But let me maybe start from the basics. What I'm talking about is the Tonewood amp. That's a little amplifier that clips to the back of your guitar and then it uses a built-in speaker to produce some effects through your guitar's sound box. So I'm going to explain this in some more detail how this works but this is the basic idea. So where do we start? We start with the fact that this amplifier is in fact a rectangular device. If you can imagine you have a guitar relatively middle size, it definitely will occupy a very tiny space on the back of your guitar. The way this works is that with the device, when it ships, you get something called an X-bracket and this X-bracket has some adhesive tape that you use to attach the bracket itself to the guitar from the inside. Now I just wanted to let you know that this does not in any way damage the wood of your guitar. They usually advise that you try the amplifier first before you attach it, but, you know, that's already sort of for the manual. I'm not going to go into these details here. So let's say you know the place where you want to attach the amplifier. From the inside you find a similar space where you can attach the…

Tom is also a renowned sound alchemist, psychotherapist and shaman. He is regarded as a pioneer in the field of psycho-acoustic research and is an acclaimed practitioner of psycho-acoustic healing. He is dedicated to integrating modern science with ancient mysticism through the power of sound, and at the inception of his career, he was an aspiring country musician, however, in the early stages of his life, he encountered a series of mystical experiences that forever altered his life path. Using his nearly four-octave range voice, in tandem with other acoustic instruments, he creates deeply altered states of consciousness that access the brain's unused potentials for heightened creativity and spiritual insight. Tom is also an accomplished writer & filmmaker and in 2014 he produced the movie “Song of the New Earth” which is a documentary that looks at his work in the field of sound healing & psycho-spiritual transformation. Together with Sophia, we dive into the neurology, poetry, and raw honesty of this acoustic chain reaction. Why does one bark provoke a chorus? How does this ripple through our nervous systems, our neighbourhoods, our creativity?Together with my AI co-host Sophia, wWThe neuroscience of acoustic entrainmentDog behaviour as an auditory mirror of human societyBarking as material for sonic and artistic transformationThe tension between creative stillness and environmental disruptionThe episode concludes with a collaborative song—The Bark Between the Lines—co-composed with Los Inorgánicos & Sophia, transforming irritation into rhythm, and noise into presence.Detlef Schlich is a rock musician, podcaster, visual artist, filmmaker, ritual designer, and media archaeologist based in West Cork. He is recognised for his seminal work, including a scholarly examination of the intersections between shamanism, art, and digital culture, and his acclaimed video installation, Transodin's Tragedy. He primarily works in performance, photography, painting, sound, installations, and film. Send us a textHave you ever needed something steady to hold onto when everything around you was shaking? "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms" might be the quietest anthem of faith ever written—not making a grand entrance, but showing up faithfully when your strength doesn't.Unlike hymns of triumph and majesty, this beloved gospel song speaks to our deepest vulnerabilities. Born from real heartbreak when composer Anthony J. Showalter responded to two former students who had lost their wives, the hymn transforms the promise of Deuteronomy 33:27 into a melody of comfort: "The eternal God is your dwelling place, and underneath are the everlasting arms."What makes this hymn extraordinary is how it's transcended its origins to become part of our cultural fabric. From Mahalia Jackson to Alan Jackson, from The Night of the Hunter to True Grit, these simple lyrics about divine support have resonated even in secular spaces. Yet behind its cultural reach lies theological depth wrapped in the simplest language—fellowship that brings joy, a pilgrim journey made sweeter by divine companionship, and freedom from fear not because life is safe, but because God is good and walks with us.Whatever wilderness you're walking through right now, this episode invites you to lean in—to the arms that never weaken, the promises that never fade, and the fellowship that never lets go. Join us as we discover why, generation after generation, believers have found such comfort in these simple words: "safe and secure from all alarms."SHOW NOTES:Leaning on the Everlasting Arms performed by Nathan Drake of Reawaken Hymns from the album Hymns of the Father from The Trinity Project. To purchase the digital album and any or all of the amazing Reawaken Hymns worship resources for Hymns of the Father.Lyric videos, chord charts, sheet music available for "Leaning on the Everlasting Arms” can be found on Reawaken Hymns.Acoustic version of this hymn also available from Reawaken Hymns.Support the show www.thebrightforever.comAll songs used by permission.

As much as I love all of the instrumentation and vocal harmonies that characterize the new album (which you can hear in that multilayered form right now on Bandcamp), listening to all of these songs in their original, solo acoustic form yesterday I found personally to be a powerful experience. I think these 12 songs, heard in this order, provide a fairly raw and I daresay gripping account of the past two months in certain vital corners of planet Earth. I thought I'd present them to you like I heard them, back-to-back, in case you want to try that, too.
