This is a Lizzie McGuire enthusiast podcast. Each week hosts Chelsea and Ryan Gregson recap an episode of the television series Lizzie McGuire, and along the way share stories from their own adolescent years that relate (or not relate) to the characters on the show.
Wow! That was quite the break we took.. hehe. But now we're back and feeling good! On this episode we take the time to explain what has been going on, and we answer a few questions from some friends. So happy to be here again! (As I'm typing this my 2 year old is trying to press the keys and random buttons on my laptop.. so I'm just going to go ahead and finish this description)
Hi friends. This episode we give a bit of a life update and explain why episodes will be coming out less frequently. Hoping it doesn't stay like this for too long, but thank you for being a part of this and supporting us either way. Also in this ep we share very random middle school stories, and then completely unrelated, we talk about trips we've taken together. Coop is waking up from his nap now and I also can't think of what else to write. Happy June!
Wow we're here! Yaaay! This episode is an interesting one. Gordo gets himself sucked into the world of D&D, except it's not D&D it's like Dwarf Lord or something. During the episode we talk about a song I've been really into these days, how tired Ryan is, and my family's favorite dice game called Bolo. Please forgive me for the delay in getting this out. I've been having a hard time balancing full time work and full time mom life with a 2 year old these days.
Welp. Here we are with one of the first really problematic episodes. There have been problematic moments and things said in previous episodes, but this might be the first time I have thought just the whole entire episode is sketch. There are still some great moments and things that I love in it, so I hope this description isn't too discouraging. Mostly the take away is that Lizzie feels pressured to "do the right thing" by going on a date with Larry Tudgeman even though she absolutely does not like him, and everyone thinks she is super nice and cool for doing so. But there is some great music in this ep!
Hello friends! This episode is very special to me because it's all about Cooper being born! Our boy turns 2 the day after this is published and I thought it would be fun to dedicate this to him. I personally love reading and hearing birth stories, so I hope this is cool for some of you out there. Thank you for tuning in to this very personal story.
Hi! I'm not really knowing what to say that's funny or clever.... So I'll just keep it simple. This episode is about Lizzie, Miranda and Gordo competing in their school's Factathalon, and their usual substitute teacher Mr. Digg is their faculty advisor there to help and guide them with studying. As usual Ry and I talk a lot about ourselves lol. Also talk about Cooper. You know how it goes.
Ayyy! You know, sometimes we publish episodes one, maybe even two, days late. We like to keep people on their toes. Not really, but sometimes your girl lets life get the best of her. Anyway, here we are with a new episode! It's actually one of my favorite Lizzie eps and I'm not 100% why especially re-watching it this week lol. But yeah I just love it. Lizzie decides to become a model for Teen Attitude and the world is forever changed by this decision. Or at the very least, her whole school is changed by it for like a week. What does she decide to do with her new found fame? LiStEn AnD fInD oUt.
Is this episode all about the hit 90's band Puddle of Mudd? Or is it about when a director named Stan Jansen comes to Lizzie's middle school to film a documentary and decides Gordo is his lead? We may never know.
Ello! Saying that in a British accent in my head because I'm watching GBBO while writing this. And we all know GBBO and Lizzie McGuire go hand in hand. So! This week the hubs and I recap the episode where Lizzie has plans to go bowling with friends which includes Ethan Craft (hell yeah), but her dad asks her to get dinner with him for some quality time, and she accidentally double books are herself. Oops. Hate when I do that. Ryan gets the "life is a highway" song stuck in my head a couple of times listening back to this ep, let me know if it happens to you too.
Hi friends! This week we talk about the episode where Gordo becomes Ethan's math tutor, and Lizzie and Miranda want to get in on the action. Gordo gets upset at the girls because they essentially "use him" to get close to Ethan, but along the way, we find out that Lizzie is actually the more proper tutor for Ethan. Listening to this episode you can tell why Ryan is my voice of reason and why he wins all debates (almost) lol. Basically we were trying to decide if Gordo was in the wrong, or if the ladies were, and the answer is.... well you'll have to listen to find out. Gotta get an audience somehow amirite?
