Young Boss you are busy, you fail, you get tired, people tell you; you can’t do it…As a Young Boss we can be very ambitious and we will experience a lot of stress, failure, anxiety and more. I do not shy away from my personal experiences I let you guys know a lot that goes on in my life and film myself because it is all part of the grand journey.Staying positive while building your empire is one of the most important priorities. Being able to do all your work but allowing yourself to sleep, rest, eat and even have fun.I tent to get stress acne and I am so happy I allow myself to take some time at night and in the morning to have a nice skincare routine while using my trusted Estala skin care products (estalaskincare.com) that are so healthy and do that extra work for me no matter what plans stress has for me.In order to stay positive, you have to learn about self-love. We make it easy to judge ourselves and we forget our inner self love, not the bubble baths and Netflix time or procrastination… But allowing to love your inner self and being happy with who you are as a whole and where you are at in your journey even if you are not at the finish line. As an entrepreneur is hard to live a normal life. Facing self-doubt can really be a challenge when you are trying to achieve a positive mindset. Whether you are employed, you are building your business, you are in school, you’re going up the ladder and other people are telling you can’t, you have faced failure, you are going through self-doubt and giving up thoughts you are not alone. Some things that I do to stay positive as a Young CEO and College student with a Job is:1. I wake up early and play a motivational speech.2. I write down what I am grateful for as well as I journal about being grateful for what I don’t have yet as if it has happened.3. I collect energy crystals and keep them near my workspace and sleep space.4. I tell myself that “I am a boss” and no one can stop me.5. I remove negative people whether this is getting a lower dose of them slowly or fully cutting people out.6. I avoid “what ifs” statements and act like I know what is coming next (even if it’ not exactly my desired outcome).7. Try to find the humor in the situation and laugh about it. This won’t allow the negative thoughts to come in your brain and ground you with your feelings.8. Stick to your SMART goals and be grateful when you achieve them one by one.9. See others as a motivation to succeed.10. When you fall, get up and move on. And with that I will tell you what my mom always says “patra ni pa’ cojer impulso” which basically means don’t step back not even to push or collect momentum! I used to take brand deals of free products in exchange for free marketing…Young Boss, maybe you don’t have 1 Million Instagram followers or 100k, but maybe you are one of the most influential people in your town!I used to post photos on Instagram just for fun… I have transition from that to getting free products to having a month booked worth of brand deals in posts and stories. So how I turned into making money on social media was a funny story… Because I was not looking at it as a business and I was just having fun! It is never about a popularity contest, if you focus on making money and growing your numbers as your main priority, you’re going to FAIL!You have to enjoy what you are doing first, post genuine content and most of all have a good engagement! Yes yes! I understand if you got 100k followers and 1k likes is not the same amount of revenue as 20k followers and 1k likes… The Industry is shifting, brands are starting to notice is not about the number of people that follow you but more about the amount of those people that stays true to you and supports you and buys because of you!I have noticed these minor changes with great brands like Forever 21 with the New York City event in which every influencer there that I know of had less than 20k followers… Once again they all had great engagement! When I began to “make money” or get free things! I began to like it and want more of it, I started to broad my surroundings and wanted to grow my numbers and be the A list influencer… But at these events these people would be extremely happy on a story post and just sit on a corner on their phone but never network!I had to learn the difference between the hype and what I was genuinely passionate about… I thought posting bikini photos was fun but when I started to truly get real and posting micro blog captions actually was helping people. This is when I built a real niche, I always get DMs from girls who have gone through similar experiences and that’s what keeps me going. I had to sit down and consult the universe to switch out everything and give away a change and when I did that is when I began to build trust. I enjoyed writing so much that it lead me to doing my podcast itself and writing blogs with it too because I know there are different types of people, some love to multitask and listen and there are others who like to sit down and read a blog. In order to get brand deals, after building your personal brand and niche, you need to be real, be a human, ask for their budget, don’t be afraid to define where you shine and put a number on it!When you send out an email to reach out to a brand only write a couple sentences about yourself, the brand does not care about how the collaboration is going to help you, they want to see a turnout on the money they are spending on you based off how it will help them! If your intention is to sit at home on your phone and take a pic in your backyard is different than actually making a connection with somebody. I’d say as my takeaway is to make an email draft. When you do so there are many steps to take in order to land the brand deals:1. Introduce yourself (name, handle, followers, blog, YouTube and any other platform).2. Tell them your REAL analytics and engagement.3. Explain why you are different than the 1,000 emails they received today (e.g. mine is usually my curly hair).4. Give them options of what you can do the help them gain sales (stories, videos, IGTV, blog).5. Tell them an average of your price and ask for their budget. ( they understand you have rent to pay!)6. Say thank you and tell them you will be reaching out again in a week!Once you have this down and break through that wall the main thing is communication. Don’t be that person sitting on their phone in a corner of a networking event! My free gift to you is my freebie social media checklist to get this plan started