This is a podcast you'll be able to kick back and listen to anytime you want to feel inspired/happy/or amazed. On this podcast we celebrate the fact that there is not just one way to live. We will inspire you with stories from real people about the ways that they are choosing to write their life story, which will either just entertain you -- or inspire you to add to or edit your own life story. There are truly so many Ways 2 live, and man... that's something to celebrate.
Today on the podcast I'm interviewing the owner & creator of The Modern Cloth, Kina! The Modern Cloth is a company that makes machine washable coloring cloths that your kids (or you) can color on without the fear of paper cuts-- and you can WASH it and re color all over again! They have sooo many of the CUTEST designs... I seriously want one for myself lol. I talk to Kina about how she got the idea for the business, what has lead to her business's success, and how she created the whole thing from scratch. She is literally one of the nicest human beings I've ever met-- I'm so grateful that I got to interview her on the show!!
Creating a community & a support system can feel so tricky, especially now a days. Most young adults find themselves in a new place with new faces, and sometimes it can feel hard to create a new community that feels like family. Today I brought on my AMAZING Aunt Brittany, who has moved over 17 times; lived over 5 years in England, in Canada and many states across the US. I've always admired her because she is amazing at cultivating friendships and a "family feel" community wherever she goes. My hope with this episode is that you leave feeling inspired and hopeful with new ideas for how to create community and friendships that are so meaningful... actually, I know you will! If you like this episode, please let me a rate and review. Share it with a friend! It means so much and helps me make this show more sustainable. Thank you!!
This episode was inspired by a re occurring thought I keep having. "Would the person you want to be, do that?" I'd do something, and then realize that the person I want to be would have done it differently. Josh and I break that down, and we discuss specific changes that we are making in our lives inspired by the person we want to become. I think this is an uplifting, personal development type episode, that I hope you'll love :)
This week on the podcast I Interview the amazing Jade from Comfort Cove. If you haven't heard of this amazing comfy clothing business I'm so excited to introduce you to the creator herself, and the comfiest/cutest clothes online. We get super real in this episode, and Jade tells specific details about what it's like starting a business as a super young mom with two kids, and what specific steps she took to start her business. We talk about using influencers, financial road blocks, and just the nitty gritty of what it takes to pull this off. Jade is AMAZING and I'm so excited to share her story with you.
This week on the podcast I get to share with you Kelsi & Caleb Fullmer!! I really don't think they need much of an introduction, but if you're not following them on instagram, you are missssing out! Basically, they are the best comedic relief couple on social media. They will give you the best ideas to spruce up your family gatherings, or even just ways to have fun with your husband on a slow wednesday night. We talk about their growth on instagram and how that happened organically, behind the scenes of how they create/plan content and finally we get into their family culture and discuss their tips for creating memories as a family that will be cherished forever! So excited for you to listen! If you like it go hit that subscribe button & rate/review, baby!! Thank you!!
This is an amazing story Brooke shares with us about her journey to opening her Parlor, Perf Scherf Parlor, with her husband David. We talk everything from opening a business in Rexburg and what her steps to success have been to overcoming mindset blocks and how she got through those. I think my favorite part of the conversation was the reoccurring theme that seemed to keep popping up which is that it's never to late to do what your hear has been telling you.
This week on the podcast I'm talking to someone I have followed for a LONG time, Tianna Ovard! I look up to Tianna because she has such a depth of understanding about our bodies, she shares my same beliefs about being able to eat the foods you want to eat and learning how to create a long-term healthy lifestyle, AND she's an amazing entrepreneur as a macro coach and writer of her own COOK BOOK! How amazing is that. We talk about all those things and 3 tips for developing a healthy lifestyle (especially as a new mom). If you guys want access her cookbook, she told me to have you DM her on her Instagram and she will sell you a digital copy. Her paper copies are out of stock! Thank you so much for being here!!
I asked you guys to tell me about the things that surprised you about having a baby! Things you felt like someone surely should've told you about?? I didn't tell any of the stories people told about their pregnancy scares or scary birthing experiences... I don't think that's something new parents want to hear about haha, and I don't think they need to because it's different for everyone. These stories are just of things that are really common and unexpected. As always, if you like the show please rate, review and subscribe! Thank you!!
