E, neste ano, há dois talentos luso-brasileiros ajudando a dar cara nova ao peixe: o carioca Eduardo Ferrão e Letícia Amaral de Araújo, natural de Belo Horizonte. Eles são dois dos cinco vencedores da 16ª edição do “Concurso Sardinhas” de Lisboa, que neste ano recebeu 3.128 desenhos, enviados por 1.762 autores de 66 países. O resultado surpreendeu Letícia e Eduardo. “Quando chegou o e-mail [com o resultado], eu até tive que conferir algumas vezes. Eu não sabia se era golpe ou coisa do tipo, né? Para ver se era sério mesmo. E eu fiquei super satisfeito, porque é um concurso que acho muito bonito”, conta o designer gráfico. A notícia, que chegou por meio de uma ligação telefônica, foi recebida por Letícia com surpresa e felicidade. Ela também explica que, por retratar na sardinha uma cena tipicamente portuguesa, havia o receio de cometer algum equívoco. No entanto, a aprovação do júri português afastou qualquer dúvida. “Achei que [o resultado] validou a minha ideia”, afirma a designer. O concurso foi criado em 2011 pela EGEAC, empresa pública que promove ações culturais em Lisboa. O objetivo dos organizadores é estimular a participação e a criação artística, desafiando amadores e profissionais das artes a criar novas roupagens para a sardinha. As propostas vencedoras são utilizadas como imagem da campanha visual das tradicionais festas dos santos populares, equivalentes às festas juninas no Brasil. 'Bolo de arroz' Para participar da competição, Eduardo Ferrão se inspirou no projeto “O Último Bolo de Arroz de Lisboa”, lançado por uma associação de moradores que busca proteger, valorizar e dar visibilidade a cafés e pastelarias que fazem parte da história dos bairros. Chamou a atenção do designer gráfico a notícia de que muitos desses estabelecimentos tradicionais estão fechando as portas devido ao aumento do preço dos aluguéis e das matérias-primas, além de estarem sendo substituídos por comércios voltados a turistas e moradores estrangeiros com alto poder aquisitivo. Quando leu sobre o assunto, ele não teve dúvidas. “Foi como uma revelação, sabe? E aí a ideia estava ali”, relembra. A “Bolo de Arroz”, assinada pelo luso-brasileiro, molda o famoso doce português no formato de sardinha. A ilustração destaca a textura fofa da massa, a icônica crosta de açúcar no topo e a base envolta na clássica cinta de papel vegetal. “Fico realmente esperando que [a minha ilustração] abra o apetite das pessoas, sabe? Assim que passarem por uma pastelaria, peçam um bolo de arroz”, pede o carioca, que espera que sua criação também possa ajudar a manter o bolo de arroz e sua receita tradicional nas pastelarias portuguesas. “O Telefone das Coscusvilheiras” Na sardinha, a que deu o nome de "O Telefone das Coscuvilheiras”, Letícia Amaral de Araújo recorreu ao bom humor ao fazer uma leitura de uma cena cotidiana: a coscuvilhice de quem fica à janela ou na sacada dos apartamentos a fofocar e até a monitorar a vida alheia. “Este exagero visual não busca realismo, mas sim evidenciar um comportamento social reconhecível: o prazer na conversa e na construção coletiva de histórias”, destaca a EGEAC na descrição oficial do projeto. A ilustração da mineira destaca duas varandas tradicionais com uma senhora em cada lado a estender roupa na espinha dorsal da sardinha, que ganha nova vida como um varal e um "telefone de lata” ao mesmo tempo. Uma cena que resgata os conhecidos telefones de copinho ou de barbante das brincadeiras infantis. “E essas duas senhoras estão a se comunicar por meio de um telefone de lata, que eu fiz essa analogia com o varal”, explica Letícia. Sardinhas de Lisboa Além das sardinhas “Bolo de Arroz” e “O Telefone das Coscuvilheiras”, também conquistaram o júri da competição as ilustrações portuguesas “Sardinha Guitarrista” e “Patrimônio Fragmentado” e a “Tomatazo”, do Uruguai. O autor de cada uma delas ganhou um prêmio em dinheiro no valor de 1.500 euros (quase R$ 9 mil na cotação atual). A maior recompensa para os vencedores, contudo, é ter as sardinhas exibidas nos ônibus e no metrô da capital, nos painéis publicitários e nas decorações dos arraiais. Eduardo Ferrão, que vive na cidade do Rio de Janeiro, pensa até em ir a Lisboa para não perder a festa. “Eu ainda estou considerando isso, se pego semana que vem um voo. Enfim, vamos ver. É um evento muito relevante para a cidade, e eu gostaria muito de fazer parte desse momento”, confessa. Letícia, que mora há seis anos em Lisboa, já teve a chance de ver o resultado de seu trabalho e testemunhar a reação das pessoas. “Foi muito interessante. Eu fiquei mais como espectadora, vendo as pessoas com a sardinha na