On this episode of Time on Screen, Zach is joined by Asher Rapkin, co-founder of Collective Horology. We return to the small screen this week to focus on what might just be as close as we'll ever come to a consensus pick for the greatest television show of them all, The Sopranos. Zach and Asher reminisce about catching the series as it aired (they're both kind of old) and acquiring those iconic DVD box sets, another collecting rabbit hole altogether. Then they dive into “Mr. Ruggerio's Neighborhood,” the season 3 premiere that originally aired in the spring of 2001, setting the table for what some fans argue is the best single season of the show. This episode, which tracks an FBI team as they attempt to plant a listening device in the Soprano home (the “sausage factory”), is uniquely obsessed with time, and has what is easily one of the show's great watch spots on Agent Harris. His Timex (with an Indiglo dial) is sneakily great character work, drawing a clear line between Tony and life of ill gotten gains, and the more humble means of the government employee just doing his job in trying to take him down.To stay on top of all new episodes, you can subscribe to The Worn & Wound Podcast — now available on all major platforms including iTunes, Google Play, Stitcher, Soundcloud, Spotify, and more. On this week's episode of Bad For The Community, we had the pleasure of being joined by one of Boston's waviest DJs, Baby Indiglo! Indiglo is best known for her DJ sets at the Silk R&B parties and her well-curated SoundCloud mixes. We kicked off the episode with Indiglo spoke on how she got started with the Silk R&B events (4:00), how Boston's nightclub scene compares to Providence (13:35), and her transition to becoming a full-time DJ (30:00). Later on in the episode, we discussed if AI technology is going be a threat to music creatives (36:30), Indiglo shares her interest in becoming a producer (49:20) and if she feels a responsibility to break new artists, especially local ones (53:40). We later shared our thoughts on how social media has made people shameless and also looked back on the good old days of social media (1:10:15). This week Dan Quayle doesn't approve of Murphy Brown, a doctor makes some extra money and different doctors are concerned with a new lollipop. We express our feelings on the new Power Rangers trailer, then we take an in depth look at locally produced TV, which mostly died out in the 90s, but was very important in some big TV shows and movies. Stuck in the 90s is brought to you by the forgotten colour of the 90s, Indiglo. Be a $10 sponsor and email stuckinthe90spodcast@gmail.com for info.
