SHUT UP! OK SHUT UP! Do you know how long it takes to research and write and record one of these episodes? I just got a new job. I'm busy, i got my own stuff going on.So instead of that, today we are going to spend some time with Ethan Craft another dude I met on Tiktok and we're gonna talk about License Plates, which he collects. Now I know you are thinking, Andrew aren't license plates just a piece of unnoticed ephemera that reveal a shockingly rich culture of changing material design that also reflects our national transition to an hyper-individualistic society? And the answer is yes, but some of them have bird on them.Actually I'm really in to this kind of stuff, its actually the exact kind of thing that inspired this podcast. Most of us object to the Great Man of History TM ideas, but the reaction to this has been to assume a kind of photo negative inverse of it. We no longer celebrate how George Washington built this county, we morn how he was the worst. The reality is that the Great Men of History rarely shape your daily life as much as you'd think. It's also the tiny little decisions of material culture. License plates are a perfect example of that. Why are there so many diffrent kinds of license plates? Why are they made in jail? What is the rarest license plate? Where can I get a license plate?

Marisa and Sam discuss Lizzie McGuire Episode 221: Lizzie's 11, which first aired January 1, 2003. Sam informs Marisa that this episode is, in fact, an Ocean's 11 parody, so turns out he can actually contribute something to this podcast. Ethan Craft makes a return after several episodes away, and Sam and Marisa wonder why Ethan will inexplicably just disappear for several episodes and then come back as if nothing is wrong. Plus, Miranda-watch has begun. Will she make an appearance in this episode after her absence in the previous one?
Caylen Belcourt, the girl behind Instagram's @nostalgicepisodes and @nostalgiclizzie--and our new friend--joins us for an in-depth discussion of all things Lizzie McGuire! Jill thanks TV shows for being born, we share our fav episodes from the series, and all of us decide to marry Mr. Dig. What is it about Larry Tudgeman's black polo??? Ello! Saying that in a British accent in my head because I'm watching GBBO while writing this. And we all know GBBO and Lizzie McGuire go hand in hand. So! This week the hubs and I recap the episode where Lizzie has plans to go bowling with friends which includes Ethan Craft (hell yeah), but her dad asks her to get dinner with him for some quality time, and she accidentally double books are herself. Oops. Hate when I do that. Ryan gets the "life is a highway" song stuck in my head a couple of times listening back to this ep, let me know if it happens to you too.
Marisa and Sam discuss Lizzie McGuire Episode 213: You're a Good Man, Lizzie McGuire, which first aired July 26, 2002. Why is Gordo matching a brown blazer with black pants, and why doesn't Ethan Craft know how to tie a tie? Someone teach these kids some fashion sense! Plus, Marisa basically gives Christian Copelin, the actor who plays Lanny, an open invite to join us on the podcast any time he wants.
Marisa and Sam discuss Lizzie McGuire Episode 208: Just Friends, which first aired June 14, 2002. Marisa has a lightbulb moment when she realizes she's seen child actor Noah Jupe in multiple films, and Sam has a similar lightbulb moment when he realizes that Ethan Craft more likely than not was a Fyre Festival attendee. Plus, Marisa shares the key quality of a "himbo," and it's actually more endearing than you'd think.
Fashion show! Fashion show! Fashion show at a random mall for teens! In today’s episode, we talk with special guest Aubrey Swander all about Lizzie’s modeling gig. Lizzie strikes it big as a runway model and surprisingly, doesn’t let it get to her head! Her new fame has Ethan Craft quivering and Kate Sanders showeringContinue reading "Lizzie McFire S1E23: Last Year’s Model"
Would you eat french fries at a bowling alley? Maaaybe in 2002, but now — not so much. During this episode we talk about Lizzie’s dilemma of hanging out with dear old dad or knocking pins with Ethan Craft. The challenges! The drama! It’s all here.
Ethan Craft. Sigh. The Dreamboat of our middle school years. But what’s underneath those golden locks? Well, according to Gordo, not much. On today’s episode we talk all about tutoring Ethan. Spoiler: Lizzie crushes it. Natalie also reveals how smart she is and Mikaela makes a shocking confession about her Math failures. (Not really shocking,Continue reading "Lizzie McFire S1E20: Educating Ethan"
This week we talk about the day Matt accidentally ends up at Lizzie's school where he's a freaking turd all day long, and sabotages any hopes she might have had of pursuing her all-time crush, Ethan Craft. Along the way we also talk about how it's weird to eat a banana with the entire peel off, mean things our siblings have done to us when we were kids, and a time Ryan farted and crop dusted pretty girls at school...
Geena and Taylor acknowledge that these episodes are pretty enjoyable (for the most part) and we still don’t understand why people like Ethan Craft.
It's L to izzie, Mc to the Guire! Yes, an episode dedicated to our favorite tween everywoman and her voluminous collection of hair accessories. We're still in the middle of a pandemic and an election year and the west coast is still engulfed with flames, but this episode will transport you to a simpler time where Frankie Muniz was relevant and your biggest worry was whether you should match your scented nail polish or sparkly jelly bracelets to your wedge flip flops. This episode might not be able to answer all of your pressing Lizzie questions like what conditioner does Ethan Craft use, but it will definitely dive into the history of the show, the movie and whether or not the reboot will happen! The only worse than being an outfit repeater is not leaving a five star review on iTunes. sources used: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_programs_broadcast_by_Disney_Channel https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lizzie_McGuire https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Lizzie_McGuire_Movie https://www.latimes.com/archives/la-xpm-2003-may-24-fi-dizliz24-story.html https://www.glamour.com/story/hilary-duff-just-gave-update-on-the-lizzie-mcguire-reboot

Did you ever picture yourself as the husband/wife of Ethan Craft? Perhaps you were Team Gordo or Lizzie herself! On today’s episode we talk all about the fake marriages of Lizzie and her classmates. Are they little shits? YES. Is it entertaining AF? YES.
Marisa and Sam discuss Lizzie McGuire Season 1, Episode 2: Picture Day, which first aired January 19, 2001. Sam is obsessed with Gammy McGuire, but doesn't understand why Ethan Craft swooped in and replaced Danny Kessler. Plus, a thorough Picture Day outfit analysis.

We talk about babysitting snacks, strategies, and times we thought someone was breaking in. We also get a little fiesty about whether or not Lillian likes dogs and how to pronounce "Keurig."