mão, conversando nesse contexto popular das festas, e senti uma sensação de orgulho”, disse. Ícone pop O Concurso Sardinha celebra um dos mais populares símbolos da identidade do país. Alimento básico das comunidades pesqueiras e de quem vivia e trabalhava no campo, a sardinha se tornou uma das marcas da capital portuguesa, uma espécie de ícone pop, estampada em roupas, acessórios e peças de decoração. E é no pico do verão deste lado do atlântico, que ela chega ao ponto para ser consumida. O preparo é nas grelhas ao ar livre às portas das casas e tascas. Eduardo Ferrão, que vive na cidade do Rio de Janeiro, pensa até em ir a Lisboa para não perder a festa. “Eu ainda estou considerando isso, se pego semana que vem um voo. Enfim, vamos ver. É um evento muito relevante para a cidade, e eu gostaria muito de fazer parte desse momento”, confessa. O município de São Ludgero está em clima de celebração pelos seus 64 anos de emancipação político-administrativa. A Administração Municipal preparou uma programação especial que reúne esporte, cultura, lazer, saúde, integração comunitária e desenvolvimento econômico, com atividades iniciadas na segunda-feira, 2 de junho, e que seguem até o dia 14. Viera je odpoveď. Po prečítaní tohto textu som si spomenul na jedného človeka, ktorý sa raz, keď šiel z kostola domov, bil do hrude a dookola opakoval: Tá naša viera, tá naša viera! Ako môžem dnes byť svedkom, že Boh je dôveryhodný — čím môžem povzbudiť iných v ich viere, keď vidia, že ty aj v utrpení neprestávaš veriť a dúfať? Aplikácia do života: V tomto týždni si vyhraďte 5 minút ráno na to, aby ste si zapísali jednu skúsenosť, keď Boh vo vás alebo vo vašom okolí konal (uzdravenie, pomoc, slovo, otvorené dvere). Potom si prečítajte jeden verš z Hebrejom 11 a odpovedzte v modlitbe: „Pán Ježiš, ďakujem Ti za Tvoje konanie. Pomôž mi odpovedať vierou aj v dnešných výzvach.“ Na konci týždňa si zhrňte, ako sa mení vaše vnímanie viery — že to nie je abstraktný pojem, ale reálna dôvera v Božiu vernosť. „Ježiš im však riekol: Nikde nie je prorok bezo cti, iba ak vo svojej otčine medzi pokrvnými a vo svojom dome.“ Evanjelium podľa Marka 6:4 Predstav si, že si nevlastný brat Ježiša. Nikdy by si mu nemohol nič vyčítať. Zamysli sa nad tým. Komu by Mária a Jozef uverili – tebe alebo jedinému bezhriešnemu človeku, aký kedy žil? Predstav si, že sa snažíš súťažiť o pozornosť svojich rodičov s dlho očakávaným Mesiášom, Synom Božím, Spasiteľom tvojho národa. Taký bol osud Jakuba, autora knihy Novej  zmluvy, ktorá nesie jeho meno. Je pozoruhodné, že ani Jakub, ani žiadny z ostatných Ježišových nevlastných bratov neverili v Ježiša pred Jeho zmŕtvychvstaním. V skutočnosti v jednom momente prišla Ježišova rodina, aby Ho vzala domov, pričom sa domnievala, že prišiel o rozum. Evanjelium podľa Jána 7:5 jasne hovorí: „Lebo ani len Jeho bratia neverili v Neho.“ Napriek tomu Jakub začína svoj list tým, že sa predstavuje ako „služobník Boha a Pána Ježiša Krista“ (Jk 1:1). Nepredstavuje sa ako „Jakub, brat Pána“ ani ako „Jakub, nevlastný brat Ježiša“. Namiesto toho píše: „Jakub, služobník Boha a Pána Ježiša Krista.“ Napriek tomu sa zdá ťažké uveriť, že Jakub spoznal pravdu o Ježišovi až tak neskoro v živote. Veď Ježiš žil bezchybný život. Nikdy neklamal, nekradol ani nestrácal trpezlivosť. Nikdy ani vnútorne nezhrešil. A predsa, ako povedal sám Ježiš: „Nikde nie je prorok bezo cti, iba ak vo svojej otčine medzi pokrvnými a vo svojom dome.“ To len dokazuje, že ani dokonalý život nemusí stačiť na to, aby sme niekoho presvedčili o pravde o Ježišovi. A pre veriacich, ktorí sa snažia túto pravdu šíriť, je to ešte ťažšie, pretože všetci sme občas zlyhali v tom, aby sme žili tak, ako by sme mali. Pre mnohých kresťanov je najťažšie osloviť práve tých, ktorí sú nám najbližší, najmä v našich vlastných rodinách. Mnohí z nás vyrastali v nekresťanských rodinách. Vieme, aké ťažké a nepriateľské prostredie to môže byť. Bolo potrebné vzkriesenie Ježiša Krista z mŕtvych, aby sa konečne podarilo jeho bratov osloviť. Vtedy všetci uverili. Bolo potrebné pôsobenie sily evanjelia. Osloviť rodinu posolstvom evanjelia je stále výzvou. Ale je to výzva, ktorej sa musíme postaviť. Otázky, ktoré kladie apoštol Pavol v Liste Rímskym 10:14 – 15, stále platia. „Ale ako budú vzývať Toho, v koho neuverili? A ako uveria v Toho, koho nepočuli? A ako počujú bez kazateľa? A ako budú kázať, ak nie sú poslaní? Ako je napísané: Aké vzácne sú kroky tých, čo ako evanjelium zvestujú pokoj a dobré veci!“. Otázka na zamyslenie: Ako môžeš pomôcť ľuďom, ktorí sú ti najbližší, pochopiť dobrú zvesť o Kristovi? Greg Laurie

