It all started with a simple but tough question: ‘How would I do things differently if this was the last year of my life?’ This show documents the daily journey of me striving for more in business and life! Over the next couple of episodes, I'm going to share my perspective on the 7 Cardinal Rules of an 80:20 Sales Pro shared by Perry Marshall in his book 80/20 Sales and Marketing. Keep Striving! Stian
This episode has a little challenge in it for you... Listen to find out what it is. Inspired by 'How to Get Away With Murder'. Keep Striving! Stian
‘You'll never experience thriving until you start striving... consistently.' The concept of thriving is nothing new. In fact, there are very few people on this planet who wouldn't want ‘more or better' than they have now. - More Money - Better Relationships - More Freedom - Better Body - Etc Progress, growth, and expansion are part of life. Because if you're not growing, you're slowly but surely dying. That's where Striving comes in. Simply striving to be 1% better than yesterday is all it takes. Nothing crazy or extreme necessary, unless you want to
‘Unworthiness is NOT worth your time.' Most people experience a sense of unworthiness which ends up destroying their lives. A lack of self-worth can stem from a bunch of different places, for a lot it boils down to something that happened in their childhood. For me, well mine stems from my biological father writing me off as his ‘child' when I was 3-years old. Even though I haven't spoken to him in 25 years and I have no intention of doing so, he still left a void... A void of feeling unworthy and making decisions based on me wanting to please others or having them accept me. In case you didn't know this, living a life guided by other people's opinions is a recipe for disaster. Felt like sharing this today just to remind you... YOU ARE WORTHY! Keep Striving! Stian
'You'll always take as much time as you give yourself to get it done.' Deadlines... Love them or hate them, they were created for a reason, but I want you to consider a different approach for a second... What instead of focusing on how much time you had to get something done (a.k.a deadline) you looked at how to be more effective but with a lot less effort (a.k.a efficiency/trimming the fat)... This is key to destressing and finding more fulfillment in what you do. Keep Striving! Stian
'Live a Solution-Based Lifestyle and You'll Never Be Caught With Your Pants Down...Again.' Now, I know some of you reading this is going to take that literally... I know I would - that's the gutter brain in me shouting ALERT, ALERT, ALERT! Back to my insight for today without thinking about doing pants around your ankles things with people you're not supposed to. There are two ways to live life... 1. See the problem, get upset about the problem, freak out, and shout at everyone while continuing to have the same problem. 2. See the problem, get upset (it's human nature), laugh, think... dammit this sucks... continue looking for different ways to solve that problem. Simple? Definitely! Easy? Nope! It takes a ton of practice, just like anything else in life. Keep Striving! Stian
'The journey of growth sucks most of the time, but without it, we're simply dying.' Today is just one of those days that doing what needs to be done is HARD, like extremely hard. I think the universe listened to yesterday's episode about Results and Resilience and decided to throw some resilience my way. Here's the truth that very few 'gurus' are willing to share... Growth is not always fun, sometimes it's quite uncomfortable... a lot of the time the journey simply sucks... but in the end, without growing we're simply dying. Stick that in your pipe and smoke it
'Challenges in Life are Inevitable, so you might as well Engineer them Yourself.' Life is full of obstacles, bad luck, crappy situations, betrayal, misfortune, etc. So if you know this to be true, why not just live a life where you engineer your own challenges? You'll generally get one of two outcomes: 1. Resilience - a.k.a things didn't go as planned. 2. Results - a.k.a you got what you wanted. If there's one thing I've learned from life's challenges, it's this... 'It's better to forge resilience while you can before you're forced to have resilience when you can't.' Living a challenged-based lifestyle gives you the best of both worlds: 1. You get to build up the resilience you need when the shit storm hits. 2. You actively work on progress and growth. Keep Striving! Stian
'The Right Morning Routine can be a Great Source of Power' This one is pretty self-explanatory but read that one again... Now, imagine the opposite. Because that's also true. 'The Wrong Morning Routine can be a Great Source of [Insert Negative]' Negative = Chaos / Depression / Distruction / Unhappy / etc Keep Striving! Stian
'You can't win the race if you don't make some space' Walk into any room what do you see? People, possessions, and other material things. Physical things you can see and touch. How often do we consider the empty spaces between and around those physical things? The more things you add, the more uncomfortable that space becomes for you to live in... That's why 'self-storage' facilities have become such a big thing. Houses are getting smaller and people have too much shit, so what do they do? They remove it and put it into a storage facility to create space... Well, consider that your mind works on the same principle. The more shit you add to it, the more uncomfortable it becomes for you to stay focused and be effective on a daily basis. The solution? Create space with some quiet time where you simply sit and take a couple of deep breaths to de-stress. As simple as that. With that said, I'm off for my meditation session
'The Weakest Dimension is the one that will ultimately destroy everything for you.' Most people are extremely strong or tend to focus most of their time on one area of their life, never considering... You're only as strong as your weakest link. - How would you rate your mental and emotional focus? - How would you rate your health and the ability of your body to provide daily energy? - How would you rate the relationships and overall fulfillment in your life? - How would you rate your business, work, or overall financial stability? If one of these is off, soon all of them might be off. For me, it's business and financial stability. I have 3 out of 4 sorted, but this one area is weighing me down. So I'm focused on improving business while continuing to excel in the other 3. Where are you weak at, and do you know it's time to move to a better solution? Keep Striving! Stian
Today is episode 82 which also means I completed workout 82 for the year this morning. Now my workouts aren't nearly as intense as they once were and that's because... I'm not trying to achieve some 'look good in the mirror' goal, but rather want my body to produce enough energy for me to stay focused and complete everything I want to get done daily. The key to Striving Solo and Living What You Lead is the commitment to stay the course without overcomplicating things. Stay Awesome! Stian

I hate politics and it's not something you'll ever hear me talking about, but this episode touches a little bit on governments and everyone in between. Why? Well because many of us make the mistake of relying on people or specific things to be in place when we build a business and life. When it isn't, everything comes crashing down. Stay Awesome! Stian
I love learning new stuff, expanding my knowledge, and getting better. The problem is when you're constantly learning, especially from different people, the advice you get might go against how you normally do things and end up causing you to procrastinate. Stay Awesome! Stian
Just woke from a midday nap before recording this episode. Why did I take a nap? Well, I wasn't able to complete my non-negotiables this morning so I used a nap to regroup for what needs to be done this afternoon and evening. Stay Awesome! Stian