Josh and Vanessa get on this week to tell you about how IMPERFECT they are at communicating with eachother but also how dedicated they are to getting better. We can laugh about the times that we weren't ideal, and we've learned some really life changing tips along the way that will transform any type of relationship you're currently in. Hope you love it!
This week on the podcast Josh and I are talking all things pop culture, but mostly, we are talking about the tea spilled by Megan & Harry. We talk about Harry obviously relating the situation to his mother, and our opinions about Princess Diana, we talk about our experience actually going to Megan and Harry's wedding, and we speculate about why we think the royal family has a bias against Megan. At the end of the episode Josh and I talk about GenZ trying to cancel Eminem, how we feel about Kim and Kanye's divorce and a few other topics. This is just a fun convo that I think will keep you entertained as you go about life. Hope you love it! Don't forget to subscribe, rate and review!!
You guys submitted your worst kiss stories a while back, and I told you I'd for sure bring them on a podcast. I also asked for stories about "the most romantic thing anyone had ever done for you." I decided to combine the two in this episode just for fun. Thank you so much for being a part of my crew here. I love you guys. Hope you laugh and gush over this episode!! Don't for get to subscribe, rate and review!!
This week I interview Megan Barrus about how and what she's learned since starting her own social media agency. We also bust the myths about the viral post that says "saves>likes".
My guest TODAY, Lori Allred, is the mother of TWO of my previous guests. (Savanna Gallacher and Easton Allred) I've followed her family for years and watched them ALL go after their passions with so much drive and intentionality, it's made me wish I could learn the mindset behind the parenting! One day Lori posted on her story that she and her husband had just had one of their “quarterly planning sessions” and that they were ready to make big changes and go after their dreams… I loved the idea that even after having 5 kids and established careers, they are still planning their life and going after their dreams. I decided this topic had to carry a lot of weight and asked her to come on the podcast to tell us about HOW and WHY she plans quarterly and what kind of benefits it's had for her and her family. We also dive into how they help their kids find their passions and support them in those. For me, this interview was a dream come true. I learned so much — And I've been sooo excited to share it with you!
You guys!!! I am so happy and so proud to have Cody from Mixhers on the show. (Linking some of their other podcasts below) I have struggled with unbalanced hormones and birth control issues for… years. I share my experience a bit in this episode and brought on a professional to help answer my “scientific-y” questions asking “why” it happens and ways we can fix it. Cody is a holistic hormone health specialist with a background in Chinese Medicine. She's created this AMAZING nutritional supplement that helps supports your hormones whether your feeling crazy during that time of the month or maybe just all the time bc of your birth control. She also bursts my bubble by shedding light on what a “healthy” period should actually look like, and some side effects from birth control that you could be struggling with. I love the perspective that we don't have to just suffer through the crazy and the pain. There are solutions and that's the best part about living when we live. I would say this has been my most anticipated episode. I asked you guys to send me your worst first date stories, and MAN did you deliver!! Quick shout out to everyone who took the time to make the episode come to life. I definitely couldn't have done this without you. So, we are reading the worst dates you have been on on this episode. These stories were so good they left josh and I wheezing and crying laughing. I promise you're going to want to listen to the whole thing, there are some real gems in there. Subtle plug and gentle remind to subscribe, rate & review :))))) THANK YOU!!
Lexi is the owner of Indiecords.co and also happens to be a friend of mine. I've watched her small business grow from the very beginning. She is a powerhouse in the handcrafted clay earring space, which is a tremendous achievement as the market seems to get more saturated everyday. She tells us a bit about her story, how she was able to replace her job as a dental hygienist with her creative passion and shares inspiration that will hopefully motivate you to do what your heart wants. This is also just a really great story of another hard working entrepreneur— my favorite kind of story! Hope you love it. Please don't forget to subscribe, rate and review. It means the world to me. We like to do random bachelor updates here and there on the podcast, but I never feel like we are able to talk about it as much as I want to. Soooo --today I'm giving you some of my favorite random facts and frequently asked questions about The Bachelor! (Why they don't finish their food, perks for being on the show, who gets paid, random things that aren't allowed, etc.) I don't know if I'm the only person like this... but when I'm enthralled with something, I like to talk about it with anyone who will listen and I like to know as many random facts as possible. It just... makes me happy, haha. After watching bachelor or bachelorette episodes I love listening to conversations about the show and any takes or tea I can get.
