Today we're exploring unschooling—not just as an educational choice, but as a deeply personal and often healing journey for parents themselves. My guest is Esther Jones, an unschooling mother of three, the founder of The Unschool Space podcast, and the author of The Parent's Handbook to Unschooling Yourself. Esther was led into unschooling by her own children, who challenged her to unravel long-held beliefs about parenting, learning, and neurodiversity. Esther and I talk about what it really takes to step away from conventional expectations and learn to trust children's natural learning processes. We also explore the emotional work parents often need to do along the way, the importance of self-care and community support, and how mindfulness and self-compassion can become essential tools as families build lives beyond traditional schooling—ones where both kids and parents can truly thrive. About Esther Jones Esther Jones is an unschooling mother of three, founder of the The Unschool Space podcast and author of the recently published The Parent's Handbook to Unschooling Yourself.Esther was led into unschooling by her children, who have helped her unravel years of conditioned beliefs around parenting, children, learning and neurodiversity. Today, she supports other parents in transforming their mindset and building a life beyond traditional schooling in which their children and themselves can thrive, using mindfulness and self-compassion as the foundational tools for change. Things you'll learn from this episode How unschooling requires parents to unlearn old beliefs and embrace the discomfort that signals growth Why trusting children to lead their own learning allows them to explore in organic, joyful ways How self-care and community support strengthen a parent's ability to show up for their child in an unschooling environment Why each child's needs may look different from their parent's—and how modeling our own passions supports their learning How online resources can expand support networks and deepen confidence for unschooling families Why the unschooling journey often becomes a healing process for parents as much as a learning journey for kids Resources mentioned Esther Jones' website The Parent's Handbook to Unschooling Yourself by Esther Jones The Unschool Space Podcast Esther Jones on Instagram Esther Jones on Substack A Conversation with Dr. Naomi Fisher on Self-Directed Learning (Tilt Parenting podcast) Blake Boles and His Book, Why Are You Still Sending Your Child to School? If our mission is to help people, everyone, answer the most important question, what can I do? Then at some point we need to talk to the people who help really wealthy people, help people. So today's question, what can I do about high net worth philanthropy? And look, hey, maybe you're among the vast majority who just heard that and you're like, well, this one doesn't apply to me, but hear me out. We have some of the worst billionaires of all time, but if billionaires are gonna continue to exist, we all need to have a good idea of how we can push them to distribute their resources more effectively and ASAP.And I truly do believe that among high net worth individuals, there are some, especially younger folks that are dying to do exactly that. So whether that is you or definitely not you, or maybe you are adjacent to someone like that, I think there's something for everyone here.My guest today is Sharon Schneider. Sharon is the Founder of Integrated Capital Strategies LLC, a consulting firm that helps founders and family offices create positive social change using an expanded toolbox of resources and strategies that spans the return spectrum from grants to market rate investments. She's also the author of Handbook for An Integrated Life: A Practical Guide for Aligning Your Everyday Choices with Your Internal Compass, a number one new release on Amazon that helps individuals live into their values the same way her consulting helps business owners and family offices. Sharon previously served as the Executive Director of the Telluray Foundation, the Founding Director of the Walton Personal Philanthropy Group, and the co-founder and CEO of Moxi Jean, a for-profit social enterprise that was acquired by Schoola in 2015. Sharon was named a Colorado Governor's Fellow in 2022 and in 2024 was named an Aspen Institute Finance Leader Fellow, and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network.Again, I really do think there's something for everyone here. This is a really important conversation in a time of growing inequality. We gotta help more people.-----------Have feedback? Welcome to Part 2 of my Top 100 Sci-Fi Reads of All Time (2025 Edition), where we move into ranks 80 through 61 — the section where the list starts to feel dangerous. This tier is packed with dystopias, survival stories, space opera, monsters, conspiracies, and big ideas colliding with bad human decisions. Many of these books ranked higher last year but were pushed down as my sci-fi reading expanded. Others are brand-new arrivals making strong first impressions. These may not be my absolute favorites — but they're all books I'm glad I read.If you enjoy sci-fi rankings, genre history, and honest takes from a lifelong speculative fiction reader, be sure to Like, Subscribe, and Ring the Bell so you're ready for what's next.

Become the FEARLESS entrepreneur you dream about: https://www.findingpeak.com Watch on YouTube: https://youtu.be/6HogwYeVQfo They're lying to you. Your doctor, the health gurus, the whole system. They tell you feeling like crap is just “part of getting older.” That the brain fog, the belly fat, the rock-bottom energy, and the non-existent sex drive is just your “new normal” now that you're 40. It's a lie. And it's a lie that's not only killing your quality of life—it's killing your business. In this episode, I sit down with Dr. Tracy Gapin, a former surgeon turned men's health optimization expert who is pulling back the curtain on the catastrophic decline in men's health. We expose the truth about why testosterone levels have plummeted 45% in the last 20 years, why your GP's advice is dangerously outdated, and how you can stop the slow decay and reclaim the energy, focus, and drive you thought you'd lost forever. This isn't about a few diet tips or another useless supplement. This is the blueprint to rebuilding yourself from the cellular level up. Stop accepting mediocrity. Your peak is still ahead of you. The workplace in 2025 feels like it's moving at double speed. Federal contractors saw affirmative action requirements disappear virtually overnight. DEI programs have gone from top priority to barely mentioned in less than a year. AI is racing ahead of regulation, and states like Massachusetts are charting their own course while the federal government pulls in the opposite direction.Pete Wright sits down with Tom Jones and Kyle Pardo to make sense of it all. They walk through what the rollback of Executive Order 11246 means for employers still figuring out what they're required to track, how DEI is quietly shifting toward broader inclusion efforts, and why Massachusetts employers need to watch for changes to state average weekly wage calculations. The conversation also touches on what AI regulation might look like when the technology is evolving faster than lawmakers can keep up, and why remote work mandates are hitting morale harder than many leaders expected. But the biggest revelation comes from AIM's latest HR practices survey: for the first time in years, employee engagement and morale have become the number one priority for employers heading into 2026, surpassing even compensation. It's a signal that something fundamental has shifted in how organizations are thinking about their people. This episode offers a clear-eyed look at the year that was and what HR teams should be watching as they head into the next.AIM members can reach the HR Helpline at 800-470-6277 or helpline@aimnet.org for inquiries Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (EST).
