Back in 2016 I discovered a young singer by the name of Katie Pederson. By 2018 I was pretty invested in singing her praises while she continued to put out great music on albums like The Landing and Limitless. On our last visit in a studio together on the Acoustic Alternatives podcast, you may have learned more about her. This time I was very happy to welcome her new project with her friends Jillian Linklater (who I had also first heard in 2016) and Grace Theisen. I got to see one of their first shows awhile ago and I knew immediately I wanted to find a way to get the trio on the podcast so you could be introduced to them too.Turns out, this is their first interview as a group.Songs include:"The Rebel Eves""Long Gone Don Juan""American Dream""Trying To Find Healing"Songs written by Katie Pederson, Jillian Linklater, Grace Theisen.Learn more about the trio at:https://www.therebeleves.com/Thanks to Grove Studios!https://grovestudios.space/Support me and find out more here:https://johnmbommarito.wixsite.com/johnbommarito/acoustic-alternatives

Grace Theisen is a musician, songwriter, entrepreneur, and activist - all of which are parts of her identity that got shoved to the side after she woke up one day with excruciating pain in her back. A pain that stuck around for the next seven years despite two intensive surgeries and thousands of dollars worth of treatment. Today, Grace has a pretty good idea of where it came from and why it kept getting worse, but it took her nearly a decade to get these answers and find a way to gain control over it and get her life back. Join us as Grace peels back the layers of her physical symptoms and rediscovers herself along the way. Teachers: The Theisen Family We are so blessed and excited to share this LIVE teaching from the 2018 STF National Event! In this three-part teaching on Ephesians 5:21-6:4, the Theisen Family explores the topic of unity and our Christian walk as it pertains to the family. In the first segment, Gary & Karen Theisen bring their insight on the interplay of care, respect, and submission between husbands and wives, what that looks like in a healthy relationship, and why these demonstrations of love are so important to God. In the second segment, Grace Theisen addresses the parent/child relationship, how our earthly parental relationships reflect our relationship with God as His children, and why an intimate bond with our Creator is essential to our wellbeing. In the final segment, Caitlyn Theisen explores the master/servant relationship, the necessity for love and care, honor and respect, and how God cares for us as we serve Him. Grace Theisen and Lauren Lancaster are Michigan natives now residing in Nashville, TN. A few years ago, they started Songs Against Slavery. SAS “empowers and inspires communities to join the fight against sex trafficking in the United States. We raise awareness and funds through benefit concerts and musician partnerships.” Essentially, they raise money through concerts and partnerships and they use the money they raise to help fund projects that directly help free people from human trafficking. I truly enjoyed spending time with Grace and Lauren. Their joy for life and passion for helping people come through so many times during our conversation. Additionally, we chat for a bit about some chronic health issues Grace has had to endure for the last few years. We have so much to learn from these amazing women. Follow SAS on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Check out their website for resources and for more ways to get involved! If you enjoyed our conversation or have a question for them, hit them up!
