Anton Frank är sju år när tar hand om elefanterna Dunja och Daela. I 45 år sköter han dem. Men med åren växer en opinon fram om elefantförbud på cirkus och relationen med hans älskade djur hotas. Anton Frank är femte generation cirkusarbetare. Idag är han chefsdressör på cirkus maximum som nu är på turné.Anton är uppvuxen bland djur. När han föddes fanns redan elefanten Dunja i familjen. Anton får som sjuåring i uppdrag av sin far att ta hand om henne och hennes nytillkomna vän Daela. När han ärver elefanterna från sin far spenderar han mer tid med dem än sin egna familj.
