What if we embraced neurodivergent ways of being not as deviations to be corrected but as vital ways of inhabiting the world? What new realities might emerge? Bringing a much-needed humanistic perspective to the study of autism and other forms of neurodivergence, Counter-Cartographies: Neurodivergence and the Errancies of Performance (U Minnesota Press, 2025) offers a bold reimagining of neurological difference, moving beyond rigid diagnostic frameworks to uncover more expansive, generative modes of existence. Engaging the work of Fernand Deligny to trace how modern taxonomies of neurodivergence have hardened over time, Leon J. Hilton questions how these categories might instead serve as tools for remapping the world with neurodivergence at its center. At the heart of Counter-Cartographies is an exploration of performance and performativity that reveals how the norm of neurotypical reality is continually reinforced through acts of doing, redoing, and undoing. Charting the historical shift away from “mind” and toward “brain” and moving fluidly across disciplines—from digital art and documentary cinema to cybernetics and radical mental health movements—Hilton illuminates the deep interconnections between performance, perception, and the historical construction of the “neurotypical.” Through close readings of works by William Pope.L, Mel Baggs, Wu Tsang, and others, Hilton also examines how neurodivergence has been represented, embodied, and materialized in contemporary art and media. Restless, engrossing, and persistently attuned to moments of rupture when the neurotypical order falters, Counter-cartographies charts a path toward a more capacious, imaginative world. Leon J. Hilton is assistant professor of theatre arts and performance studies and co-convener of the Disability Studies Working Group at Brown University. He is a member of the editorial collective of the journal Social Text and on the advisory board of Spectrum Theatre Ensemble, a neurodiverse theatre company based in Providence, Rhode Island. The episode teases major spoilers and potential relationship complications, particularly for Billy and Sally and Claire and Kyle. Here's a closer look at their predicaments. Y&R sees Billy Abbott, known for his tumultuous relationships and history of infidelity, is involved with Sally Spectra. Despite his past, he has been a good partner to Sally and hasn't let her down yet. This week, Billy makes a significant commitment to Sally, which might not be business-related despite his recent appointment of Sally as the CEO of AbbottCom. Young and Restless sees Claire Newman reacts negatively to Kyle Abbott's sudden proposal, leading her to question her life choices. Kyle's proposal, coming soon after his confession about his dishonesty regarding Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver), left Claire feeling overwhelmed. The true meaning of godly rest comes not through vacations or "me time," but through entering a state of trust that God has already prepared for believers today.• Biblical rest exists as a promise already established for us• God designed Sabbath not as rigid religious obligation but as time to appreciate His goodness• Our past failures and sins do not disqualify us from experiencing God's rest• Rest requires active obedience rather than passivity or laziness• The Holy Spirit "pulls focus" in our lives, directing our attention consistently to Jesus• We often forfeit rest by letting worldly distractions dictate our priorities• Faith focuses the promise of rest, Sabbath frames it, and obedience keeps it clear• What pulls focus in your life affects everything—your peace, priorities and perspective• True rest isn't dependent on circumstances but on who you're trusting• Entering God's rest means stepping out of restlessness into what He's already prepared
Do you ever feel restless, chaotic, and unsure — even when you're doing everything ‘right'? You're reading the books, following the advice, trying the proven systems, and still wondering why obedience to God feels so hard. In this episode, we get real about why Christian women struggle with obedience, second-guessing, and inner chaos. The truth is: you're not broken, and you're not failing — but you may be letting other voices grow louder than God's. Even well-meaning people, pastors, or mentors can't replace His direction. If you've ever thought, ‘I can't tell if this is God or just me,' or ‘Why do I feel so unsettled when my life looks fine on the outside?' this conversation is for you. We'll uncover why advice can't give you peace, how to recognize when obedience feels heavy, and what it really means to let God's voice be the loudest. You don't need another checklist or quick fix. You need clarity, peace, and confidence that comes from hearing God above the noise. Let's talk about how to get there. ✨ Don't forget to subscribe for more faith-based encouragement on marriage, wellness, and living boldly in Christ. Restless animals roamed the roads which contained some potholes so deep men could drown, and drown they did. From bear attacks in north Oxford to a bowls-on-ice-incident on the Thames, this book uses a remarkable trove of sources and stories to put common folk back into the big picture of Tudor England, bringing the reality of their world to life as never before. *trigger warning, podcast discussion includes death and accidents. Daily Soap Opera Spoilers by Soap Dirt (GH, Y&R, B&B, and DOOL)