Such a fun "girl talk" episode for you this week. My beautiful friend and I are talking our favorite and least favorite fashion trends from 2020. We're telling you what we think should stay and what we hope will go. Blown out hair, small glasses, tie die, bell bottoms, oversized everything, dewy make up, sweat sets, Hailey Bieber, and so much more... regardless of Covid, 2020 has brought out some of the best (and maybe worst?) fashion. DISCLAIMER: This episode is PURELY our opinions, and I hope you know that if you disagree with ANYTHING we say, THAT'S SOOO OKAY! If you still like something we say we didn't like, PLEASE still wear it. We both believe that anyone can pull off anything if it's true to who they are and what they like. Everyone is talking about goals right now. And honestly, I've hesitated to even put that word in my title. But I think it's important to express something that I've really internalized recently, which is, you cannot set/achieve goals that will make you actually feel fulfilled unless you make sure you have the right mindset f i r s t. This January I'm really focusing on that, and I can't believe how my goals have shifted. I am feeling so much more empowered. A month ago I started investing in myself by getting a life coach. He has coached me through my mindset and how to get that right and THEN set goals. I'm excited to share with you what I have learned. THANKS TO OUR SPONSOR Zelm Labs! Josh and Vanessa ask each other questions they had not previously shown to each other.
Guys! This holiday season I've wondered what type of content you've wanted to hear. I've heard friends and family talk about covid and politics and how it's even formed wedges into families and friend groups -- I've heard people talk about dreading difficult topics to come up around the table at dinner. Difficult family convo happens every year, year round, but I think it's especially prevalent this year. SO I DECIDED TO HELP YA'LL OUT. I brought Ty Brown on the podcast to give us some tips. Ty Brown is a LEGIT specialist in conflict. He is the host of a podcast called, "The Ty Brown Show" that's all about CONFLICT MASTERY. He has his doctorate in law and his masters in dispute resolution. This guy eats and breaths conflict and how to prevent/diffuse it. I'm hopeful this episode gives you a little bit of peace for conversations to come over the holidays. Ty for sure put me more at ease. I promise you, 99% of the time it's way worse in your head. Remember we are all human beings and just trying to figure life out.
This week on the podcast Josh and I are entertaining you while also helping you Christmas shop :) I asked you all on my instagram what you want for Christmas. I also go over some of my most favorite amazon finds... most of them are budget friendly. Sharing the links below! Hope you love it so much!! If so, please subscribe and leave us a review!! This is a great casual/fun conversation you'll be able to enjoy this fine tuesday morning. Josh and I let you know our thoughts on the bachelorette, we give you a little life update, and then we talk to you about whether or not we are too traumatized by 2020 to set goals for 2021?? We talk about goals that went down the drain for last year, how to plan for the future when it seems so unsure, what things we have learned from 2020...etc. Hope you love it! As always, please rate and review and that will be the BEST thing you can do to help me & the podcast out. Thank you! Vanessa
This episode is for those of you who have been needing some motivation, or better yet, a reason to keep working at what you're up to. Whether you are a business owner, a stay at home mom, a single college student trying to find your person, or someone who just feels like covid is really screwing up your life... this episode is for you. This interview caught me at a time when I was feeling especially low -- but since talking to preston about this particular topic, I feel new energy and excitement to reframe my mindset and achieve new goals. Preston Pugmire is a phenomenal Life Coach. I know some of his clients and I am absolutely blown away with what they accomplish. I first got familiar with his work by listening to his podcast, "Next Level Life" (you should definitely go listen) and absolutely love his positively, his understanding and his belief in what we as human beings can accomplish when we don't buy into the lies our minds can tell us sometimes. If you like this episode, please rate and review!
Something I haven't talked much about on the podcast, but am very passionate about, is nutrition. I've struggled in the past with food and knowing what to eat. I struggled for years with a terrible digestive system. I would have terrible bloating every day multiple times throughout the day. I learned that in order to get better, I needed to heal my digestive system by listening to my body and learning what foods made me feel good and what food made me feel bad. Fast forward a couple years and I feel like I can finally listen to what makes my body feels good and I do a pretty good job of being able to balance eating the food I want to a long with the food that fuel my body the way it should be.
