Dr. JT Anderson is a force to be reckoned with in Chiropractic and in life!  Doc JT has been in chiropractic practice for 30 years in the Mile High State.  He has been the official chiropractor for the Denver Broncos, Colorado Crush, and Denver Outlaws and is passionate about chiro practice. JT started lifting weights at age 13 and began to compete as a weightlifter in the Junior Olympics at age 15.  The challenge was that his joints began to break down, resulting in severe lower back pain.  He started chiropractic care as a result and has received care ever since. He  shifted gears to become more flexible and pursue a healthy way of training his body   Bodybuilding was a good fit, and he began to compete in various bodybuilding contests at age 16. At the University of Northern Colorado, he studied human anatomy and chemistry and became a certified personal trainer. As his clientele began to grow, he had to find new exercise concepts to enhance their performance. He started to work with massage therapists and chiropractors, focusing on injuries and postural changes. He completed his Chiropractic Doctorate at Parker Chiropractic College in Dallas, Texas, where he learned the true value of Chiropractic Health Care as a vehicle to impact overall health.  He began to view the body as a "whole unit" with the nervous system being the master system and the spinal bones protecting the exiting nerves.  Enough pressure on the nerves can create a host of issues including pain, muscle weakness and organ dysfunction.  Removing the interference will allow the body to naturally heal on its own, the way GOD intended. JT is the author of two awesome books, No Bones About It – A Memoir of a Chiropractor and Outside the Fence -  A Father's Journey from Coach to Fan.  You can order both books at http://jtanderson.biz. On this podcast you'll hear JT discuss: His book No Bones About It - The Memoir of a Chiropractor The Art, Philosophy, and Science of Chiropractic The physical, mental, and nutritional benefits of Chiropractic Why your brain is so important relative to your health Where Chiropractic is headed in the next 10 years And MUCH more! Good afternoon lacrosse fans! It was great to see live lacrosse on TV this weekend and I hope you had a chance to watch some of the MLL games. If you did, you likely saw Denver Outlaws defender and Utah native Garrett Michaeli on the field in the two Denver wins. I had a chance to talk to Michaeli last week for the podcast. You can subscribe to the podcast on Apple Podcasts and Spotify or listen above. Michaeli was a star defenseman at Alta and Corner Canyon before heading to play lacrosse at Rutgers. We talk about his high school, college and now pro lacrosse experiences. Michaeli is just the second Utahn to play lacrosse at the pro level. Hope you enjoy the podcast! MLL Results & NotesMichaeli and the Outlaws are 2-0 and sit at the top of the standings with the Chesapeake Bayhawks. Boston is 1-0 while Connecticut, New York and Philadelphia are winless. Philadelphia plays Connecticut today (right around when this newsletter gets published) and Boston faces Chesapeake at 5:00 p.m. MT. There are games all week so be sure to check the schedule here. Former Utah attackman Colin Burke had a hat-trick in his pro debut. Two goals from Sunday made the Top 10 on SportsCenter. For those who didn't watch or who don't keep up on the league, the teams are on different sidelines so substitutions are done on opposite sides of the field. It creates some interesting opportunities for transition but there were a handful of times players were confused including this play (which was also a Top 10 play):Needless to say, I don't think opposite side benches will be a think post-COVID. PLL Updates & NotesThe Premier Lacrosse League players arrived in Utah yesterday and will have a short training camp followed up the opening game on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. on NBC. The game will feature the Redwoods and Whipsnakes. The game will be followed by Choas and Chrome squaring off at 5:30 p.m. on NBCSN. You can get full coverage of the Championship Series by signing up for the PLL Pass for just $19.99. If you sign up with the code PLL169NBC you'll get 10% off! Utah Lax Report Bracket ChallengeI'm happy to announce the Utah Lax Report Bracket Challenge. Fill out a bracket by clicking here. The league tweeted that the Redwoods and Archers are the favorites to win it all via the brackets. I'll be offering a prize of some sort for the winner. Not sure what it is yet, but it will be related to lacrosse in Utah! If you're a goalie or coach goalies or know a goalie, send them this article: It's a great read about ‘The Last Line of Defense' on a team. Fun fact: I coached at Cottonwood in the Spring of 2007. The team was a great group and our goalie was (and still is) a stud. Due to low numbers, he started a game with a broken thumb. During the game he broke the other thumb. He wouldn't come out of the game and I've admired him for that ever since. That's it for this week! Please stay safe and watch some lacrosse this week! — Tim Haslam This is a public episode. Good afternoon lax fans and thank you for spending some time reading the Utah Lax Report. I'm really excited about this podcast with Mason Goodhand. Goodhand has been part of the Utah lacrosse scene from the beginning and there are some great tidbits in this episode for any level of lacrosse fan. Please give it a listen! Just a reminder, you can subscribe to the podcast on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. As a spoiler, Goodhand mentions that he was part of the Vail shootout when it was in Aspen. Inside Lacrosse & ESPN analyst Quint Kessenich wrote about the Vail lacrosse shootout ‘When Vail Was King'. It's a great read and provides a little insight into the tournament and lacrosse in the West. Goodhand was one of the first to create a ‘club/travel' team called Team Utah and the only tournament they would go to was the Vail shootout. Goodhand also mentions when Westminster beat BYU in 2015. It was the first in-state loss that BYU had ever had. You can read the recap here. I was there and it was a great game. One of my favorite lacrosse pictures I've ever taken came from that game as well. BYU attackman Mike Fabrizio loved to creep around the crease from X in this shot he did so but Westminster was up the task with Trent Herbert and Dalton Tuor defending the play. Fairman Family Lacrosse CampEditors Note: This is from an email from the Fairman brothers. Please support this camp if you are able! - With so many tournaments and camps being canceled in Utah and around the country this summer due to the COVID-19 virus, we are excited to announce that the 2nd Annual “Fairman Family Lacrosse Camp” will take place on July 13-17 with the help of Corner Canyon Lacrosse. After consulting US Lacrosse, IMLax and the High School league we feel confident that we can run this camp in full accordance with state and local health department guidelines. This year's camp will build upon the amazing groundwork we established in 2019 as we have decided to do a more intensive 1-week camp where we build upon the new skills we learn and perfect each day. It's time to give back to the next generation of Utah lacrosse athletes the only way we know how and help them achieve the next level in their path and continue to grow the game. He also happens to be my brother. He's won a state football championship, set an American record in powerlifting, won multiple national weightlifting championships, placed 2nd in an international weightlifting competition and qualified for Olympic trials leading up to the 2004 summer games in Athens, Greece. In his 20's, he risked being fired from his job to follow his passion.Professionally, he achieved his ultimate goal when he became the strength and conditioning coach for a professional team, the Denver Outlaws for 6 seasons.Over those 6 seasons, Eric was able to put the fittest and healthiest professional lacrosse players on the field every season and helped to not only put an undefeated regular season in the record books but also run off a string of 20 consecutive regular-season wins. After being asked countless times about training, nutrition, and supplements, he's decided to take a leap of faith and create a platform to share my knowledge and experience. He has an authentic passion for fitness, performance, and training. That's the foundation for Specimen Training, the company he founded. What we discussed: How he found his passionThe single most motivating event in his competition lifeThe rare eye disease that shattered his Olympic Games dreams and threatened his lifeWhat drives his mindset after major setbacksMaking tough decisions to leave the familiar to pursue his dreamWhat it takes to be 47 and still competing professionallyThe power of routines and habitsHis new business, Specimen TrainingWhat he wants his legacy to be Episode webpage: https://www.themindshiftpodcast.com/8Are you subscribed to this inspirational podcast yet?