On sa však zjavil teraz na konci vekov, raz a navždy, aby obetovaním seba zničil hriech. 27 A ako každý človek umiera len raz a potom bude súd, 28 tak aj Kristus bol len raz obetovaný, aby vzal na seba hriechy mnohých, a druhý raz sa zjaví nie pre hriech, ale na spásu tým, čo ho očakávajú. Nová zmluva a spasenie. Z textu smieme pre seba vyčítať dve pravdy: 1. Pán Ježiš nám Svojou smrťou priniesol Novú zmluvu. Je zaujímavé, že hoci List Židom/Hebrejom je písaný niekoľko desaťročí po Golgote, stále nazýva túto zmluvu „novou“. Akoby tým naznačoval, že ju Boh chce uzatvárať osobne s každým z nás stále znova a znova. U každého z nás začať s čistým štítom a vždy túto zmluvu obnovovať, aby nezostarla, nezapadla prachom, ale bola skutočne vždy nová a aktuálna. Nová zmluva je pre nás „nová“ do tej miery, do akej sa my sami nechávame Pánom Ježišom obnovovať a premieňať naše životy. 2. Spasenie máme očakávať. Pán Ježiš bol raz obetovaný za naše hriechy a na konci vekov sa zjaví, aby túto zmluvu zavŕšil. Našou úlohou je očakávať to. To znamená, že podľa tejto zmluvy máme žiť a napĺňať ju svojimi životmi. Očakávanie totiž v biblickej reči nie je len pasívne čakanie, ako zvykneme čakať na vlak, či autobus. Očakávanie tu znamená kráčať v ústrety, hľadať, byť aktívny, konať skutky Toho, Koho očakávame. Prijal si Novú zmluvu do svojho srdca? Ak áno, aktívnym očakávaním viery napomáhaj jej realizácii! Modlitba: Bože, ďakujem Ti za Novú zmluvu, v ktorej dostávame tak veľa! Odpusť, že ja Ti dávam príliš málo! Zober si ma v celku a konaj cezo mňa, čo sa Ti páči, lebo si dobrý a múdry! Amen. WAR IN MIDDLE EAST CONTINUES AS STRIKES REPORTED AT EMIRATI NUCLEAR FACILITY. U.S. STRIKES ISIS LEADERSHIP IN NIGERIA. FUEL CRISIS RESULTS IN SHARP INCREASE IN SHIPPING PRICES WORLDWIDE.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE-----  -International Events-Middle East: The situation remains as before, with most of the focus remaining on the restriction of travel through the Strait of Hormuz. As of this morning, all diplomatic efforts between the United States and Iran have failed to open the Strait, and traffic remains stagnant through the waterway. A handful of tankers have transited out of the Strait via the Iranian route, but Project Freedom has not resulted in any western-aligned merchants transiting the Strait since the initial skirmishes on it's first day.Around the region, limited targeting efforts continue to take place. Yesterday, the UAE reported drone strikes at the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant in Al Dhafra. Three drones were detected and two were shot down, but one drone successfully stuck the compound. None of the reactors at the facility were breached, and no release of radiological material was reported.Nigeria: Hostilities have increased sharply over the past few days, with the United States conducting several airstrikes targeting ISIS facilities. President Trump himself announced the completion of a raid targeting Abu-Bilal al-Minuki, a senior commander within the Islamic State West African Province (ISWAP) insurgent group.Analyst Comment: Prior to a few days ago, the United States was only supporting Nigeria with intelligence and surveillance assets, and not openly engaging in the war themselves, at least as far as the public is concerned. The weekend raid on an ISIS stronghold is a major escalation of US involvement in the war, even though the mission may have initially been to capture al-Minuki.A good bit of reading between the lines is needed (along with a bit of speculation) to interpret what happened, as this announcement is different than other targeting efforts throughout the continent. The wording of all official reports implies that this was a ground operation to capture the leadership who had congregated together inside a compound. At some point, this ground operation transitioned to airstrikes taking out the target, with the High-Value Targets (HVTs) being killed during the strike. Speculating a bit, it's possible that when the ground force experienced significant resistance and everyone scattered from the meeting site on motorcycles, the US bombed the building and got al-Minuki by happenstance. This is a tale as old as time in the targeting world (especially in Africa), and aligns with the previous strikes within Sokoto, which targeted senior ISIS leadership in the same area back in December.Italy: Over the weekend a vehicle ramming attack was reported in Modena, as a terrorist rammed his vehicle into a crowd of people on Via Emilia Centro, a historic street in the center of town. A total of 10x people were wounded during the attack, with 4x victims remaining hospitalized in critical condition. The assailant has been identified as Salim El Koudri, and local authorities have not commented on motive.