Hello! Our first episode of 2021! Feels strange to be publishing this during these scary times.. In our defense we did record this pre-horrible/disgusting white supremacists breaking into the Capitol. Even with the very dark things happening all around us, we like the idea of doing something that can take our minds (and hopefully yours) off stressful and scary thoughts that can be going through our heads, and just enjoy something sort of mindless and silly. With that being said, please, if you can, enjoy this episode where we talk about Gordo's first girlfriend and how Lizzie and Miranda handle this news! Happy New Year!
Happy Holidays!! Here is our Christmas episode released on Christmas day because we're legit like that. This will be our last episode published in 2020. Thank you for starting this podcast journey with us this year, despite the many horrible things that have happened, this has been a fun and lighthearted outlet that my soul needed. So, thank you. Merry Christmas and happy new year, friends.
Hello! My sister is back on another episode with me, and I'm stoked! This week her and I talk about Lizzie, Miranda and Gordo wanting to see the most important movie that’s out (Vesuvius: The Eruption starring Ben Affleck), even though it’s rated R, and how they’ll do anything to see it. Do they succeed in their ventures to get into the theater?
So not gonna lie, I feel like this is a weird episode of ours lol. But I decided to post it anyways because I want this podcast to be honest and real, and sometimes you have bad days/weeks. As far as the actual Lizzie ep, this one is about Matt and Lizzie having to deal with their hate for one another during what is a very important event for Lizzie. Thank you for tuning in :)
Oof! That's all I can really say about this episode. Both the show and our podcast ep lol. And I want to say that I'm sorry for the month delay in publishing a new episode. You can hear all about why we went rogue off our schedule as we classically talk for too long about it in the beginning of this recording. Oh and I guess I should say this Lizzie ep is about Lizzie becoming "obsessed" with saving the earth, and everyone else being worried about her for it (I just rolled my eyes as I typed that, which should give you a clue about how I feel about that).
OoOoo sooOo spoOookyyy! Yay it's our Lizzie Halloween episode! We decided to go a little out of order here in the series so that we could talk about the only Lizzie Halloween episode there is. It's also great, because it's a lot about Dia de los Muertos, which I think is pretty awesome. What's going to happen when Kate disses Miranda's dead ancestors one too many times? What is Gordo's costume exactly? What are some of our childhood Halloween memories? Listen and find out lol.
This week we talk about the day Matt accidentally ends up at Lizzie's school where he's a freaking turd all day long, and sabotages any hopes she might have had of pursuing her all-time crush, Ethan Craft. Along the way we also talk about how it's weird to eat a banana with the entire peel off, mean things our siblings have done to us when we were kids, and a time Ryan farted and crop dusted pretty girls at school...
This week we are changing it up a bit and taking a little break from talking about our girl, Lizzie. Instead we decided to do a Q&A episode, and naturally, it went very long. Thank you to our friends who submitted questions! It was nice getting to sit and chat with each other answering these. Let us know how you feel about us changing it up sometimes! whatdreamsaremadeofpodcast@gmail.com
Hi friends! This week we talk about the hot goss with Miranda doing a terrible job acting in the school play, and Lizzie writing a review about it. Was Lizzie in the wrong for putting Miranda on blast? Was Miranda being too sensitive? Is Gordo actually kinda pervy...? We don't really answer any of these questions, but it's sure fun to think about! We also talk about our anniversary, how bad Ryan is at capturing pictures of me and our child, the movie Grease, and having hard conversations with people who need some truth. Last thing, we will now be publishing episodes every other week to keep my sanity since I am back at work full time. I am bummed to do this, but think it's the right thing to do for now :)
Hello! This is a fun episode where we take a trip to the past, and have Gordo as our guide! He helps us understand Rat Pack life and culture, and why it’s lame when people try to jock the weird things we’re into and act like it’s their own. Lots of lessons to be learned in this episode, and we’re here for it!
Heyyy! It's Friday and we know what that means... It's time for a new podcast episode about the one and only, Lizzie McGuire! And this episode is special because my sister came to visit and recorded this with me, yay! This week we talk about what I think is a very well known episode of Lizzie, where Lizzie meets a rebel named Angel Lieberman and becomes a little rebel herself for a week. Not gonna lie, Lizzie's look this whole episode is fire in my opinion. Coral and I didn't have a lot to relate to with this one, but it's still loved by me. Lizzie is my girl whether she's "good" or "bad".
