Born and raised in Plantation Florida where he was a four-sport athlete at South Plantation, playing lacrosse, basketball, football and track. Patrick then went to play at Coker university where he was Honorable mention All sac team in 2016. We took a few months off and a lot has changed since. Season two is here and we are excited for it. No special guest on this episode, just an update on life, lacrosse and much more. Mike Diggs AKA Diggstape played his lacrosse at Saint Vincent College, where he was named a captain his senior year. Mike exploded in the lacrosse world through his creative videos where he would commentate over highlights or bloopers. He then realized how valuable his content became and now is one of the most famous guys in the sport. We talked about social injustice and the backlash that comes with speaking up as well as his everyday life that is not onscreen. Mike gave us nothing but himself and we appreciated every second of it. This was a fun podcast and you immediately see how contagious Mikes vibes are. We were lucky enough to have one of the world’s best lacrosse players join our show. Kylie Ohlmiller who was born and raised in Long Island, NY. She played her college lacrosse at Stony Brook where she was a 4x All-American, a 2x Tewaaraton Finalist, a 2x America East Conference Offensive Player of the Year, and the NCAA Record Holder for both Single-Season and Career Points and Assists. She is now a member of the Women’s professional lacrosse league. While her accomplishments are eye popping, how she got to where she is, is even more interesting. She is a grinder who wants to elevate and impact the game in every way she can. Not recruited by the schools she dreamed of gave her a chip on her shoulder. Her college coach told her from the start of her career, “you have the ability to be special” and she’s now considered a goat. We spoke about scheduling, goals, regrets and more. This was an unbelievable podcast and the game of lacrosse is truly in good hands!
Chazz Woodson Played his lacrosse at Brown University where he was a 2x Ivy League selection. He was then drafted by the lizards in 2005 MLL draft, 19th overall. Chazz then had a great 10 year run where he became one of lacrosse most exciting player to watch. He now is the Head Coach at Hampton University, where they are lacrosse only division one HBCU. We hit on a lot of things during his show a few of them being his journey, racism, recruiting at an HBCU and plenty more. Hampton has the man with the plan. Could not have gotten a better fit! Randy Staats: Six Nations Ontario, Canada. He attended Onondaga community college before transferring to the power house Syracuse university. While at Onondaga, he was Two-time NJCAA Offensive Player of the Year and first-team All-American … He Led the NJCAA in scoring with 139 points in 2012. He then followed that up in 2014 at Syracuse with the Tewaaraton Award nominee as national player of the year as a junior. His senior year he ended his career as an All-American and was then drafted by the Rochester Rattlers in 2015. He was also Drafted in the First Round (6th overall) in the 2015 NLL draft he was then 2016 rookie of the year in the NLL.. Safe to say, he is a decorated player who had an amazing career. Pat young started his lacrosse career at UMBC where he was 2013 Rookie of the year. He was also American East conference first team 2013 and 2014. Pat then decided to transfer to Maryland where he was a major contributor to a powerhouse team. Pat was then drafted 13th overall in the 2016 MLL draft by the charlotte hounds. Pat now is a member of the PLL Atlas. Pat has had a rocky professional journey recently seeing himself sidelined the past two years. It is unfortunate and the lacrosse world and fans had questions. Pat gave us his story, as well as the obstacles he had to climb when dealing with professional lacrosse. Pat also told us how fatherhood is going as he and his wife just gave birth to their daughter. Pat also makes music and we were lucky enough to hear a great 45 seconds freestyle at the end. This was an emotional, informative and honest episode. We hope you get those vibes as well.
We were lucky enough to have pro lacrosse player Isaiah Davis Allen on this week’s show. Isaiah Played his college lacrosse at Maryland. Where he was 2x First Team USILA All-American (2017, 2016) 2x Team Captain (2017, 2016) and 2017 Senior CLASS Award Recipient. IDA was then 16th overall pick in the second round of the 2017 MLL Collegiate Draft, he was named 2020 Man of the year by Major League Lacrosse. This podcast was full of humor, We were able to talk about his athletic career as well as his off the field contributions to his community. Bryce attended Monmouth University where he became the first Monmouth player drafted in the MLL by the Denver Outlaws in 2018, he was first team all- conference in college. Bryce now plays for the Boston Cannons where he won the 2020 MLL championship and was named 2020 MVP. Bryce was doubted his whole life, but he never gave up. He kept driving himself to be the best he could be. We were able to talk about his journey as well as his level of commitment which propelled him to where he is today. Bryce is only getting started and has a lot in store for his future, we look forward to seeing what the 2020 MVP can do.
We spoke to NFL Defensive end for the Cincinnati Bengals Carl Lawson in todays episode. Carl was a 5-star recruit as well as a top 5 player in the class of 2013. Carl attended Auburn University where he was Freshman All-American, 2016 All-American, 2016 All SEC and 2x team captain. Carl was then drafted Round: 4 / pick: 116 by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2017 draft. He has earned all-Rookie and has battled injuries since joining the league. Carl is having a terrific season and we were excited to share his stories. The perseverance, mental strength and commitment levels are unmatched. He gives advice to the younger athletes and hopes he can leave his mark. He has an inspiring story that we can learn from through all aspects of life, “never give up” I hope you all enjoy.
We had the opportunity to interview Brianne Reed. Brianne is a professional soccer player who attended Rutgers University where she was an All American, 2x first team All-Big 10, Senior Class award winner, drafted 18th overall Kansas-city and now plays in Denmark. We were able to talk about the racial climate we are in as well as gender inequalities that exist in sports. She was honest, passionate and hopeful for a better future. We also spoke about her exhausting journey and how she got to where she is. This is a show you won’t want to miss.
