum selling album 'Maverick A Strike' was released which had multiple hit singles on it including 'Sunday Shining' and 'Even After All'. He also managed Cut Chemist from Jurassic 5, legendary Drum n Bass Producer Aphrodite which meant bringing us the era defining 'Aphrodite' album, as well as Ian Brown of the Stone Roses. Furthermore, he managed the Multi Platinum selling Stereo MCs for over 13 years seeing them through record breaking sales and 2 Brit Awards, and huge tours. Then on top of that he also managed PM Dawn again Multi Platinum sales and Brit Awards. Then also for management there was also the Jungle Brothers, Just Jack, Scribz Riley, Aaradhna & Joe Fox. Truth & Soul are currently a producer duo who he is excited to be managing who have co written tracks for Adele on her multi platinum selling album, and is also responsible for Aloe Blacc & music supervision & production on Red Dead Redemption. If this was not enough he also ran a publishing company that held/hold the worldwide rights for publishing of material by Finlay Quaye, Jurassic 5, Aphrodite, Ian Brown, Just Jack, Truth & Soul and Adele. On top of this Keith is now a qualified Psychotherapist, having completed an MA in Psychotherapy, he has a private practice as well as continuing management and publishing in music. This was a gripping conversation where we really went under the hood and spoke about human behaviour in the music industry. I also ended up exposing some of my recent behaviour and ended up having some counselling from Keith and we deconstruct where those behaviours were coming from. I think this conversation is a gift to any aspiring musician, pro musician or aspiring or music industry pro. Remember if you like the podcast please leave a review and share it to a close friend who you know will like it. These kind of conversations are a gift to get an insider view from experienced people who have made mistakes and suffered, so that you can avoid those stresses and strains. Also to help you if you are feeling the struggle. Please SHARE to a friend and help the conversation go to the people that need to hear this!
