The boys are packing up the car and going on vacation with Bob Odenkirk and his family with the sequel Nobody 2. The first film was a surprise hit where Odenkirk went from delivering laughs to delivering ass whoopings, can the sequel live up to the original or it is this just another uninspired sequel?

Eventually, we'll get "Golden" and "Soda Pop" out of our heads. But for now, we're giving into the insanely catchy delights of "KPop Demon Hunters" on Breakfast All Day. Until then, you can catch it streaming and catch up with our catch-up review. We also review "Nobody 2," the sequel to the 2021 action comedy "Nobody." Bob Odenkirk returns with his particular set of skills, but all he wants to do is enjoy a quiet vacation with his family. In theaters. We did Movie News LIVE! for a second week in a row. Lots to discuss as always, including the trailer for "Marty Supreme," Park Chan-wook, Tom Cruise and more. Join us on Fridays at Noon Pacific. And finally, it's our "Weapons" LIVE spoiler chat. For this week's main podcast review, Josh Parham, Dan Bayer, Giovanni Lago & Joseln Safadi join me to review the sequel to 2021's "Nobody," "Nobody 2" starring Bob Odenkirk, Connie Nielsen, John Ortiz, RZA, Colin Hanks, Christopher Lloyd, and Sharon Stone. With Indonesian action director Timo Tjahjanto stepping into the director's chair and returning screenwriter Derek Kolstad (along with Aaron Rabin) setting the story in the fictional vacation town of Plummerville, there are enough new elements to warrant a sequel, but how do they all mix together? What did we think of it? Please tune in as we discuss the story, performances, action, comedy, and more in our SPOILER-FILLED review. Thank you for listening, and enjoy! Nick is joined by film critics Erik Childress and Steve Prokopy for their regular round of movie reviews. They dig into Spike Lee's gripping new drama with Denzel Washington, Highest 2 Lowest, the high-octane sequel Nobody 2 starring Bob Odenkirk, and the wild, shoestring-budget horror oddity Jimmy and Stiggs, along with a few other fresh releases. Esmeralda Leon later stops by to take a nostalgic trip through the flashy days of LA Gear sneakers, afternoons spent watching Figure It Out on Nickelodeon, and late-night Taco Bell runs—preferably with a wisecracking chihuahua in the commercials. Bob Odenkirk continues his action streak with the entertaining (but slightly mindless) Nobody 2. Americana proves to be a bigger mess than it's worth. In today's episode, we plunge into Nobody 2, the wild and bloody sequel that takes Bob Odenkirk's suburban dad-turned-assassin, Hutch Mansell, on a vacation that explodes—literally. He's back, and he's still a nobody... at least, to his enemies. This week, we're diving headfirst into the action-packed world of Hutch Mansell as we review the highly anticipated sequel, Nobody 2.Bob Odenkirk returns as the suburban dad with a lethal past, but this time, he's taking his family on a very "unrelaxing" vacation. We'll break down the brutal, bone-crunching action, the surprisingly goofy humor, and whether this sequel lives up to the high bar set by the original. Is it a worthy follow-up, or does it lose the spark that made the first film such a surprising hit? Grab your drinks, and let's get into it!
It is another epic review week on the show with Erik Childress and Steve Prokopy tackling 11 films. They range from a documentary about comedians navigating their worst condition (Anxiety Club) to an animated film about horny dogs (Fixed). Two friends fight against being abducted by aliens in an apartment (Jimmy & Stiggs) while two infamous cable staples from 1985 get reimagined without imagination (Witchboard, Red Sonja). Bob Odenkirk returns as a man of action (Nobody 2). Vanessa Kirby spends all night trying to gather money to save her home (Night Always Comes) and Spike Lee reteams with Denzel Washington in the best remake of the week; let alone one from Akira Kurosawa (Highest 2 Lowest).3:06 - Anxiety Club10:22 - Fixed17:13 - The Knife24:55 - Went Up the Hill32:34 - East of Wall40:17 - Witchboard51:28 - Red Sonja1:02:38 - Jimmy and Stiggs1:12:47 - Night Always Comes1:25:47 - Nobody 21:37:42 - Highest 2 LowestCLICK ON THE FILMS TO RENT OR PURCHASE AND HELP OUT THE MOVIE MADNESS PODCASTBe sure to check outChicago Screening Schedule - All the films coming to theaters and streamingPhysical Media Schedule - Click & Buy upcoming titles for your library.(Direct purchases help the Movie Madness podcast with a few pennies.)Erik's Linktree - Where you can follow Erik and his work anywhere and everywhere. The Movie Madness Podcast has been recognized by Million Podcasts as one of the Top 100 Best Movie Review Podcasts as well as in the Top 60 Film Festival Podcasts and Top 100 Cinephile Podcasts. This episode sees our cinematic duo turning their attention to Kiyoshi Kurosawa's new Japanese thriller, Cloud. This film, a hit at the spring film festivals and an Academy Award nominee, explores themes of capitalism through a young man reselling goods online. While some might expect a horror film based on Kurosawa's past work, Cloud is decidedly a thriller that keeps you guessing who to root for.Get ready for tonal shifts as the film evolves from a quiet drama to an absurd, action-packed thriller with characters who are — as our humble hosts remark — "an inch away from losing it." Dori and Kpolly also praise the unexpected character arcs of Yoshi's assistant, O, and his girlfriend, before moving on to their other recommendations: the 1980s-set, Pedro Pascal-starring Freaky Tales; and Bob Odenkirk's unexpected action turn in Nobody.
This week on Really Entertaining A-list B-movies:Bob Odenkirk (w/ Resting Chuck Norris Face) is an unremarkable family man—or so everyone thinks. After a home invasion leaves him humiliated, his buried skills as a lethal former government operative resurface with a vengeance. What follows is a bone-crunching, darkly funny rampage through the criminal underworld, featuring stolen kitty bracelets, bus fights that feel like a stuntman's dream, and a finale that turns suburban booby traps into mobster catchers. Directed by Ilya Naishuller, with Christopher Lloyd stealing scenes as Hutch's gun-happy dad, this is an overly efficient action flick that asks: what if John Wick had a mortgage?Subscribe to Great Bad Movies wherever you listen to podcastsMore Great Bad Movies online:InstagramGreat Bad Movies WebsiteYouTubeEmail us at greatbadmoviesshow@gmail.com Hosted on Acast. In this episode, we take a closer look at Nobody (2021), the high-octane action thriller that marks a striking departure for actor Bob Odenkirk. Known primarily for his work in comedy and drama, Odenkirk delivers a compelling and unexpected performance as Hutch Mansell, an unassuming family man whose quiet life belies a dangerous and highly trained past. Special attention is given to Odenkirk's physical and emotional transformation, as well as the film's place within the broader context of the modern action genre, following in the footsteps of titles like John Wick while establishing its own distinct voice.