for you!Feel free to join our free Young Boss chat! If you know me, you are probably tired of hearing this… but I always tell people “maximize your content” use all of it! Falling between busy lifestyles, trends, social media algorithms flipping around, and overload of crazy information trust me. MOST of your audience is missing what you’re posting! If you already listened to my podcast “4 simple ways to overpower the Instagram algorithm” you know that only about 10% of your followers are truly seeing your content and receiving all the information you’re passing forward. Meaning that about 90% have not. Let’s not forget, if our audience is growing, we want everyone to see what we are posting and working hard on! When it comes to creating content, you don’t need to feel like you need to have the newest of the newest or can’t reuse something. We overwhelm ourselves a little too much! Trust me, I’ve been there too.I used to focus on quantity over quality. I used to make sure I posted certain days because I thought if I didn’t my audience was going to leave. But its not like that. None of you left when things changed! We spend most of our time creating content and only about 5% of that time actually promoting it. So… why not change this and flip it around? Here are 6 ways to recycle, reuse, and reinvent your content on social media:1. Check to see if you have shared your content throughout all your platforms. I know audience is different on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, even snapchat. Make sure you adapt that content for each platform differently. And this content is brand new for them!2. Spend less time creating the content and more time planning how you’re going to share it 3. Make sure the content you are creating is relevant for at least six months after the post date. 4. When choosing what to reshare, check out your analytics and see what’s doing well.5. If you have a website, create freebies that way you can increase your email list subscribers and have potential clients.6. Lastly, when you’re out creating content. Don’t just create one location, one outfit, one placement. Create many angles, create videos, create changes that way when you use the same “shoot” later on it differs from the first. I remember those days of creating content all day and forgetting to eat. After scrolling through 500 photos only one would make it to the account and the content will die out 24 hours after. Little did I know my audience was missing out on all the important information because I was allocating my time in the wrong places. I now create micro blogs on my Instagram in which help people educate themselves as well as helpful stories and highlights to refresh people’s memory.
Wait...did someone say “algorithm?” An algorithm is a set of rules or a process that controls how something works. Many users do not realize what’s been happening beneath the surface...but some refer to it as “THE INSTAGRAM ALGORITHM.” A lot of people hate it and some love it, but those who love it are most likely already famous and trending. How do you know if it affects you? Well, maybe you’ve noticed that you’ve been missing a large percentage of engagement or even missing certain photos on your timeline? If so, the myth is real, and it does affect you!Instagram has become a place of discovery for numerous individuals, as users have created niches in which they have been able to see just how popular they are through overall engagement. Others see the platform as a way to de-stress, but most importantly express themselves however they see "There’s the celebrities, the travelers, the “hype-beasts,” the influencers, the foodies, the animal lovers and many more that I could write about...but regardless of the niche, the algorithm has sparked a lot of anger and frustration with most of these users.Unfortunately with the new algorithm, there is not a skip button you can press to get the old Instagram platform back. Now more than ever, there’s no way to predict a shift, or know when to expect one regardless of the actions being taken on your profile. Some users notice the variations throughout the day with di!erent posts, timelines, and activities. With the new algorithm, there’s a statistical difference between personal profiles and business accounts and now creators as well. Business account users are confused by the low amount of publicity their posts now receive, the delayed growth over time, as well as other additional challenges. We only know that the changes have yet to happen based on Instagram plans to recently change the look on profiles … once again!! AND all the myth about Instagram hiding likes and influencers being able to tag products on their posts. If you are a small brand, an influencer, or even a daily user, here are the ways you can overpower the Instagram algorithm: 1. The best thing a user can do is play by the rules of the game and then work their way around them. Only 10% of your followers actually see the content you post...so beat it up with engagement! This varies from likes, comments, saves, stories, and any type of interaction. If that 10% interacts with your posts, Instagram sees it as quality content, and may decide other people should see it too.. Potentially landing you on the explore page. With the newest update! Hashtag engagement is back and better! 2. Stay active and consistent. If you do not have enough content to contribute when posting... Create Insta-stories instead as a supplement. These can be fun and practical. On your story, you can update your daily life, put a throwback, write about what’s been happening in the world, conduct polls or even inspire others with simple quotes! You can also interact with IGTV which allows you to create and post long videos on the platform! 3. Be active with other users! Instagram rewards you if you like and comment on other user’s posts. Also, reply to the comments on your posts. There is no need for conversation because even replying with a heart emoji counts! Remember, do not overdue anything on Instagram because YOU WILL GET SHADOW-BANNED! 4. Lastly, use your insights. Find out when your followers are mainly active by days, hours and how they prefer to interact with your posts. Whether this is with the caption, or even telling them you have a new post up, through your stories. These techniques may be seen as obvious or absurd, but a little extra attention for about 30 minutes a week doing these tips can improve the quality of your account by a lot, organically.