-HomeFront-Texas: Over the weekend a shooting spree was reported in Austin, as three suspects conducted approximately 12x small arms attacks around the city. The incident began Saturday with the theft of firearms from a local store, and also the theft of a vehicle from an apartment complex in north Austin. From there, the suspects conducted a joyride around the city, shooting at random citizens. One of the first targets was Fire Station 26 on Wentworth Drive, along with Fire Station 32 near Rollingwood. Throughout the city, over 20x different shooting calls were reported, with over 12x different shooting victims resulting from the shooting spree.At some point during the series of attacks from Saturday afternoon until Sunday morning, police made the connection that all of these attacks were related and involved the same suspects. A BOLO notice was put out by Austin PD, which was picked up by Manor Police Department, with one patrol officer visually observing the vehicle as the BOLO was put out on the radio. This immediately turned into a pursuit, with the suspects eventually crashing in a muddy field on state road 973, near a residential area in Manor. After the pursuit ended, the occupants of the vehicle scattered, and a large shelter-in-place order was issued while the manhunt was conducted to find the suspects. Two of the suspected shooters were captured immediately, a 17 year old and a 15 year old, both of which have long criminal records. A third suspect remained at large until nightfall, when he was discovered and arrested.California: This afternoon, an active shooter incident was reported at the Islamic Center of San Diego.Analyst Comment: No word yet on casualties or any other details yet as this is a developing situation. However, a media helicopter captured a video of a very clearly deceased individual located at the front entrance to the facility, so at least one person (possibly the shooter) was killed during the attack.-----END TEARLINE-----Analyst Comments: Around the world, fuel prices remain a growing concern. Over the past few days, sharp increases in the price of freight has been observed as the cost of diesel makes it more expensive to move cargo within the homeland. At the national level, the LMI Transportation index indicates that freight costs are the highest in recent memory, with the latest numbers for April being released and confirming what we already know...moving cargo is now extremely expensive.At the more operational level, this sharp increase in shipping costs can be seen with the price of moving a standard Twenty-Foot Equivalent Unit (TEU) shipping container. Before the war began, this container (on average) cost $980 to ship from China, to the Middle East (via the Red Sea route, not through the Strait of Hormuz). Right now, this same container costs about $4,131 to ship along the same route. During the COVID era, the maximum price observed was about $3,900 so as it stands, the oil shock has already impacted shipping costs more than COVID did. These costs are being observed right now within the United States both in terms of goods rising in price, but also availability.Throughout the Middle East, lots of talk continues and there isn't really any indicator for when this crisis might end. This afternoon, President Trump stated that the large-scale bombing of Iran was scheduled to continue tomorrow, but he has decided to hold off on the resumption of the war while a negotiated settlement is allegedly imminent. At the moment, it's not clear as to if this is just diplomatic posturing, or a genuine diplomatic effort. This exact situation was also alleged during the halt to Project Freedom, which stopped after one day due to a settlement that never came. Dejinám československej emigrácii sa dnes už venujú viacerí historici a je predmetom odborného spracovania. Ľudský rozmer tejto kapitoly našich dejín sa však rozhodla zmapovať publicistka Soňa Gyarfašová vo svojom dokumentačnom cykle Po stopách pamäti: Príbehy z opačného konca sveta. Mnohí z týchto emigrantov totiž ešte žijú a môžu nám porozprávať svoj vlastný príbeh. Cesta za týmto rozprávaním zaviedla dnešnú hostku podcastu Dejiny práve do krajiny našich protinožcov. Ako sama hovorí, splnila si tým svoj cestovateľský sen, ale i svoju dokumentačnú ambíciu. So Soňou Gyarfašovou sa preto rozprávame o tejto jej ceste, ale predovšetkým o ceste a životnom osude ľudí, ktorí ani v ďalekej Austrálii nezabudli na svoju vlasť.
