Welcome to this episode of Plot Spackle. Today marks a special day, in that the guys continue their annual tradition of fixing Jurassic plot holes. In today's episode the guys discuss the movie Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. We find out that John knows his way around cults. Eric wants Die Hard with Dinosaurs. And Richard lets us know that everyone deserved to die. Also the guys apparently don't know where Costa Rica actually is, we just want to address that right now. So sneak aboard a supersonic ocean liner. Grab some sweet hybrid snacks, and listen to Plot Spackle!Music: TheFatRat - Epic https://lnk.to/ftrepic
(image source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Koparion) Host Matthew Donald and guest co-host Natasha Krech discuss Koparion, a really old member of its family that's known by its teeth, kind of like my great uncle from Oregon we all try to avoid. From the Late Jurassic, this 3-foot troodontid is getting paleontologists ever so close to discovering that elusive Jurassic era dromaeosaurid, but alas, we have not found it yet, just close relatives. Paleontology's like your crush sometimes: mysterious, attractive, but ultimately disappointing and leaving you with unanswered questions. Want to further support the show? This episode contains SPOILERS for "Jurassic World: Dominion" Jack Ewins, previous guest from our ‘Pod of Tea' episode and host of the YouTube Channel "TerrorDome 3000," joins Candy and Ashley to discuss the final chapter in the “Jurassic” series, “Jurassic World: Dominion.” Jack has worked on the website marketing campaign for the past three ‘World' films. He gives the inside scoop on how a broken arm (plus one very well-timed tweet) snowballed him from a long-time super-fan to eventually being called a ‘partner' in the ‘Jurassic' Journey. Topics include MAJOR spoilers for “JW: Dominion,” behind-the-scenes stories, the backstory of how he and his team created the marketing videos found on DinoTracker.com, his feelings about the series ending, and his thoughts on where the Jurassic Universe could go from here. Friend of the show and wife to Jack, Emma joins us toward the end of the interview to weigh in on just how much ‘Jurassic Park' has affected her life, including the couple's wedding vows! You also get Jurassic world this week! Sorry... Jurassic World Dominion is a 2022 American science fiction action film directed by Colin Trevorrow, written by Trevorrow and Emily Carmichael and based on a story by Trevorrow and Derek Connolly. It is a sequel to Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom (2018), and the sixth installment in the Jurassic Parkfranchise, and the third and final film in the Jurassic World trilogy, and the conclusion to the storyline started in the original Jurassic Park trilogy. As with its predecessors, Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley produced the film with Trevorrow and Jurassic Park (1993) director Steven Spielberg acting as executive producers. The film stars an ensemble cast including Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Sam Neill, DeWanda Wise, Mamoudou Athie, BD Wong, and Omar Sy. Dern, Goldblum, and Neill reprise their roles from the Jurassic Park trilogy, appearing together for the first time since the 1993 film. The film is set four years after the events of Fallen Kingdom, with dinosaurs now living alongside humans around the world.

Firstly, please help my chronic comic addiction by following this link: https://whatnot.com/invite/comicfan22 And signing up for something that destroys eBay in terms of fun. Anyhoo, this week we are joined by the original We Watched a Thing to discuss the movie, Jurassic Park. And no not the new Jurassic movie, becauise we are arrogant film bros. Speaking of which, this week we ponder things like: What really was the biggest pile of s**t in this movie? At what point should a dinosaur have said “Alan"? Can you really claim to have spared no expense when you hire the clearly loose unit that is Denis Nedry? But of course the best questions are from our premier Patreons: Emily, Julio, Dave, Dan, Chris, Nerdtrovert and Nick! Wanna join them and help shape the show? Well you can join them here: www.patreon.com/mritqs Emily also has her own podcast, which you can find here: https://www.tastelesspod.com/ As does Julio! Find it here: http://www.wearethecontrarians.com/ And check out Dave's stuff! Jurassic World: Dominion The sixth Jurassic movie is here and the YHS crew have thoughts, 65 million years in the making! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/yhspodcast/support
The new JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION is in constant, open communication with 1993's JURASSIC PARK, from its nostalgic casting to its egregious callbacks. But there's more going on in Colin Trevorrow's second sequel to JURASSIC WORLD — perhaps too much, thanks in part to the layers of new mythology that the 2015 film added to the original JURASSIC PARK formula. Is this merging of the two JURASSIC eras to be derided or commended for its ambition in stretching beyond the “dinosaurs on an island” conceit? We argue it out in our discussion of DOMINION, before placing it side-by-side with its source material to consider how the franchise has evolved, and not, in its anthropomorphizing of dinosaurs, its thematic interest in parenthood and reproduction, and its attitudes toward science, heroism, and corporate evil. Plus, the return of Your Next Picture Show, with a recommendation from Keith of Phil Tippett's MAD GOD. Now that Jurassic World Dominion is out Tony and Jordan (from Geek Anything) discuss all 5 Jurassic Park sequels and try to decide what is the best one. Four years after the destruction of Isla Nublar, dinosaurs now live and hunt alongside humans all over the world. This fragile balance will reshape the future and determine, once and for all, whether human beings are to remain the apex predators on a planet they now share with history's most fearsome creatures.
Almost 30 years ago, Michael Crichton's novel "Jurassic Park" was adapted by Steven Spielberg into a mega-blockbuster hit that showcased dinosaurs in a way never thought possible on the big screen. The film launched a franchise with 5 more films, video games, toys, theme park attractions and has become a staple of pop culture. Chris and Taylor are joined by comedian/actor Nick Gligor to discuss their favorite memories, the impact on Hollywood and what the future holds for the Jurassic franchise.