In this episode Josh & I tell you some of our most shocking life stories! Getting to touch Justin Bieber, seeing an ex on one of our missions, and finding out how famous magicians really do there tricks... and more! Can't wait for you guys to enjoy this episode! I would love to read your schooling life stories for the next episode-- if you have some you want to submit it will remain anonymous. Send them to ways2livepodcast@gmail.com or dm my Instagram @wayst2livepodcast
When I first started my podcast I would think, “I want to interview Corine about how she creates this space for her kids where the world seems just magical…” If you follow Corine, you know what I'm talking about. I asked her some of my deepest questions about motherhood, and her answers are still ringing in my ears and making my heart flutter. She told me she sees motherhood the same way entrepreneurs see their businesses. She's passionate about it, and her descriptions of parenting will leave you wanting to read poetry and spend time under the stars with your kids. You'll just remember that life is wonderful, and hard, and that it has so many lessons for us that come packaged in so many ways. Just listen guys.
Something I'm really passionate about is making the most of situations, and right now, we are headed straight into holiday season. I know you're stressed, I know you've got a lot to do... but the truth is...2020 has taken a lot from us and we won't let it take the holidays. SO. You need some motivation, you need to be prepared to MAKE this first holiday the best! It's not gonna happen on it's own. In this podcast we give you some spooky and fun ideas for the best halloween season :) we also give you a little covid update (we had covid) and have just some fun convo for you to enjoy. If you like this podcast or any of my episode please rate and review!!! love you!
Sissy, co-founder of Thrifthood, shares her unlikely story of starting one of the more successful thrifting businesses Utah has ever seen. Sissy was recruited by her college guy friends to revamp their closets on a budget. She was recruited by men all over the county until finally she styled her soon to be co-founder of thrift hood, Albee. The two had so much fun playing with style they decided to sell some of their finds online, and everything sold out, every time. Turns out it wasn't a fluke. They learned they had a gift. The people wanted more. They continued to up their game, and Thrifthood was born.
Provo's own, Abigail Keenan, living her dream as she worked as a photographer for the #1 basketball franchise in the world, The LA Lakers. We discuss her journey to get there, what it was like shooting celebs like Kim & Kanye court side, and what it was like working for the Lakers when Kobe died. I've wanted to interview my dad for a while because he is one of the most well-rounded people I've ever known. He tells the stories I loved hearing about growing up: like how he was raised in a concert orange box, hated school work -- but transformed into an engineering genius and top of his college class, started multiple businesses, gives amazing advice for employees who want to impress their boss, and at the end I couldn't resist but talk about politics with him because he is such a political wiz. It's a great episode and I hope you guys enjoy getting to know someone so special to me!
It's important to think about your parenting style before you become a parent... what do you want to do? what do you not want to do? Let's be honest, the things you decide now might change as time goes on, but Josh and I decided to dive into some of the most controversial parenting style topics. We talk about everything from breastfeeding, to cellphones, to spanking... really, we cover it all. Hope you have a good time listening, let us know how you agree or differ! We are here for it all!
Some of my very favorite podcast episodes are just listening to girl talk. I actually think you can learn a ton from it, and it's also super nice to hear it especially when you don't get a ton of it. Miranda is one of my absolutely favorite people to talk to. She is one of those people you can just talk to for hours and hours and still not run out of things to say. I love her because she is one of the most humble people I know, and she balances that so well with confidence. She is super down to earth, while also knowing all the latest trends and beauty tricks. I love her sososos much and I'm so excited to get to introduce you to her. I definitely don't think this will be the last episode with miranda!
I think it's safe to say we have endured many negative curve balls thrown at us over the last few months. Every month has seemed to have it's new thing that has thrown our world for a loop. If you're like me, it's put you in a funk. Doing the research to be able to talk about this subject has reminded me that being negative and having negative thoughts is the natural way our brain works. It's easy for us to have a fear based mindset. In order for us to stay positive, we have to put in EFFORT to stop the cycle. This episode will tell you why our brains work that way, and give you tips for training your brain to be more positive. Love you all so much. Vanessa.