Click to Subscribe: https://bit.ly/Youtube-Subscribe-SoapDirt Young and the Restless sees Claire Newman (Hayley Erin) is left devastated when Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) discloses a secret he's been hiding. Kyle believes proposing to Claire might mend their relationship, but it could lead to disaster. After confessing about an encounter with Audra Charles (Zuleyka Silver) in France, a shocked Claire questions Kyle's honesty. Kyle's narrative, though only partly truthful, is enough to deeply hurt Claire who values honesty after being misled by her great aunt, Jordan Howard (Colleen Zenk). Young and Restless sees that as Claire seeks advice from her mother, Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) and grandmother, Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), they acknowledge Kyle's mistake but emphasize that it's Claire's decision whether to forgive him or not. Meanwhile, Kyle, feeling guilty and desperate to salvage their relationship, contemplates proposing to Claire. He believes that this grand gesture might convince her of his genuine love. Y&R sees the return of Harrison Locke (Redding Munsell) could play a significant role in Kyle's proposal plan. However, an unexpected wedding proposal might trigger Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), Claire's grandfather, who has been scheming to prevent a Newman-Abbott union. A potential wedding might also be sabotaged by a vengeful Audra, who blames Claire and Kyle for her split with Nate Hastings (Sean Dominic). Young and the Restless sees Holden Novak (Nathan Owens), who has feelings for Claire, might also interrupt the wedding, possibly influenced by Audra. Furthermore, Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn), being blackmailed by Victor, might be forced to ruin the wedding. Despite all the potential obstacles, it remains to be seen if Kyle's proposal will be accepted by Claire and if their wedding, if it happens, will go off without a hitch. Friends of the Rosary,While we continue praying for the two children killed, the injured, and their families, at a shooting during a Mass held at Annunciation Catholic Church in Minneapolis, by a demonic gunman, today, August 28, the Catholic Church celebrates the Memorial of St. Augustine (354-430).Born at Tagaste, North Africa, the son of St. Monica had a life of excesses until St. Ambrose converted him.The prayer and tears of his mother, the sanctity of Milan's Bishop Ambrose, the book of St. Anthony the hermit, and the sacred Scriptures brought him to conversion (metanoia), sealed by baptism on Easter night 387, with his mother as witness.Returning to Tagaste, he distributed his goods to the poor and was ordained a priest. He was appointed bishop of Hippo at the age of 41 and became one of the most influential theologians, particularly in clarifying the doctrines of the Trinity, grace, and the Church.Augustine, numbered among the four great Doctors of the Western Church, was a prolific writer and a saint with an inexhaustible spirituality. He wrote the Confessions and The City of God, a worthy memorial to his genius, a philosophy of history.Augustine's episcopal life was filled with battles against heretics. From his encounter with Pelagius, who denied the necessity of grace, he earned the surname "Doctor of grace."As an emblem, Christian art accords him a burning heart to symbolize the ardent love of God which permeates all his writings.Founder of canonical life in common, Augustinian monks and the Hermits honor him as their spiritual father. He famously said, "Restless is the heart until it rests in God."“The life and witness of St. Augustine reminds us that each of us has received gifts and talents from God and that our vocation, our fulfillment, and our joy come from giving them back in loving service to God and others,” Pope Leo XIV, an Augustinian, said today. Not surprisingly, his papal motto, “In Illo uno, unum” (“In the one Christ, we are one”), comes from a homily by St. Augustine.Ave Maria!Jesus, I Trust In You!Come, Holy Spirit, come!To Jesus through Mary! Here I am, Lord; I come to do your will. Please give us the grace to respond with joy!+ Mikel Amigot w/ María Blanca | RosaryNetwork.com, New York• August 28, 2025, Today's Rosary on YouTube | Daily broadcast at 7:30 pm ET

Ultimately wanting to be or disappointed that we are not important. The antidote for pride:Humility-It comes from a dependence on Jesus and a belief that this life is all about Him-It allows us to produce the fruit of Christ because we have the mind of Christ-Others see God in us and they see God because of our obedienceStillness with God and time in God's WordLove and serve othersBroadcast ResourceDownload Free MP3Message NotesGet Out Of Your Head BookAdditional MentionsJennie Allen's Free Book Club KitConnect888-333-6003WebsiteChip Ingram AppInstagramFacebookTwitterPartner With UsDonate Online888-333-6003About Jennie Allen: Jennie Allen is the founder and visionary behind IF: Gathering and she is the author of several books and study guides, including Restless, Anything, and Nothing to Prove.