This week we talk about an interesting Lizzie episode, where the students in Lizzie's social studies class have to get partnered up for a project where they pretend they are married... We don't remember anything like this ever happening in our life, and honestly think it's a pretty strange assignment to give 13 year old teens. Kind of on accident we end up talking about lots of personal things in our marriage which is cool I guess lol. Thanks for listening :)
The big 1 - 0. It's here. We finally made it. And what episode did number 10 land on for us? Election! It's time for a new Class President to be voted in, and among the candidates in the running are not only Claire and Tudgeman, but also a reluctant Lizzie McGuire. Does Lizzie stand a chance against one of the most popular girls in school? Can she compete with a guy who is swallowing worms for votes? Listen to us take a really long time to talk about it all and find out!
Hello! We have another wonderful episode of Lizzie to recap this week! In short, it's the one where she babysits her little brother for the first time, with the help of Miranda and Gordo, of course. She throws a lot of mini tantrums in this episode, and I have to say that I love it. After recapping, Ryan and I share several babysitting stories; I share times that I was babysitting, and he shares stories from when he was babysat. Enjoy!
Hey! We've missed you! We missed last week because moving officially got to me, but now we're back. And this is a very special episode because Gabbie is back, and we're talking about the Lizzie episode all about Aaron Carter! In this episode Lizzie, Miranda, Gordo, and Matt make it their mission to meet Aaron Carter at his video shoot. Gabbie and I talk about our own experiences of trying to meet famous people we were (and maybe still are) obsessed with... Well mostly Gabbie. It's a lot of fun, so I hope you enjoy :)
This week we talk about how it's strange that teachers and parents try to do mind tricks on us growing up, and how we'll never know if it was effective. We also address the importance of a good teacher, and the role they play in children's futures. Please enjoy!
On this week's episode we talk about Lizzie discovering her natural talent for rhythmic gymnastics and how she feels about it. We also point out problematic things that she says in this episode that should not have been said, and problematic things that have happened in previous episodes that we should have pointed out in the first place. We're learning! Thank you for sticking with us if you have!
Here we are again with another banger of an episode in the Lizzie series! This episode is all about Lizzie going camping with her classmates, and an unexpected/unwanted guest. We will be following along her nightmare of an experience and reliving some of our own school camping trips, and times when our parents went out to bat for us. Hope this takes you back to some sweet (or maybe not-so-sweet) memories from a time like this as well. :)
The episode you've all been asking for is finally here! (That's a joke, no one even knows this podcast exists yet.) But YAY! My beautiful, wonderful, hilarious best friend, Gabbie, made her debut on my podcast and I am STOKED! And this Lizzie McGuire episode is just so good. It's when Lizzie and Miranda go shopping for their first bras, hell yeah. If you want to hear Gabbie and I reminisce about our friendship, and talk of our childhood days of hairy legs and braces, then please listen and enjoy!
This Lizzie episode might be the most classic of all the Lizzie episodes. It's picture day at school and Lizzie will do whatever it takes to make sure it's her best picture yet. We've all been there, amirite? Now this week's podcast episode might be on the boring side, I have to admit, which is totally my (Chelsea's) fault. I'm learning that describing the episode TOO accurately is potentially sabotage for our podcast lol. I'm sorry if it's a slow one, but thank you for sticking around if you have this far! They'll get better, I promise!
This week's episode is so classic. The episode of Lizzie, I mean. I guess this episode of our podcast could become a classic too.. But probably not. So this week we talk about school sports, cheerleaders being villains (in the show... maybe in real life too?), and once again, Ryan talking about Danny Kessler being a pervert.
Our first official Lizzie McGuire episode recap! We talk about what is clearly the pilot episode of the show when Lizzie and Miranda are invited to Danny Kessler's pool party! If you want to hear Ryan go on and on about how people acting out on FOMO are the worst, or Chelsea talk about her hot crush in middle school, than this one is for you.
Hi! This is our beta episode where we were seeing how we felt about doing a podcast together lol. Basically this is your classic "get to know us" episode. And after this we decided it was super fun and we will keep it going. Hope you have fun too!