This week on the podcast Vanessa and her husband Josh answer questions you submitted on Instagram. They talk about what they wish they would've known before they got married, how they knew they were ready to have a baby, what song they would sing at a karaoke, how they cope with hard things... etc. In this episode you'll get to hear more about how Josh and Vanessa communicate and interact as a couple. Hope it brings you some happiness this week :)
Ellison Owens is a dream interview. If you don't follow Elli on Instagram, let me tell you about how cool she is. She knew from a young age that she wanted to work for herself, and shortly after getting married she started To & Fro bags, a packing cube business. Elli tells us how she got the idea for the business, how she started it, and her love of entrepreneurship. She also tells us the BEST tips for thrifting. If you don't know, she is a thrift QUEEN and even has an account where she sells some of her favorite thrifting finds. Last but definitely not least, we talk about her journey with infertility. Elli shares her heartfelt experience, and gives advice for those who are going through the same thing, and to those comforting someone who is. It's an epic episode, let me know how you like it!!
Chloe started her business to help women find more cost effective options for the clothes they loved! Her followers would send her expensive clothes they wanted to find for a better price and Chloee would find it for them. Now she has a full blown business that shares the BEST dupes and deals on clothes. I absolutely adore her-- you'll be blown away by her story and work ethic.
You CANNOT skip this episode. Easton Allred is not your average high school teen. At 14 Easton started a podcast that had one 100k listeners that starred olympic guests & famous athletes like Jimmer Fredette. The next year at 15 he wrote a book called, "Fueled: Tips, Tricks and Tools Every Teen Needs to know to Become Succesful" that is sold on amazon and has influenced thousands. Easton is a true leader and lives what he teaches. He has become one of the fast Country runners in the nation, signed to run with BYU this fall and is a talented YouTuber. Easton has also experienced tricky obstacles like anxiety, injury, moving hi school and his last Country season cancelled to Covid. He shares how none of what he does is important without the relationships he has, and "the way he makes others feel." He is one of the most wise quests I have had on the show, and his answers blew me away. I honestly can't wait for you to listen, you'll be uplifted and learn so much from his experiences and knowledge.
Today on the podcast Vanessa talks to Brooke Eliason of @femalefoodie. Brooke is the friend you ask when you need to know where to eat, in fact, she's built an entire business around that skill. Listen to all the behind the scenes. How and why she did it, how she's had to pivot during Covid 19 craziness, her advice for people who want to start businesses on social media... and my favorite part, we talk about FOOD! She's the best ever. You'll love this episode.
This week on the podcast we are talking to -- Jenn Blosil! Jenn is an amazing singer/musician. She quickly captured hearts in the Provo music scene roughly around the same time as Imagine Dragons & Neon Trees. She even climbed her way to top 14 on American Idol. She's had many a producer reach out to her because of her unique sound and incredible talent. We talk about how she got started, and what the Provo music scene is like. We discuss how hard it's been to find a producer who is willing to make music the way Jenn wants to. They have tried to tell her to sing differently, show more skin & make music that will "sell." Jenn talks about how she hasn't compromised, and how she finally, recently, found producers who made music the way she wanted to. We need your help to get her album funded-- once you listen to her story, if you feel inclined to donate, that would be amazing for this girl who has worked so hard for years-- fighting for her dreams,. I love her endlessly, and I'm so grateful I got to interview her. I know you'll love it! Kickstarter Link in my Instagram bio @waystolivepodcast
Today on the podcast, Vanessa interviews Britney Anderson, the woman behind the Instagram account @slcmoms. Britney created the account 5 years ago as just a side hobby. If you have ever wondered HOW parents are getting outside with their kids so often, but you WANT to, this episode is for you. I follow her on Instagram and I noticed that she was outside on walks or hikes with her son pretty much every day. She talks to us about her own experience as a new mom and getting outside, and how she is completing a 1000 hours outside challenge this year. She is so real and realistic about it all... it made me feel like I could do it, too. This episode will blow your minds as we listen to a local legend here in Provo/Orem, Utah. Brady Aste started a underground freestyle rap league while he was going to school at UVU as a marketing major. He felt like he wasn't getting enough out of his classes so he decided to experiment and try his hand at event planning and marketing an event he would want to go to. One event turned into another, and the people kept wanting more. He called it Daf House Media, and what used to be small gatherings of 15 people turned into events of almost 1000. He is now an aspiring talent manager just looking for his next star. He also tells us about how it is rough going from one phase of life to another, and gives us validation for when we struggle with our own mental health. Listen to how he does it, on this episode. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app
