Ook deze week is er heel wat technologienieuws om te bespreken. Zo kunnen we Proximus Pickx en de nieuwe Google Pixel 4 beter leren kennen. Daarnaast komen ook Firefox en Dropbox met leuke nieuwtjes, terwijl[...]

Het is E3-week! Normaliter betekent dat een sloot aan nieuw aangekondigde games, maar dit jaar valt dat mee en zien we vooral meer van games waarvan het bestaan al bekend was. De nadruk ligt op hardware en distributie, met het oog op de toekomst. Bijvoorbeeld nieuwe consoles: eerder dit jaar lichtte Sony al een tip van de PlayStation 5-sluier op en in de afgelopen week deed Microsoft dat voor de volgende generatie Xbox. Wat blijkt? Op papier zien ze er verdraaid hetzelfde uit, wat hardware betreft dan. Wat betekent dat voor ontwikkelaars en gaan we echt games met 8k en 120fps zien? Dat bespreken we onder meer in de aflevering van deze week. Een andere E3-trend is de manier waarop games worden gekocht en verspreid. Natuurlijk zijn er streamingdiensten in opkomst, maar ook mensen die hun games graag lokaal draaien, hoeven daarvoor steeds minder vaak de game aan te schaffen. Microsoft breidde zijn Xbox Gamepass namelijk uit naar de pc en Ubisoft komt met een all-you-can-playsysteem onder de noemer Uplay+. Is dit een goede manier voor gamers om goedkoop aan hun games te komen of zit er een addertje onder het gras?
