'My work is always botanically inspired. What I find most compelling in nature is when plants are struggling to find their place in the environment. As they fight to overcome the challenges of space and light, often surprising us with their juxtaposition, they create beauty through adaptation.' What a wonderfully open and light hearted chat we had with Max, we cover a wide range of topics, from who would play him a movie (who do you think …?); finding a like-minded community and flowers that are too floral. Max shares with us his inspirations, how he creates mini dramas within a design and elaborates further on the beautiful quote above. Here Fiona, Brigitte and Lucy are testing the audio ahead of the first recording (hence the in depth discussions on the less than interesting techy stuff). Initially, with no plans to release it to the world (certainly not in visual!) they eventually decided to ‘suck it up' and show a small glimpse into their relationship and what you can expect from future recordings. The absolute opposite of curated, it's a real flavour of what's to come, but with added guests and definitely no singing or flute-playing. You can view a visual version of this episode on our YouTube channel Or visit our website The Restless Creatives for more information.
